1)yes,if you know the registry keys (and know how to change them so they will work) for the hardware ''slideview/panel manager'' button;
you need to make a new panel with a sony ericsson panel maker and assign the file SlideView.exe to run when you open that panel

remap the start menu?

Is there a way (i know there must be ) to remap the start menu icon to open something else in wm5 / wm6 pro? if so, how?
shouldnt it just be a reg hack?
bump......but i think its rather function in coredll, or wherever that function is...
it would be NICe to have wm5newmenu on that damn button imo...
i am thinking about changing image of m$ for something else...and i have almost same problem as yours...it may be possible with ROM kitchen...but..mabye not.
there are apps i have seen, just apps, that seem to replace the start menus with there version of a start menu, but idk how they do it
Hmm, if it is not possible to change the start menu icon functionality, it may be possible to make a workaround (something on the lines of wisbar)..

I've been looking for ages! Only solution I've found is SK Menu. What it seems to do is overlay its own window on top of the Start button, & you can assign pretty much whatever you like to it (Tap & Tap n Hold)

Startmenü

Hi all,
i have a little Question and hope that this wasnt ask by someone else. (sorry for my bad english)
In the startmenu i can put up to 7 Programs at max. Does exist any Registry entry to stack up the Number of programs that i can put in the startmenu?
Start menu "Settings" Shortcut
Help, I lost the "settings" shortcut on the startmenu. Is there a way to get it back without having to hard reset the device?

You may want to take a look at this tool, one of the most valuable tools I've installed on my Polaris: 'QuickMenu' of Chinese origin. It replaces the startmenu on the windows logo, while the original windows startmenu is still available under 'Start'.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-quickmenu-v2-7.html
Functions:
- Cascading StartMenu (fully configurable)
- Cascading Settings menu (windows mobile settings)
- TaskManager (easy switch and close functions from the startmenu)
- TaskSwitcher (create alt-tab shortcut to QM-active-next which you can map to a hardbutton)
- Hibernate/Suspend/Reboot from startmenu
- Execute ...
- SIP panel selector
- Bluetooth toggle (connectable, discoverable, off)
- Batterystatus (in percentage)
- Memorystatus (internal or memorycard)
There's no installer, unzip the archive to a 'quickmenu' folder in your program files and run the exe once. If you don't like it, delete the folder. The only issue I had with it on my previous device was that the 'Settings' menu which links to WM's personal, system and connection settings didn't work correctly, possibly because it was mapped to the 'Settings' function, in stead of the dutch 'Instellingen'. The rest of the functions worked fine.
My Polaris has an english system and QM works perfectly. Great little tool.
"You may want to take a look at this tool, one of the most valuable tools I've installed on my Polaris:"
Thanks for this. A top tool.
Indeed a great tool, but can you disable the battery status on the upper right corner ? It is messing with the task manager and i cant close or select which program i want.
I tried disabling it from the settings of the program itself, and the battery status gets removed, but i still cant see the task manager icon.
Go into Settings/Task Manager/Button tag and re-check the "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen"

It´s on the video on youtube:

It looks to me very much like the "Programs" tab. There must be a way to port your start menu items to the programs tab and then you could change your tab order so "programs" is first and act like your start menu, although that means losing your home tab as the main screen. Or maybe the "Start" button could be remapped to flip to the programs tab. (am I opening a can of worms here?)
Would this be possible, or can the programs tab only contain *.EXEs? If it was possible to contain different shortcuts, it would be nice if we could change the name of the tab to "Start" as well. Then the only difference would be the button you use to get to it (Providing the Start button isn't remapped).
So, my idea involves:
1. Finding a way to add things other than EXEs to the "Programs" tab
2. Remapping the "Start" button to make TF3D flip to the "Programs" tab
3. Remapping the right soft-key to open the start menu (so you can still get to it if you need it, but only from the Home tab)
4. Rename the "Programs" tab to "Start" somehow.
Damn, it sounded so much easier in my head...
Maybe porting the Topaz's Start Menu would be quicker!!!
Nice idea but I thought if we can add folders in to the programs tab of manilla (like settings folder and then it opens all settings like when you press on "all programs" in program tab in manilla). or something like that. That`s what I am after. Something like THE TOUCHXPERIENCE PROJECT. Sorry schaps if you have something against it just say it.
We don´t need the start menu at all if this can be done.
solved..!!??
hey guys
i think xboxmod (or a rom cooker) already solved this in his rhodium port for vga devices...
i just remember a post that says "program tab is mapped to start button"
dunno exactly use search engine
bye

Change lower buttons functions

Hello, In rhodium the lower buttons are "Phone" on the left and "Camera" on the right.
How can I change this buttons to other functions as "programs" or others?
I try with Advanced configuration tools and other utilities but when soft reset all return with original values. My rhodium have Italian rom.
Thanks
Use HD Tweaks works on mine.
Use HD Tweaks with caution.. Some of the tweaks might give issues on TP2.. For one, its a know issue that one or some of the volume tweak would disable sound on your TP2.. There after, you make calls and you can't hear the other side..

Use Touchflo Detacher, you can set the softkeys on the homescreen aswell as in Touchflo 3D to any application or shortcut (ink) you want.
http://www.codeplex.com/TFDetacher
At the moment I have Camera and Windows Messenger
Hard Keys
In case you didn't know already, you can also set the Send key as a shortcut as well. Just go Settings > All Settings > Personal > Buttons

You can remap both soft keys (left and right) the same way: either choose the program from your application list shown in the pull-down window, or choose the application from any location on your device by clicking [...] path search on the right side. This way you can remap both soft keys to ANY program on your device.
with a reg editor you can go for : HKLM->Software->HTC->Manila
Here it is : HomeRSKPath (Write the path of the desired app)
Below is : HomeRSKText (Write the text you want to see in home right soft key).
Hope it can help.
Is there a way to just remove the two soft buttons and have the tf3d icons on the bottom? I am running an auto lock program and the phone button is not needed as I can use the hard button.
