I used mp3tag to attached album cover jpg to each of mp3 but the cover didn't show in default music player.
Download Album art grabber
You sure you embedded them properly with mp3tag? Thats what I use and the default player picks them all up fine...

yes. I'm sure. I think there is no special technique but just drag and drop a image to the album art box and save.
Hmmn, I usually right click and go into extended tags and select the album art that way...

Best option is to use a program on your PC that can put the album picture in the MP3 file headers. That's what WMP11 does on the PC either automatically (it downloads from allmusic.com) or manually (you can paste any image as album cover).
Once the picture is in the MP3 headers, WMP on the pocketpc will show it while playing.
i've tried but not work
It will also display the cover art if it is saved as folder.jpg in the album's folder, just like desktop Windows Media player does.

seems to be the only way. what a hassle.
i use mediamonkey to embed the album art into mp3 and wma files
why cant wmp jus show the embedded picture?
is there any other music software which will do this simple task?
what would be ideal is a music software which showed embedded album art, turned on bluetooth and auto-connected to the ad2p headphones and also turned on auto-answer for all calls and set the device volume... anyone know somethign that does this!?
Hi
How do I get album art to appear in the media panel when I browse through my albums?? All my tunes are on a microSD, and each album has a jpg album cover within its folder. WMP can see the album covers, but the SE media panel just shows the default turntable icon.
Any idea's?
Nigel
I would like to know this as well.
I real elsewhere that this is a no - which makes the media panel all but useless for me - I am too used to nav via pics!
Try Kinoma Player (or free player) which does do album-art.

I've got album art appearing on my media panel for just about all my albums, i think the trick is to embed the album art into the MP3s themselves, rather than using an external jpeg image, which is something i did a long time ago for my PSP... looking through my collection the only ones without album art are the albums i have got since i last updated my PSP, so i think that's a fairly safe bet.
sheesh... then I've got to embed my MP3s with the album art one by one? Hmmm... if so guess that's one area where my Touch Pro's media player's better. All I need is the album art named as 'folder.jpg'. Thought it'd work for this as well.
Album art
if its a win mobile phone jus sync with window media center easy as can be can even copy album art else were and paste rite into your media center NYC BayBee
Realized that when playing in Windows Media Player, I can see the album art. Not only that, I can see the chinese font (whereas using the media player panel, all I see are question marks).
When I synced my music collection with WMP, I got to see all the artwork in the media panel, but the playlists themselves are not synced by WMP, which is not handy as I mostly listen to those playlists themselves. Based on some tips, I went to iTunes and synced with Salling Media Sync, which does sync all MP3's and playlists, but now the artwork is no longer shown in the media panel, even though all MP3's files still have the artwork embedded in them. This is strange and annoying: either no artwork or no playlists.
You need to tag your mp3 files correctly use the below program to alter the mp3 tags and embed the album art
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html
If you've got a lot it may take some effort but it's worthwhile.

I have done that. I used that same program to embed all the covers in the MP3 files. Have been working on that for days, but still it doesn't show up in the media panel.
Hi, I can get some jpgs to show as album art by placing the image in the same folder as the mp3 but it doesnt always work.

digital monkey is a software for your pc.
That's a work around
I see that adding the artwork into the file as a tag would work but I see that as redundant data.
Why does putting the jpg into the folder work sometimes and not others?
Tom
Image may be too large for it to detect it as album art?
Embedding the art with Media Monkey or mp3tag is the way to go, never have problems with mine...

This method only worked for about 30% of my albums and I never understood why. Eventually I bought btunes from the app store, really nice program with a widget and lockscreen controls. It downloaded all of my missing artwork and I've never looked back

I would like to know this too , even image that worked in another folder doesn't work in different folder?
i dont understand why the default player only seems to find a few album covers whereas 3 music player finds them all. the id3 tags are a filled in correct. :L
I had to clear out and reset my ID tags and embedded album art multiple times to get the Desire music player to recognise them all.
Album art grabber is great.
i sort of got how it works, it's similar to Sense ui on winmo.
1. Get the cover, small res files are better (500x500 cover is good).
2. Rename the file as: ~hTC_album name.jpg (exact album name with spaces)
3. Copy the cover in the album folder and mark the file as hidden (right click on the file > properties > check hidden).
This one worked for me but some albums still won't get the cover from the folder.
I'm trying to figure this out because it seems that with some if I don't have the album art it manages to find it, others have blank album art. Some of them, for example if I have an album within a folder, will use the 'cover.jpg/png' file as the default cover which is desirable.
What I'm trying to do is to get most my music with album covers. Suggestions?

That seems like something iTunes would do.
then use doubletwist music player and sync with itunes. . . answered your own question
Eh I prefer drag and drop but I'll check it out.
i think some mp3's themselves will have the album art info embedded into the file.
as for folders and art...
if you include a jpg called "AlbumArt.jpg" within your folder, it will always use that file for album covers (this is what i do).
If it's like iTunes (and other apps, I presume), with accurate ID3 tags, it looks up and downloads the album art from somewhere. Without accurate or enough data, it shows nothing.
Do you want to have the album art in Google Play Music?

You can always embed the album art in the mp3s before copying the files on the phone, easier, faster...

What is the program that you use for do that?
I'm lazy to google for it
Try mp3tag which is free, can rename your files, auto-tag them...
Just select your tracks, drag/drop album art image file and save... done. Much faster IMO.
You must embed the image file in every mp3 file to show in music app...

You can put the album art as folder.jpg in folder with the music. It takes less space then when it's embedded in mp3's.

I don't know if folder.jpg is supported by the default music player but that way you get the album art in your gallery too (the .nomedia method is not an option).
Also embedding album art is IMO better (space is not an issue) since it works great with random tracks from various albums placed in a common folder
I'm using Poweramp, and with it I don't see embedded album art. Maybe it's depending on embedding format. Never used google music anyway so I can't say anything about it.
