Since I've done the Froyo 2.2 OTA update, when I try to go into the internet it say's:
"Sorry!
The application Internet
(process com.android.browser)
has stopped unexpectedly.
Please try again.
Then it has a force close button."
What gives?
My wifes internet went down on her hero with the 2.1 update. Hard reset fixed it. Couldn't hurt to try.
Are you guys trying to restore bookmarks from titanium backup or any other backup? Cuz if you restore bookmarks from a 2.1 rom to a 2.2 rom it will screw up your internet app.
Try restarting the phone and running a profile update as well as prl update
I've tried the update profile and soft boot and still nothing. I have to save my phone list before I would try a hard reboot. Will a hardset go back to the 2.1 version?

1)Get your MSL
2)@ dialer ##DATA#
3)Select Data Profile, menu, restore.
See if that will work before factory reset

Nah, just call Sprint and ask for it, they will give it to you no questions, I've done it twice for my Evo(s).
Hard reset won't do anything to your system except wipe the data partition clean. That will definitely fix your issue. Probably some setting or app that didn't play nice with the update. There pretty much isn't any other fix, and if there is, factory reset is still the easiest way to go. Just sync all your apps with AppBrain. That's what I do.
Well the hard reset fixed my problem. Thanks guy's!

Anything I try to download from the market just sits at "Starting Download." I've tried wiping the cache and dalvik cache, different wifi networks, 3G, but it still does it. I don't even get the notification. Help?
How about. settings/applications/manage applications
tick market/force stop/ next clear cache/ Next Uninstall updates and Reboot.
This method freed up a couple apps that were stuck on installing.
And it will reapply the update for the market as well after boot.
good day.

I've already done most of that. There are no Uninstall Updates option.
Had thee exact same issue. Wound up completely removing voodoo, flashing my stock + root + themes backup, re adding voodoo, and rebuilding the rest. Worked fine then.
I actually ran into the issue on my nexus, which I think was attributed to wiping, then restoring all my apps via titanium. I think I'll be avoiding that as I did the same before this occurrence.

I don't have Voodoo. Only root and birdman's voodoo colorfix. I think it may be Titanium because that is what I used to restore my apps since this is a brand new phone.

This happened to me after I updated to the 2.2 market, and installed the EVO font pack.
I uninstalled the evo font pack, uninstalled the 2.2 market, fixed.
If you've installed the 2.2 market, uninstall it, if you haven't, try installing that and seeing if it fixes the issue.

But I'm on the market it comes with out of the box.
Also, my phone was sitting there for about 2 hours. I had tried to install Dolphin HD 2 hours beforehand. It was installed. But, none of the other apps I tried to install did. This is so strange. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I need a working Market.
I got mine to work again...
I disabled voodoo and restored one of my back ups from a week ago that had the stock rom on it...
and now doing everything over again ...
I thinks you should try to restores yourse too maybe it will work again!

My market has the exact same problem.
Just started yesterday when i went to jts clean rom.

Have either of you done a titanium backup?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I had that problem yesterday I had to un-root the phone I can't post the URL but you can find the thread in the 2nd page of fascinate and devlopement forum
it was the only solution I found and it helped
Im Having the same problem. Happened after flashing JT's clean ROM.
It's from restoring apps with Titanium Backup. For whatever reason, whenever I do this, it breaks my market no matter what ROM and whether I have Voodoo or not. Restore to stock, re-root, and everything, and you need to restore every app manually.
I did not use Titanium Backup.
I posted a new thread about this, seemed to work for me and a few others I tried. Check "for anyone having market issues"
Been having the same problem. I used titanium to freeze then defrost Market. Then did the same thing to Market Updater. Market works perfect now, but it reverted from the Froyo version back to Eclair. But it's better than not working at all.
Promise this will work. Just go to titanium and click on Market and then click Wipe Data. Do the same with Market Updater. All will be fixed.

This is an old issue, with several things to try.
I would first suggest looking through your application list and uninstalling any 0.00 sized files left as ghosts of apps manually removed. There will possibly be other smallish sized files left behind as well if you can identify them.
Force stop and clear market cache
Boot into recovery, clear cache and reboot.

I tried everything you just said above exactly. It still has the same result: "Starting Download" indefinitely.
I also tried using Titanium Backup to wipe data for market and market updater, but that didn't work either. I'm pretty frustrated that I can't figure this out
Got a solution. I was having the same problem with my Evo. Go to applications, then go to installed on sd. Move everything over to the phone. Then go to all applications and clear cache/data/and force stop it. That did the trick. You can move everything back to sd card after it fixes the market issue and it shouldn't happen again.

Uninstalling the froyo market and reverting back to the 2.1 market resolved this issue for me on 2 phones ... Mine and the wifee.
I had this issue, and I found out something peculiar. I was running JT's Super Clean rom with Market 2.2 and a Voodoo kernel, and the Factory Reset ran, but did not actually reset anything. After turning Voodoo off, I was able to Factory Reset, which fixed the Market issues.
Same thing here...
I was having this issue as well. Had to install JT Clean rom w/ wiping cache and data. Tried every suggestion in the book but none fixed it but wiping cache and data and installing JT Clean Rom.
jv
Anyone had any issues where they download apps but they dont install.
Mine began doing this recently. I cant install any apps what so ever from the market, but im able to push apps via adb for whatever reason.
Even a soft reset hasnt worked?? Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Yes, thought it was just be being impatient and getting a head of myself..
Glad to know I'm not cracking up aftera all lol..
I found that if you click through to the "MyApps" in the Market (Top-Right) then go back and install I can install the Apps. It's like it needs to 'engage' the install process for some reason........ Very annoying!!
even the described method doesnt work.... someone at google support was looking into this one for me but i think its something they cant do lol
Any solutions here?
I did have this with my UK wifi Xoom for about a week but because I was planning on flashing the US image I just ignored it. Now installed US image and working fine. I suspect a factory reset would solve it but I guess you don't want to go that far.
Try clearing the Market cache in applications.
Mine is always restarting at app install
Seems that I have about same prob but mine keeps restarting and not installing any app
Anyone have some suggestions if mot guess ill reboot and see what happens.

+1 had same issues with market from the day I bought mine (euro 3g). Nothing worked, including factory reset, until I flashed the US 3.1 build. I don't think its crashed since.
So waiting for the 3.1 upgrade is the only option as a factory reset didn't work. Meh lol....
Maybe if any devs see this, maybe we could get a fix?

yes for me its the storage problem.
what i did was just deleted two movies n had 2.96GB of storage available n all updates were successful.
hope this works for all u guys too.
cheers
After trying it out, it is confirmed...
Apps Will Not Install Unless You Have More Than 3 Gb Left Of Internal Space Left On The Xoom
You might get away with 2.96 Gb as above, but not 100 % sure as i cant fill enough data on my device to that point.
I wonder if in 3.1 this will change.
But still this is so crap as to install an update of 324kb we need 3gb free.
Think i was a bit too eager to get xoom. Should have waited for samsung

The problem I'm having is that I select apps to install, it shows them as downloading, but I open a different app, and the installs never happen. I have to go back into the Market, and keep the market open for them to install.
I am having the same problem on my Xoom and My Sensation 4G. I have 12.6GB free on my Xoom and 727mb/3.15GB on my Sensation
Okay, so I was listening to a YouTube video via Popup Browser BETA. When the song finished, I tried closing the window, but it wouldn't let me interact with the window. Not sure why. I just figured since the app was in beta it was just confused, so I went to the settings->running applications->I force closed the app. But for some reason, the little window still wouldn't go away. So I decided to reboot my device. Bad idea, apparently...
Now whenever I boot up my phone it'll vibrate, display the Google logo for a few seconds, and then... it goes to a blank black screen. Not a clue why. I've tried:
- Leaving it to charge and rebooting
- Leaving it in the blank black screen
- Booting into recovery, then trying to reboot the device from there
- Clearing cache partition
Nothing works. I still can't boot up my phone again.
I'm running Slimbean 4.2.1 (not the latest version). There really isn't anything that might have triggered this. I can still charge my phone (the charging animation still occurs) and I can still go into CWM Recovery. I'd really rather not have to install a new ROM or anything... but if I have to, is there a way to extract the data I have on my phone now while in recovery or something?
Any suggestions?
EDIT: This has been FIXED. Moderators, if you see this, you can close this thread. If anyone else has this problem, try reflashing your current version of your ROM, that's how I fixed mine. I'm not responsible for damage to your device.

Unless I'm mistaken the backup will take more than that, yes? Considering I've got a few games apps that probably equate to about 4GB.

Reflash the same version you were running before this accident, as the newest version requires clean flash.
