I just came off a phone conference call with Verizon Wireless Customer Service & Technical Support and they have confirmed that no Froyo(2.2) for the Droid X has been pushed yet, but its will be available soon within a week or two.
Those who have reported such update are most likely tests that aren't fully ready yet for the general public.

I was just reading that sprint set to tenatively start pushing out the froyo update for the intercept on 17th if all goes according to plan. I would love to see this rooted.

it's out. My intercept is in the mail from the bay. when it gets here i'll be updating it and testing to see if the wifi widget work around works on this release.
Disheartened
Sprint Samsung Intercept users were unhappy about the upgrade as it bricked a lot of phones. Within a week all bugs were sorted out and Sprint Samsung Intercept users became very happy.
We Samsung Intercept users @Virgin Mobile USA have just experienced our first heart break (at least it was not bricked phone due to buggy Android 2.2). Here is the reason for heart break -

Sprint made a big splash in the Android community when they launched the HTC EVO 4G last summer, but since that time we have yet to see another device that created the same level of buzz and excitement. Everyone was hoping that would change this year, but Sprint had a lackluster CES and their big media event to reveal the Kyocera Echo disappointed customers who were expecting a high-end device. Thankfully, we have now discovered that Sprint has multiple dual-core devices in the works. Check out the full rumor report after the break.
The Rumor
Next month Sprint will announce the Motorola Atrix smartphone (with lapdock) and Xoom tablet. Both devices will support Sprint’s 4G WiMAX network.
The Source
This tip came from a regular source who has provided accurate information on Sprint in the past. As with most people that hand over sensitive information, they wish to remain anonymous.
One Android Insider’s take on the rumor
Last year we were the first to report on a secret Motorola device which we referred to as Terminator. It eventually landed on AT&T as the Atrix 4G, but our original sources said it would come to multiple carriers this year.
Motorola invested a lot of time and money on developing the Atrix 4G and lapdock, so we always believed it would come to as many carriers as possible. It sounds like AT&T had an exclusive period on the initial launch, but that must be expiring soon since Sprint is about to announce their version.
Verizon was always Motorola’s biggest Android customer, but increased competition from the new iPhone has forced Motorola to reach out to more customers to expand their sales. Sprint has only launched the Motorola i1, but it appears the two companies worked out a long term deal now that Motorola’s flagship products will appear on Sprint.
Announcing the two Motorola devices next month sounds a little weird since we have CTIA next week, but Sprint is expected to focus on the EVO 3D so that could be why they decided to space out the releases. Samsung is also announcing the Nexus S 4G for Sprint next week, so that’s another possible reason that the big Motorola unveiling got bumped to next month.
I believe the Atrix branding is owned by AT&T, so look for Sprint’s version to launch with a different name. The outer casing and design might be a little different, but it still needs to fit in the lapdock accessory so don’t expect anything too radically different.
Motorola owns the Xoom brand, but they were hit with a trademark lawsuit so Sprint’s version might also be marketed under a different name.
Everyone assumes that the EVO 3D will become Sprint’s flagship 4G phone, but the dual-core Snapdragon CPU from Qualcomm is untested and early performance benchmarks show that NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 could be faster.
If you are on Sprint, which dual-core phone would you choose? The HTC EVO 3D or the Motorola Atrix 4G?

Pc World have picked up of the disaster that has been the Xoom in Australia and now the seven and Nine television networks are looking at covering the story !!!!
There are a growing number of very unHappy Xoom owners around the world with these devices. Telstra have now also put out an official release to warn owners against tampering with there units as contract and warranty terms will be strickly applied with no repairs offered for WiFi/3G units that fail due to owner manipulating!

IMO its about time that there was some news coverage on bungles like this. I hate to say it though, my Optus Xoom on 3.1 is just fine, and while my first one did have loads of dead pixels (and 3.0.1 software) the replacement I received with 3.1 is totally sweet (albeit with some battery drain with Wifi set to on always).
Motorola's excuse for "accidently" releasing 3.1 is a farce though. You only need to look at the Motorola Owners Forum manager's comments sitting on his throne letting people on Telstra know that it was released.... and then almost 5 days later (and 2 days after Telstra pulled the update) he comes in and says it was pulled...
Now those users on Telstra 3.1 are pretty screwed, as the problems are bad, and the all Motorola can say is "an update will be released in the coming weeks"...
LOL @ Motorola
Finally a Voice from Motorola Australia
After days of representations to the Australian Telco provider Telstra to date the major supplier of Xoom WiFi/3G units in Australia, I have received a phone call from a Motorola person from their Melbourne head office. He's even left his name and contact number with me!
He has acknowledged that there have been problems with the 3.1 release to Australians through Telstra, Battery etc. etc.
He has informed me that they have been working around the clock to fix it and has actually given me an acctual DATE 1st August full roll out, subject to the testing process that is being undertaken by Telstra to ensure compatability etc.
Whilst I have been asked for confidentiality on several points from a personal point of view, I have to say that if his word is as good as he says, I now feel happier.
Heaven help Motorola however if he's not
Yet another unkept promise from Motorola.
Moto announced that the RAZR HD Jelly Bean update would be available for Latam users in 2013Q1 (in the general public JB announcement). It has been moved in its US page to 2013Q2, when checking my specific carrier. The local Motorola subsidiary doesn't even say IF the xt925 is going to be updated AT ALL (they just say they don't know anything about a possible update). Meanwile, in the US the previous-gen RAZR already has JB, and here in my country HTC and Samsung users of previous-gen handsets like the Galaxy S2 and Sensation already are running the carrier approved JB update. And with the S4 around the corner, I'll likely see people with handsets from two generations ago running more up to date software than I, having the current Motorola "flag****". Wtf, Moto. Why the discrimination against Latam users? I guess that I can discount that my brand new phone won't be elegible for Android 5, which is right around the corner. Never again purchasing from Googlerola.
Just an FYI about Moto.

Ok, first of all, take a pill, phill.
Second of all, you can already install the Brazilian JB firmware on your phone. Stop saying how other brands have got JB before while Moto did not. Motorola is not the fastest, certainly, but it's getting them faster than LG, Sony, and even some Samsung/HTC phones.
And last but definitely not least, why on earth do you care so freaking much about an update which will make your phone lose your HDMI features and only adds a few useless features (yes I'm talking about Google Now)?
You don't buy a Motorola for software updates, you buy it because of great build quality and call quality/battery life. Everyone knows that.
Anyway, you could just simply be patient, enjoy ICS and hdmi, which you will lose on JB, and wait for "Q2" which is already here and you should see the update in the next 45 days.
*And yes, I am from Latam and Motorola doesn't really discriminate Latam. In fact, we are the only ones with dedicated Moto web pages (they left all Europe except UK, Germany and France).
I often forget how bad it can be outside of the US/Europe. With the big markets and carriers here we usually get the updates first. I'm already on the newer version of JB. Although you need to remember not only do you have to wait for localization but for it to pass through your carrier as well so they can pack their own bloatware in. (An issue I've long dealt with being a Verizon customer, grandfathered unlimited, what can I do?)
Even if you've been pushed a few months you're not missing anything revolutionary. I'd not consider it the jump that GB>ICS was. Just keep in mind it may be your carrier's issue as much as Moto's.
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD MAXX
You should buy unbranded to not depend on your carrier if you want timely updates and LATAM has the xt925 so we can unlock our device's bootloader, the xt926 U.S. guys are not so lucky, all in all I think moto latam is doing ok.
Here is what I just found on LG's website. Not sure how recently this was put up:

Hope that means the official release date and pre-order date are coming REAL soon! Sick of waiting for pricing and availability from Verizon... everyone else has at least SOMETHING out there (and AT&T has the actual phone in stores!).
reps at a store near me say november 5th for release, which makes sense since verizon is slow. also this is dumb that we have to send away for earphones.....it'll probably take a month just to get them lol
