Any way to mute media? - Droid Incredible General

Is there any way to make it so when i press and hold the power button and choose either silent or vibrant only that it will also mute media? I am hoping for the ability to change something through adb shell or something because I use the power button method all the time I just really want it to mute/unmute the media volume too...

From Mediaplayer to Vibrate - how can this be done automatically?

Hi,
I always have my TyTN in vibrate mode. That means that when I want to listen to music with the headset, I have to switch the volume on (and off when I'm finished). I wonder whethere there is a way to do this automatically. I see three options.
1) Find a mediaplyer that overwrites the system volume but switches back to vibrate when it's turned off. Mortonplayer has such function but only switches back to "volume off" - which is of no help. Any other player on the market that could do better?
2) Obtain some profile that would ask TyTN to do the volume change automatically when the headset is plugged in (I don't think that's feasible).
3) Have at least a function that would allow switching from vibrate to volume on (and vice versa).
Any ideas out there?
Best,
h.
TCPMP - you can instruct it to use the system volume or use its own volume config. Also, you could get the Vibra (switch) app (also off this forum) and bind it to something like your Comm Manager hardware key (I always use either the softkey or the shortcut on screen, so to me that button is useless), and just bind that key to execute the Vibra app - that way one press can flick me between sound and vibrate modes. Quite handy.

Disable Volume Key?

Is there any way to disable the Volume rocker key? It stays active even when the phone is locked so when in my pocket, it often reduces the volume or even puts it off compleatly. Is there a Reg hack to disable it compleatly as the volume can be set via the settings menue.
Regards, Woolly.
This does not happen on my phone.
Anyone else have this problem?
When the phone is put to "sleep" (pressing the on/off button) ,locked or not, all buttons are disabled. The phone will only wake up (all buttons and soft keys enabled) when there is an incoming call or message or when you press the on/off button again. If it's in your pocket during the wake up, that's where the volume button could be pressed by whatever.
That's how it works on mine.
^^+1
The only time the volume buttons are working while phone is sleeping is when I'm listening to music via headset... Otherwise, it works the same as azahidi's...
You can use AE Button Plus ( http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php ), I assigned another functions to volume buttons with it and lot of other functions to rest of my buttons. It is $7.99.
You can also use S2U2 ( http://www.ac-s2.com/ ) for locking the phone. It is free.

Volume buttons dont work right without single volume control

I've noticed that the volume buttons don't control the volume right when turning off the single volume control settings in the sound tab. I like this, so the RING volume isn't necesarilly the same as the SYSTEM volume. Switching to the two separate volume levels gives unwanted behaviour in sound level as well as functionality of the volume control buttons, using the Audio tab or during a call. To be more precise:
- when listening to an mp3 on the audio tab, and the screen is off, I can press the vol up/down button, but nothing really happens unless I keep pressing down untill I hit 'silent' mode - and voila presto, the music is gone. Hit vol up once, and it is back at the sound level is was, regardless of how many times I press vol up. If I turn the screen back on, vol up/down work as they should (although I have better control on the screen itself);
- when answering or making a call, volume is at max loudness, regardless of the settings I chose beforehand. Pressing vol down shows it at min loudness on the screen, and therefor doesn't do anything - untill I touch the screen to adjust the volume, and then it suddenly is possible to use a lower setting. Weird and annoying too.
So I'm back to the single volume control untill HTC fixes this.

Lockscreen volume shortcut customization?

Been looking through my Nexus for some options on this. I would like to have it switch between Vibrate and Loud instead of Silent or Loud. I for one have no use for silent mode. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing? Couldn't find anything on this. Thanks!
There sorta is.
Prese and release the power button to bring up the lock inscreen, then if you hold down volume down + top power buttom for a second or two, it'll go to silent mode. The volume rocker is then active until the screen shuts off. So for those five secs you can adjust the ringer volume. Tape volume up once and it'll take you to vibrate mode.
Same thing to bring back to loudest ringer. Hit the power button to bring up the lock screen then holdVolume up + power for a second or two and it'll go up to highest ringer volume.
Alternatively, just hold down the power buttong to bring up the "Airplane/Silent/Shut down" menu. From there you can hit volume up/down to adjust your ringer. Vibrate is one click up from silent.
Ah. Well that's a shortcut i didnt know. Not exactly what I was hoping for but thanks for the tip!
I hope that this gets changed in an update. I'd like to have the option to switch the phone to vibrate. Kind of like the hardware switch on the Moto Cliq.
Check out the apps from kaa on the market. They work for me to lock the volume keys to my liking.

locking volume and ignoring volume button presses.

Hi all.
I find quite often I end up missing calls because the volume has accidentally dropped.
is there any way or app to lock it and ignore the button presses, and maybe re-assing to something else?
thanks
responding to myself here.
I found volume locker in the market which does that.
However, it'd be nice to be able to remap the buttons.
any ideas where to get an app for that?
I hate that feature on the X10.
Who the hell though it would be a good idea to have those buttons control the ringer volume at all times?
I have never required to toggle the volume of the ringer so often that I needed hardware keys for it. Just set it once and forget.
Sometimes I'm in the media player and because a video or song isn't playing I will accidentally turn the ringer volume up or down.
I would love to have those buttons bring up the phone's status when pressed on the standby screen ala Sony Ericsson Dumb phones.
