Anybody else get this and ever find a fix?
Tons of info out there.
Downloading RemoteWave for my boss's new Incredible from Verizon. Purchase went through OK and got a receipt from Google Checkout.
App shows purchased, then I click Install, says app will be downloaded, then the details just sits at the Authorizing Purchase screen.
Tried everything, but nothing works...not doing a wipe, boss's phone, don't want to screw with that.
Free apps download and install just fine.
Thanks
Did you report it to http://groups.google.com/group/androidremote ?

I emailed the developer. Haven't got a reply in the past 2hrs...not sure how often he checks his email, or if that is even his real email in the product details on the market.
Thanks
How long have you tried letting it sit at autorizing purchase? I had that happen once and I let it sit for like 10 mins on 3g not wifi and it went through finally. Hope that helps...

It worked today. The developer emailed me back, nice guy. Seems like it could take upwards of a day for it to finally go through and allow download.
Tried it this morning, boom, no problem. Stupid google...they are really running an amateur hour operation compared to Apple when it comes to their mobile devices, store etc...
Gave up on mine
I tried for days to purchase Alien World Abduction. Every time I would sit there and hunt and peck out my complete mailing address, my credit card, number, etc. only to then be met with invalid credit card (it isn't)
The author, who insists on charging in GBP, had a FAQ telling you to call your credit card company, or to use a completely different market. I am surprised to see those are his 2 recommendations ... it's like he wants an impediment to people legitimately purchasing his software.
Yet another example of how people who try to do the right thing have to jump through hoops, and people who do the wrong thing have it super easy.
I am having the same issue with my Desire, trying to purchase Extended Controls. I have emailed the dev, still waiting. I left it over night and its still sitting on Authorizing Purchase.
I agree, another case of trying to do the right thing, hoops .... etc etc etc
lol
Try soft resetting your phone (aka.. turn it off than on).. then go to Downloads in the Market menu and click on the program you purchased. Works for me every damn time.
Its OK I emailed the dev and then magically about and hour later it came through with out any resetting.
Cool, thanks
Had the same problem
Had the same problem when i tried to purchase SystemPanel. I just pressed cancel and started it again and it then Authorized in 5 seconds. Was on WIFI only, mobile network disabled.

Just got the phone today, have an issue with the market. Every app I try to download, fails, says thatcdownload was not successful. Any ideas? Anybody else having problems? Also, if I try and do factory data reset, it fails as well.
Odd man, no issue here... sorry I cant offer anything up.
no everything ok here but i do have an isue with Google GPS on the maps??
no problems with market either.
My Market keeps losing connection every now and then.
Market works fine for me as well tho on occasion it takes a little while to load the "services description" after hitting install on an application.
I had no problems what so ever with the market before i rooted the phone
^ that makes it sound like you have an issue AFTER rooting? But you did not explain.... so I assume you do not have an issue?

Haven't rooted it yet even. I'm thinking something wrong with the rom on my phone. Am at the gym now, was going to go to the store and try to get a replacement after.
Just picked up a brand new vibrant and I'm having market issues. Unsuccessful downloads. NO root BTW. Some apps initially installed but now it doesn't work anymore despite several reboots

Correct. I was chiming in that I had no issues until I changed something.

Just came back from Tmobile. Got a replacement, tested market at the store and updated maps and installed Pandora with no issues. Drove home, issue came back! Blenheim, it is not my phone, something is going on here!

spoke to the folks over at tmobile611 and they said that since our plans get 'reset' when buying a new phone, such issues are possible. they advised the usual 48hr period to see if the problem goes away.
interestingly, my 3g works for web browsing and everything else. its only the market that's having an issue, even over WiFi.

Unlikely, I paid full retail as I am on even more plus and I'm not even the primary on my account. My gf got the slide last week, she hasn't had any problems like this.
I fixed it!!! Not sure which one of the things did it, but here is what I've done!
A) in settings, manage apps, clear cache for market AND market updater AND download manager. I also force stopped them all!
B) under settings, manage networks, switched to 2g only for 39 seconds, then unchecked the box again. After, I went ahead and searched for networks and hit select automatically.
Then bow market is working, knock on the wood!

put the SIM back in the Vibrant, entered market, input password on being asked, and AGAIN NO DOWNLOADS!

Danger, I'm sorry, that's what I've done and it still is working. Annoying issue for sure, if I find anything else, I will post it here. Maybe somebody else has a better solution?
I am having problems with my market as well and the above suggestion didn't help. Suck!
the advice given to me over in the root your vibrant thread was to sign into google talk first, then open the market. It works, most of the time, although the majority of the time it doesnt install the first time and I have to hit retry once or twice. But it does work.
For the past 48 hours I have been having problems downloading anything from the UK market? Everything stops at 'Starting download'. It had been working fine until then and I uninstalled the few apps I had recently installed to see if that was the problem but no joy.
When I turned my phone on this morning it downloaded all the updates I had been trying to get yesterday so I assumed it was working. When I then tried to download some more updates the problem was there again. Any ideas why this is happening?
I am running Cronos 2.1.3
I had the same problem yesterday. Rebooting the phone did nothing. However, I saw a post that said switching on airplane mode and then disabling it might work. Fortunately, it did. Hope it does for you.
o thought it was jsut me. Although the problem fixed itself after a reboot, and is fine now.
Running VillainROM 10.3.
I thought it had somethign to do with my phones low storage.
Android Marketplace
Is anyone still having problems downloading today?
I've just got back Hero back after HTC fixed the screen so I'm looking to reinstall all my apps - however nothing will download at all. I've tried WiFi, 3G, rebooting the phone, switching airplane mode on/off, logging in & out of googletalk & also hard resetting.
Still all I get is "starting download" and nothing else.
I can't see of anything else to try.

Thanks. Seems to have worked. I found that I had to leave airplane mode on for a while before turning off. If I turn it off and then straight back on doesn't seem to work
This is now getting stranger and stranger.
I left the phone overnight and awoke to find that about half a dozen apps that I'd previously downloaded (they show in my download list but not currently installed as the phones been wiped) had actually downloaded and installed without any problems at all.
The other half dozen or so apps haven't downloaded yet. And the ones that I actually told it to download also haven't.
I've left the phone for another 6-7 hours this morning while I was out .... and still nothing has downloaded. I've got 2 things that say "starting download" and that's it.
Yeah - I'm back to having the problem again. I'll try turning airplane mode on for a while. This is really strange. I wonder if we have not installed the same application (or an update) that caused this. I think most recently I installed the latest Evernote. Did you happen to do that as well?

As far as i know IT is a market Problem. Some have it, other Not. Two friends have the same problem, one with a g1 and the other with a legend. Google says it could take time till tomorrow.

In a post in this thread http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile-pulse-pulse-modaco-com/315840/android-market-resolved/ someone claims that this is the fix:
Turns out google have screwed up some (if not all) UK accounts with the switch to GMail.
The fix is simple. Change your account from @googlemail to @gmail, wait an hour (recommend 2) then factory reset your phone, sign into your google account (@gmail) and your good to go
You can change your account from @googlemail to @gmail in the GMail setting (On a desktop computer not a phone) The option is in tiny writing

Before I try this I wanted to ask: Is everyone having problems in the UK and do you all have @googlemail email addresses?

I was having the market problem from Thursday to Sunday last week, changing my Google account to @gmail.com and doing a factory reset (I didn't read anything about the 2 hour wait, so skipped that step) fixed it for me. The other potential fixes I read about like opening GTalk, turning Airplane mode on and off did nothing for me.
I had the same problem. I tried wiping cache from recovery and applications menu. In the end I juts re-flashed after a Titanium backup which solved the issue. I was running VillainROM 12
I have changed my email from @googlemail to @gmail, done a factory reset and the market seems to be working. A PITA: thanks Google
Yeah - I've got a U.K. googlemail address. I was a little hesitant to switch from googlemail to gmail because I thought people had a lot of problems with that. Do your paid apps get transferred?

By factory reset, do you mean a full wipe? So I'd have to install all my apps again?
Sorry for being a bit thick but if I'm going to do a wipe, may as well change the ROM again
Yup. Full wipe
I have a Tmobile G2 that I just got a week ago. I played around with it for a couple days before deciding to root it, but finally pulled the trigger. Two days after rooting it a very strange thing happened. In the middle of the evening some of my Google applications stopped syncing. Gmail, Voice, and Contacts stopped. Drive still worked. Hangouts still worked... It was just weird. I clicked around for awhile and hit the interwebs to find the solution or to see if there was some widespread google outage again, but nothing.
I did everything I could think of, and then I finally clicked the option to take the phone back to stock. I know it wasn't going to take away my root, but at this point I wasn't thinking root was the problem. I just thought maybe I installed something that messed up the phone or something. Anyway, I took it back to normal and now the problem was weirder. It wouldn't even let me connect my Google account (or any google account) to the phone. It kept saying there was some sort of server error. I called TMO support and they couldn't figure it out either. They gave me a number to call Google support to let them fix it. They said that this was a 'known issue' and google support would be the one to fix it.
I kind of got nervous that they were going to creep into my phone or something and void my warranty. If my phone was broken and wouldn't connect to Google anymore then I at least wanted to be able to return it to the store and get a new one. I kinda like this device. So I un-rooted it and took it way back to stock. That fixed the problem. I don't know why, but it did. It left SU on the phone, so I'll have to get that off if it has issues again, but for now it is working fine.
Any idea why it would have just suddenly stopped connecting to Google? It connected to Drive just fine and several other apps, but the important ones wouldn't work. Unrooting it did the trick, but that would suck if you have a really great setup built. Oh well... The price you pay for being a hacker I guess.

Google had problems with their servers, many services were unavailable... had most probably nothing to do with you rooting...
You just picked the right time to do that.
Google from time to time have some problems. But not related to rooting.

That's kind of what I thought, but it was miraculously healed when I unrooted it. It could have just been strange timing, but there was nothing on the web about anybody else having this issue. I'll root it again and see what happens. There are some definite advantages to root access that I don't want to lose, but getting my email and texts are pretty important too, so....

I'm talking about this past Saturday morning, though. February 1st. I know about the google issue a week or two ago, but this was only affecting my mobile apps and wasn't the same thing. I was able to access gmail on the computer just fine. I could even access it from the phone's browser fine, but connecting the Google account to the phone was not possible. All I kept getting was 'cannot make a reliable connection to the server' error, so that is why I took the phone back to stock and then all the way back to unrooted. Unrooting it solved it, so I don't think it was just a google server issue which only affected me between the hours of 7:30 on Friday night till Saturday afternoon when I finally gave up and unrooted. It could have been connected, but I doubt it.
Which rooting guide did you follow?

I'm having the same problem. I deleted my account and recreated it. But auto-sync does not work. This has nothing to do with syncing. That works - but I have to sync manually. If I manually sync it from either the app or from the accounts option in settings it works fine. But it won't sync again. I deleted the account, restarted the phone and added the account again. Still doesn't work. If you root it and run into the same problem, please post again. I'll unroot too then.
I know this used to work at some point. I don't know when it stopped working. But it's not been working for days now.

I don't recall. The root part worked fine. I was able to use several of my apps which require root access and they all worked fine for a couple days. It just seems really random that this would all stop working one day.
So here is the timeline.....
Monday 1/27/14 - phone arrives
Wednesday - Rooted
Friday evening - Strange sync issues
Saturday morning - restored to stock while keeping root (did not solve problem and now I cannot connect any google account)
Saturday afternoon - unrooted and restored device (solved problem and google account synced fine after)
That was all in the same week. I've only had the phone since last Monday. It is worth saying that my HTC G2 and my wife's HTC G2 didn't have any issues with google syncing during this time. Totally different products, but I really tried to find anything to link the problem to something systemic and not just a device issue.
I haven't rooted it again just yet. I need to do it before I go too nuts re-installing the apks on my machine anyway. I'll definitely post again if I have problems again, but I really want to believe it was just something left over from whatever bug plagued Google a couple weeks ago.
Okay, so my old phone basically broke after I updated to 4.4.4, my service was absent almost everywhere, my bluetooth went in and out, my phone was slow and froze constantly, and my battery could drain completely in like 30 minutes if I didnt turn everything off and hardly use it, then it would maybe last a few hours. So I got a replacement through Verizon, and lo and behold, it came with 4.4.2. My last post was about me trying desperately to root, but I couldnt because of my 4.4.4 update. So I was thrilled. I transferred all my stuff, and actually managed to use towelroot and it worked.
Then, my phone automatically downloaded the update, and I couldnt figure out how to stop the update popup or notification. Nothing I tried worked, and I downloaded a few apps to try and turn it off. Disabling or etc Google Services Framework does nothing, but somehow, everything else I did managed to make the phone basically unusable. I get two errors: "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped." and the same one but about Google Play Services. I tried to undo what I did but it didnt fix it. I reset my phone to factory settings, and while that stopped the downloaded update from popping up, i cant use it because the popups are there literally every 2 or 3 seconds. I cant navigate through a menu without tapping a hundred times, usually on the wrong buttons. I dont have wifi on, so the ota update hasnt downloaded.
Im going to probably take it to Verizon tomorrow and ask them if I can just get a replacement replacement, but I hate having to do all that, because I might have to wait even longer now. If somebody has any idea how to fix google play services, please tell me. I reenabled them, cleared data and cache, force stopped them, turned them back on, nothing fixes it.
Also, I desperately need to know how to prevent an update from downloading, and how to get rid of it once it is downloaded. Ill have root access, but none of the methods Ive googled have worked, please help me, Im so frustrated with Verizon and Samsung all this bull**** now. Why cant they just let us enjoy our devices?
First off a Verizon store will not give you a new phone unless you are inside of 30 days of a new purchase. Ofirst din 4.4.2 to give it a clean start. Re root phone. Then disable sdm which will stop all ota updates.
No, Verizon will give you a replacement if you have their insurance. I've gotten dozens this way. As long as there isn't any serious physical damage like obvious scratches or cracks, water damage, or anything similar they overnight you a brand new device.
I have two phones in my possession right now, on Monday I'll have a third. I went in and showed them the replacement, they seemed confused, but they always do. They told me to just send back the broken replacement and went ahead and put in for a new one, which Ill get Monday since tomorrow is no post.
So that problem is solved.
Ill try what you suggested when I get my replacement. I've never rooted beyond the towelroot I mentioned before, so this is all new to me. It seems like some methods I've seen only work on certain phones, so thats what Im worried about.
Do you think you could give me more specific instructions, because I have no idea what everything you said meant. Im just tired of googling everything you know? Id appreciate it!
Thank you for the reply!
