[Q] Gtalk sound notification not working - plz help - HD2 General

Greetings to everyone,
I am posting this qn after searching on forum.
Somehow, Gtalk sound notification is not not working. Option in settings is enabled but no sound when new message comes in although it vibrates. I haven't added/moved/deleted any sound wav files from any directory.
I have installed, many tweaks, Anastasia skinning etc.
Any suggestions are welcome. If it's not resolved, I would have to do hard-reset perhaps
Thanks
Manoj

Two new problems

Hi,
after installing too many apps this evening i found two problems:
- when i receive a new message a very little windows appears on lower left side of the home windows. This new one probably replaces the extended normal one which appears when a new sms arrives.
- when i set the ring off or vibration mode however the diamond ring but at the max volume. It's crazy !!!
These are the last apps I've installed today before find the problems:
- scorpio16v 4icons_in_row
- jizy HTC Action Screen
- Nadavi HTC Diamond - Improved Connection Manager
- ThumbCal 1.1.2
- dark Phone Pad - International
- Dictmgr
I removed all the apps but the problems persist.
What can i do?
Do you need the list of all applications installed of my Diamond?
Thanx
Hi again,
i've done some screenshot of the problem...i hope now someone can help me
As you can see the stupid restricted window with the new message is over any other apps.
Thanx
i haven't installed those apps yet. have they all been done at once? i can test to see if it is linked to one, but may be tied to a combo of them.

Hi th1nm1nt,
i installed them about at this order:
- Dictmgr (install and removed because i couldn't understand how to use it)
- dark Phone Pad - International (install and removed because unuseful)
- ThumbCal 1.1.2 (install, removed than re-install two day later)
- Ringtone Manager v3.0 (softreset included)
- * scorpio16v 4icons_in_row
- * jizy HTC Action Screen
- * Nadavi HTC Diamond - Improved Connection Manager
* Installed one after the other, then softreset at the end.
As i wrote, i tried to uninstall all apps but the problem persist. I'm not an WM Mobile expert, but i think the problem is not in Manila, but in WM.
This morning i find the allarm doesn't start. Why? I've discovered that after connect the mobile with activesync the sms and allarm rings are shutup...then after a softreset they ring again but at the max volume, is also impossible set the sms ring at the desired volume witch ring at the max volume in any condition and any variation on the phone volume is vain, also the vibration is always off. Instead for the phone call ring and vibrate correctly.
Thanx
PS. With Resco Registry Editor i tried to find any Word, Key or Strings that can set the size of the popup window but i didn't find anything. I fink the problem is in some dll or exe files (tmail.exe?)
Hi guys !!!
In the autostart folder i founded a link to this app "MessageInterception.exe"
The name doesn't link very good...interception? hum...
So i've disabled this link and after a softreset now i've got an half-problem:

I've done a quicksearch and i founded an interesting thread: No SMS voice notification

I have NO sounds for my notifications...

Yes, that's right, I don't even get a notification or a sound from my calendar when an appointment is due...
I don't know why this has happened, but I suspect I've done something in the registry...
I do get notifications and sounds when I for example receive a SMS, It's just the calendar that won't work...
Please help me asap
And I have also already checked the control panel, and there I have enabled sounds for notifications/calendar
Im not an expert but have the sound files corrupted or something along those lines? If you have your SMS sound working, have you tried assigning that sound to the one that doesn't work and seeing if it works?
Can't be much more help other than doing a hard reset if the above isn't any help.

Yes, I've tried that, but it's not working anyway... I now have it set to my SMS-sound, but no 'pling' on my appointments from my calendar...
and no notification either...
Same for me.
Notifications' sound has disappeared some weeks ago. Probably something I've installed.
At the moment on my phone I have very few applications, here they are:
- Advanced Config
- Beyond pod
- Facebook panel
- Mort player
- pocket player
- S2U2
- SmartPhone Tracker
- YouTube panel
Could you please check if we have some apps in common? Probably the problem is due to one of these.

Of these I only use YouTube panel and Facebook panel (don't use that one).
Did you check under sounds and notifications if you're sounds are still selected there? Did you change their location?
Hope your phone is not mute in any way...
Sorry, I have no other idea...
look at the options of the calender... (extras->options...)
I have the same problem. I do have an sms sound, but no incoming call sound or a notification from the outlook calendar. When i try and select any sound for incoming calls in the sound and notifications menu it plays perfectly. When I get an incoming call there is no sound at all. I also tried to change the settings to ring only, but nothing...
Programs I have installed:
Xperia tweak
TomTom 7
SecureW2
G-Alarm (but it was before I installed this)
Sony Pictures player (hmmm, this might be the one)
Modaco NoData
Total Commander

Notifications

Hi,
I am not being notified by an alert sound when I get am sms or voicemail or any of the notifications.
I believe everything is turned on to make the tone sound but it's silent. I am getting the notification in the with the flashing green LED and the notification icon in the title bar.
Please don't tell me I have a fault!! Grateful for any help.
Thanks
Same issue here.
Hard Reset solves it.
I found what trigger this problem for me is installation of a language pack.
I've read somewhere that someone said what triggered it for him was something about playing with location (country). What I saw is that after I install the language pack, my location is changed too (when I check in regional settings). Maybe this is the trigger...
I solved this by going into the Windows interface which can be damn tricky without a stylus!!
My Sense UI wasn't picking up the Windows settings, so the notifications were ticked in Sense but not in WinMo, and WinMo was the setting being used.
Possibly a fault with the Sense UI??
Thanks
Hi can you tell me how you mangaed to solve this
because i have been through the phne with a fine tooth comb and i cannot get that sms sent notification to work.
On closer inspection of the registry i do no think there is even a string for the notification (HKCU/ControlPanel/Notifications ect.
In the windows sound settings there are settings for sent MMS but not Sent SMS or Sent Message.
On My old Blackstone it seems there ere far more notification options to be enabled or disabled as you wish. If anyone has an idea what string or information we could add to the above registry setting then i think we might have nailed it?

HD2 and vibration / sound on text message

Dear forum,
I am new to this forum. May I ask:
My new HTC HD2 does not vibrate or sound on text messages, despite all my efforts in the settings. Help?
Thank you.
David
Hey raveh,
I you scroll all the way to the settings tab, select "sound and diplay" (sorry i'm translatin from my french rom, so use your imagination if the terms are not exactly the same), then "notification sound", select one of the items (eg: text message), you'll see on top of the page a "scroller" Vibrate [Deactivated------Activated------Only]. You just have to select whichever one you want in every section of the settings.
Hope that helped
Cheers
too easy to solve this
Thank you, but this is the obvious, and it does not help at all.
I was even asked to go to setting, press menu, go to all settings, and from there to do it - it did not help either.
The HD2 sounds and vibrates to phone calls, but does not sound or vibrate to text messages. Any idea why?
Sincerely, David.
Hi Raveh, is your problem sounds and vibrates solved? I have similar problem on vibration.
Thank You.
vibration and sounds of text messages
Thank you for the interest.
What I found so far is interesting and goes like this:
When people buy this HD2 (a wonderful device, I think) the Hebrew speakers try to install a free Hebrew program. It works well but not perfectly. However, it stops the vibrations and sounds of the text messages. I did hard reset, the Hebrew was deleted, and the HD2 returned to vibrate and sound to text messages. Chats in Hebrew revealed this problem. Maybe other downloads do it as well, not only Hebrew, and probably not intentionally. One person posted a solution: he showed to go to the registry, and to change a numeric parameter (something like "1033" in the MUI folder there. I am not professional enough to do it. I will have to ask help from the real pros. If you do it, let me know here or write to [email protected].
Good day and best wishes, whereever and whoever you are.

I used to had the same problem and the solution that work for me was downloading this app called "VIBRATION WIDGET".. You just search for it on the market (i cant post links for now)
This is a widget that when you activate it pops up a window that ask you to turn on the vibration (notifications, calls, etc) just click YES/ACTIVATE and there you have it. Problem solved
You can also try with Sound Manager or something like that and change the settings that you can't change on the options that came with the device
Sorry about my awefull english
Thanks button if you find this usefull
