for the nexus lockscreen just follow what this post here -----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5928369&postcount=1
^If you have adb setup all you have to do is adb remount>adb shell>rm /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk^
for the desk clock just search in the android market, for me the second result was an app called "Labs DeskClock" This is the vanilla deskclock and works fine (I tested it in Evil Eris)
I don't know what you mean that you want the desk clock so the lockscreen can work, you can have the vanilla lockscreen without needing the desk clock.

I'm not sure what exactly happened. Is the nexus lock screen gone? Because it is their by default.
For the deskclock that comes with the rom, just donwload the rom again unzip it on your computer go to /system/app/ and pull the DeskClock.apk
Then open up a shell
adb remount
adb push deskclock.apk /system/app/
chmod 777 /system/app/DeskClock.apk

OK I got the deskclock back but what I meant with the lockscreen is that I heard about that it wont work that much if you dnt use the vanilla deskclock with the alarm snoozing. But thanks for the help.

Modified mms.apk

Has anyone been able to replace the stock mms.apk with the one that has the extra features, it says its only for 2.1 but when i try to use root explorer to paste it, it doesn't stick. Any help i would be grateful.

What "extra features"?

I havent had any problems with root explorer. Ive used it to move files from dropbox to folders, delete bloatware, create folders for ringtones/notifications that i imported and install a few .apk's. Is there something i'm missing or should keep an eye out for?

Mind sharing the modified mms.apk? What is exactly "modified"?

Here is the link that explains the added features and the download link. The only thing i can't get to work is the colors of the led aside from that works just as stock.

i also was able to use it before.. not sure if the update or kernel i'm running now killed it
I was able to install but it removes messaging app from dock. Anyone else with this issue? FYI this mod app LETS you send/receive mms while on wifi
I must not be following the terminal instructions correctly. when I type the cp command line it tells me that cp is not found.

So I followed those instructions, but I get a force close error after reboot. Now mms doesn't work at all. Ideas?

Yeah I'm running a custom touchwiz where you can edit the bottom defaults and the apps. The new Mms.apk does remove the messaging icon, but with the custom touchwiz launcher that I'm using you can put the Mms icon back.

hi, care to share youre custom touchwiz launcher? thanks
I will post it whenever I get out of class. The only issues I had with this touchwiz launcher is that the google search widget is overally large and the samsung widgets do not load. So I deleted the samsung widgets.

So just the icon in touchwiz gets broken? Everything else works?
The custom touchwiz launcher I had didn't look right. The dock icons were smaller and widgets didn't fit the screen right. Anyone have one that doesn't have these issues

Different launchers do different things, adw launcher lets you do all of that.... you can find a link in my signature.... and you have to be rooted

Wrong... launcher will not replace status bar.
Everything for status bar is in /system/framework/framework-res.apk
You need to pull it out of the rom, modifiy it in 7zip (without extracting it) and push it back. Sounds like a lot or work but is actually easier then it sounds.

I apologize for the misinformation... I thought it was ADW that allowed me to do that, however, it is the CM rom I am using...

Yes, all the icons and bar colors are in the framework-res.apk but the clock is in the servives.jar that lies in the /system/framework folder. Also you may have to resign those files when your done with them, not sure with CWM recovery.
Thanks is that as hard as it sounds im kinda new at all this but with step by step can usually get it done

[Q] How do I get the htccalculator into CM7?

Hi,
deleted the calculator from cm7 and would like to install the brilliant one that comes with most sense roms. Found the apk, copies it over to system/app but it doesn't show up in the progs menu and fails to install should I click on it in root explorer.
Any ideas?
I really like the way its very simple, but rotating the screen gives scientific functionality.
TIA
Did you tried "Handycalc"?

The htc calculator is merely a skinned stock calculator..if you are talking about the widget, afaik it cannot be done, if you just want the app then delete calculator.apk from /system/app and replace it with the attached apk (it's the gingersense one)
for some reason the one from the rom didn't rotate. This one does, tho, cheers.

Vanilla UI on R800i?

Is there any way of putting the stock vanilla UI seen on the Verizon models on the R800i GSM models?
Thanks in advance

Yeah all you need to do is download launcher2.apk (Stock google launcher). I did a quick google search and found the gingerbread version in a SGS II Vanilla rom. When i download it, i will upload it here. You will need root and insecure ADB to install it though. As you have to push it to /system/app/ before it will work
You can download Gingebread Launcher from the Market, it's free and it's actually the stock launcher.
Logseman's idea sounds best to me. But if you still want it here is the .apk.
To install just fire up ADB and type in:
adb remount
adb push launcher2.apk /system/app
adb reboot
So this will completely replace the Timescape UI with the stock vanilla google UI like on the R800x models?

No you can install as many launchers as you want. The OS will ask you to pick a default one. It will then freeze the rest, you can easly use another launcher by finding your current default one in manage applictions. And tapping on "clear defaults". next time you press the home button. The OS will ask you to pick another default launcher
OMG you guys are champions!
I downloaded Android 2.3 Launcher and its exactly like my Nexus S 2.3.4!
Thanks heaps guys your all awesome!!

Than no app can work for you becuase gmd's hide soft key does not modify any thing in system and build prop
let me know which rom u r using right now
btw did you tried fullscreen app in playstore it creates its own systemui bar so that you can recieve incoming call etc
yeah, I've tried any possible apps to hide the navbar in stock ROM without removing the statusbar, but no luck.
Currently I'm on CM 10.1.2, using expanded desktop feature.
I'm trying to get some samsung stock apps for CM10 too!
Hello, actually Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 would crash when you add the line to system/build.prop
I'm currently using JB 4.2.2 in this thread and the qemu.hq.mainkeys tweak worked :fingers-crossed:
But that's just on P3110, because I don't own the the others
