Be aware, when you are removing APKs from the /system/app folder, it is my belief that removing one of the bloatware apps can have ill effects on your 3G connectivity. I nandroid'd right after I flashed the 2.2 ROM, and started removing some apps one by one (CityID, etc.). Once I cranked the phone back on, I could make calls but had no 3G connectivity for data.
It is my belief that this is false as I did the same thing and had no negative effects.
Try another reboot?

Was able to remove the following without an issue:
CityID
FM Radio
VZW_Skype
amazon mp3
Friendstream
VoiceDialer
VoiceSearch
As soon as I removed the following three applications, on multiple reboots my 3G connectivity went the way of the dodo:
Footprints
VZ Navigator
Visual Voicemail
After a reboot, the 3G worked. Maybe I jumped the gun, sorry guys!
Sometimes when I reboot I get no data. Did this right after installing froyo.
I am seeing this too. Used Tether (Wireless Tether, not the built in 2.2 app) and now I can't get my 3g back.
Edit...working again after 3 reboots. Weird
I seemed to have problems keeping my 3g on as well when using wireless tether(market app) but oddly this only happened when using 2.2 ROMs. Not sure what to make of it.

Are you using a custom prl? This has nothing to do with removing apps, I have had a few issues with mobile data before touching anything on the 2.2 leaked rom. I was running the hybrid alltel/vzw prl. I tried reinstalling it, still happened later today. So last thing I've done is *228 option 2 to get my default prl. No idea if this has made a difference yet, but will probably know once I get to work tomorrow.

Hey guys, today I basically re-did the fresh 2.0d rom (Freshly installed), uninstalling some apk from it. Mostly the HTC widgets... I installed Launcher.apk to have a droid like dock.
I am having an issue though, when ever i try and send an mms, I get an error which says "Generic network error". Is the Mms apk not fully supported in this rom?

You are on Sprint, correct? Mms.apk (the one included in fresh) is fully working, no issues at all. Assuming you didn't replace it with something else then it should be fine.
Try updating your profile and prl a couple of times (do profile, then prl, then profile, then prl) and see if it works itself out.

Thanks Flipz, I appreciate the feed back, yes I'm on sprint. Using chompSMS, which to my understanding uses Mms.apk as it's middle man.
Anyways i'll update and get back to you on it. And no i didn't replace it.
EDIT: Also tested it using the default messaging app.
Sorry to double post but apparently that did nothing, I'm beginning to think I should factory reset it.

You could try flashing fresh on top of itself first without a wipe to see if that helps. If not then go ahead and try doing a data wipe. There haven't been any data issues reported and it's been out for quite some time.

Ok it's fixed, I did the profile and pri update a last time just to be sure and it worked.
Ok, now that one bug is down, here is another. When I end a call at times it doesnt make the "BEEP" notifying me the call has ended, (-usually- when i use the end call button on the touch screen) When the beep doesn't sound i instantly know the bug has appeared since I've had it so many times. This bug wont allow me to dial anyone out, or does it? I'm not sure. Why? Because no sound comes out of my speakers. At all, even the tones for adjusting volume.

That's actually a known bug with this leak and affects all roms based on it. It's some type of conflict with HTC music. You can check here for a possible fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=657244

Just like a tootsie-pop.... THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW.
I just launched the market and, instead the third tab reading "Tmobile", it says "downloads". I'm running stock, rooted, and ADW. Anyone else seeing this? Not that it's bad of course, it's an improvement! But it's weird.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Still says T-Mobile for me... Did you flash Eugene's Vibrant ROM? Although you say stock, I know that Eugene modified it to say Downloads again.
No, that's what's weird - after rooting, I didn't do anything other than backup and delete a few apps with Titanium. I'm a noob to rooting and everything, so I only deleted a very few safe apps, too - Telenav and one or two other things. Don't remember exactly what I deleted, but nothing sexy that might cause my phone problems, bloatware only. I thought it might be b/c I had updates waiting, but it's still the same. Weird.
Now it says "T-Mobile" again. Very weird.
Mine goes back and fourth between "Download" and "T-Mobile." Don't really understand why, but I can't complain.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Mine seems to switch depending on whether I have a connection with t-mobile, at my home it's intermittent at best. Sometimes also, to save battery with my poor cell signal, I put the phone in airplane mode and turn on wi-fi, it's always the download button when I have it set that way.
Anyone here seeing some data issues on the D2 running Fission? I am in a major city, and it seem like I am kind of having some data issues since I starting running Fusion, specially when browsing the web. The internet seems to lag a bit, and connection seems a bit slow(good bit slower than normal). I got a message few times relating to the data connection. I want to say this could be a network issue, but my sister with a Droid Inc, says here data is fine? Any ideas?
Called VZW today up asking if there was an issue on their end, and they said no. Tech then told me to take out the battery for 10-15 seconds and they try the internet when back on. Tech said it could be due to the phone not properly switching from one tower to another. It did work, but about 2 hours latter I was having the same connection issue where pages would no open up, and data was a bit on the slow side. Did the same method again, and that worked. I didn't have this issue on the stock D2 rom, or with my Eris(well that always dropped 3G reception, this is full bars with connection problem). Could this be due to me being on Fission 2.2.2, or is it whole different matter not due to being in Fission? Thanks

Im running 2.2.2 and im not having that issue. My girl has a D1 and she gets the same crappy service i get i really dont think its the rom. And i dont think there is enough of a difference between 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 to have one get different reception than the other
Shot from my level 60 crossbow of awesomness!
Maybe it just my phone then? I guess will see what I can do.
Have your tried a root reset with a reinstall?
I have been having this problem, Data will just stop working all together. Text messages won't get sent or delivered. The 3G icon just shows uploading and not downloading or stops showing anything at all. I can't fix it unless I turn on Airplane Mode then back off or reboot the phone. Right now I'm running Fission 2.1 but I ran into Data issues with the default R2D2 rom.

So the issue your having is not related to a fission rom...
So, I may have solved the issue. I started clean again; cleared all data and status and stuff, then reinstalled 2.2.2, and then hard rested. Only thing I did different was not install the black status bar and all seems fine, and data seems normal.

I hate to say this man, but from my experience, the more "stuff" you throw on top of a rom, the more bugs your gonna encounter. And youll never have the same bug twice...
Why is that?

Im not a dev or anything, but here is an example. I was having problems with a rom i was running last night, reboots and such. The very first thing the dev who made the rom asked me was if i was running a theme. Now, im not saying you shouldnt use custom themes or addons with these roms, but every device is different and will react different. And when your flashing 3-4 different themes over a rom trying to find one you like, or flashing addons then trying to undo them your gonna create some issues. Of course, and i remind you again that im not a dev, this is completely based on my experience, and opinion
I guess with themes that can make sense. I wonder what team defused has to say about this?
I seem to be having issues with every ROM concerning cell signal. I can't get 2G/3G signal at all, and can only get 4G signal when in the right area (as expected).
I think it has something to do with my malfunctioning WiFi. It constantly just tries to turn itself on, with no success. I'm quite positive that my WiFi is broken due to hardware problems (internal coaxial cable, etc) as I have flashed several ROMs and radios with no positive results in order to try to fix it. I've even tried unrooting and returning back to stock.
What I was wondering is it possible to permanently disable WiFi on the MT4G so that I can try to get around this issue?
You could flat out take out the wifi radio chip.
Ah, THEindian. To what do you I owe you for the grace of your presence?
The problem with that is really just that I don't have the torque screwdrivers or a phillips small enough to disassemble the phone. I was looking more for a software "fix". I'm not really even positive that the WiFi has anything to do with causing issues with the 2G/3G reception.

Yes. That's the wifi module.
So, I renamed the file to have a .bak extension. It did accomplish what I wanted to (disabling the wifi and preventing it from turning on constantly) but it did not fix the real issue of not being able to recieve 2G/3G signal. I don't know what else to do.

Yes, I am a T-Mobile US customer. APN settings should be correct according to the support docs on the T-Mobile site. I've made a few other adjustments to this ROM's build.prop to the wifi settings. Set it to use eth0 as the interface for a while rather than wlan0. Still hoping there's a software fix for this mess.

That seems to be the only option I have left. I just fear that I'm going to break something and then revert back to using an old Samsung Gravity because that's the only other GSM phone I have. I'll have to find a place that sells small enough torque screwdrivers as well as a phillips head small enough to take off the screw under the "Void" sticker.
Well you could disable on build.prop

Ebay.
I'm actually thinking about using my friend's old unlocked iPhone 3GS for a while (maybe they even refarmed the 1900's around where I live to get 3G by now) until I can scrape up the cash to get a One S.
I'll put the whole story of my phone's downfall here to see if somebody can figure out what it is, or maybe even try to prevent it happening to others.
Bought the phone back in February 2011, and it worked perfectly fine up until April 2012. During this time I was running a Sense 4.0A ROM (can't recall the name) and my phone had died from battery drain. When I charged it up and turned it back on, my WiFi was no longer functioning. It would just repeatedly attempt to turn on and switch itself off again.
I flashed several different ROMs and radios to try to see if I could fix it. No luck. I then suspended my line from T-Mobile's service from June 2012 up until 2 weeks ago. When I had my service restored, I no longer had 2G/3G connectivity. By this, I mean when I'm in an area that does not have 4G coverage, I'm greeted to a "Limited Signal" message and cannot send texts or make calls. If the area has 4G coverage, I can do everything as normal with no problems.
I flashed several other ROMs to see if it was just an issue with that, no luck there either. I then just proceeded to unroot and return to stock. I was never successful in turning the S=ON (none of the guides posted worked) but did lose root privs and bring myself back to Stock Froyo.
None of this has worked so far. Since then, I've re-rooted and reflashed cnote's ICS MIUI build and here I stand.
Go for this thread
No matter what rom I'm on....stock or modified...whether I'm fully wiped or not..."OK GOOGLE" detection stops listening and unchecks itself, (Always on and Personal results turn off).
Restarted, wiped cache, downgraded Google app, etc, etc. This is a major flaw and the ONLY reason I'm unhappy with this phone...isn't anyone else having these issues? H910 here, rooted with DirtySanta. VERY frustrated.
THIS is the closest thing I've seen relating to the bug I'm experiencing....but Accessibility fixes NOTHING. https://www.xda-developers.com/psa-disabling-accessibility-services-breaks-ok-google-feedback/
I don't have that issue. I am using NotSoStock rom on vs995. The only thing I changed was the build prop so that I can use the pixel launcher and google assist.
yes, I see it as well. Out of the blue the Hot Word Detection will be turned off. I am forced to turn it back on. My voice model is still in tact though, have no idea as to why this setting keeps turning itself off either.
curious, are you using TBO Black Out gapps?

The app doesnt seem to be forgetting my voice. The setting just gets turned off for what ever reason. When I toggle it back ON its not asking to train, so the voice remains there.
edit...I have a android wear device (smart watch) with the "OK Google" enabled. maybe it gets turned off on my v20 in favor of the wear device.

I had it on that rom, too. Worked, no updates at all, no system apps restored from Titanium...then stopped. Tried all of the "solutions" I found online, none worked. Yup I had thought I may have fixed it once - but turns out it still switches off on me too. I'm on H910 with NSS ROM. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the kernel if yours is working currently on complete stock. But at least it does work on my home screen so I dont really mind much.
But yeah when going into the settings and switching Always On to ON state, and then when you go back in - the app freezes up for awhile (like about 30secs to a minute). Then it comes back up, but the Always On is toggled OFF again.
Edit: or maybe it is due to being a deODEX'ed ROM? I know occasionally issues happen for different apps when its deODEXed.
