First impressions by a Esato member
Changes in the 026 firmware - initial impressions:
1) Timescape much faster and smoother. Sharper photos i feel. Even setting "Timescape as Home" - much less lag than before... Setting timescape as home might be considered by me now
2) Themes still the same - only in Timescape - cannot be used for the entire android interface...
3) Mediascape loads noticeably faster. Smoother scrolling of the photos.
4) TrackId still there - working fine
5) PlayNow has been taken off. No more playnow for me. can't find it anywhere - not integrated in mediascape either
6) Creatouch Icon Seems different .. not sure
7) There is some weird "com.sonyericsson" icon now in my application drawer - clicking on it seems to do nothing but force close the android application and everything reloads again...

Flash the generic update posted in the rom-thread. By the looks of it that is a legit nordic rom. It works just fine for me in .se anyways so I imagine it'll work for you too.
It's Swedish and Telenor branded..
The Update in Germany is only for O2 Phones at the moment.
The generic OK Version misses important German social networks in Timescape, but u can use it without problems!

Oh, oops. I didn't notice the Telenor bit since it's my carrier. But I thought there were no country-specific updates but rather just regional updates, like nordic etc.
Well, the more you live the more you learn. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanx ddew & McKebapp, I was thinking that but then i got that it's Telenor branded :-/ i assume, May be it does not make any difference if it is Swedish or Norwegian, but Telenor branded? Even Telenor is not my carrier
Lets keep this for 026 firmware pros and cons

* The options in the camera app are slightly different. I had previously set mine to tag images, but with the update, that was reset.(Murmeljenta)

I'll definitely agree with these (can't comment on the others yet). My system feels amazingly fast compared to how it did under 023. I can navigate FolderOrganizer as quickly as I select folders, whereas under 023 there was a delay each time it drew a folder. Everything just feels much more responsive.

Did you get the 026 firmware through SEUS, or did you root to it?
Because if you rooted to it, then the issue is with your root and not the firmware. Lack of paid apps is common after rooting. It often fixes itself within 24 hours, or requires some extra steps to fix.
I got it from seus no root and the application I an talking about is available if you switch back to 23 moreover this is a free application used for removing market search history.

Stupid autolock after call remains
I lost apps by updating to 026 also, I backed up my apps but some are "private" and cannot be backed up as a result I lost them and when searching the market they are not there. This includes ASTRO Pro, Tapatalk Pro and PayPal.
My phone is not rooted but I did de-brand it using Omnius, back to 016 at the moment as I have those apps back with 016.
This very annoying as the phone was improved on 020.

I agree - this is becoming ridiculous! Why wont SE fix the in call volume??? Instead they add extra software rather than fixing the biggest problem IMO of the X10 that you cant hear people when trying to make a call! This is infuriating me!

Yep. I've been rooted since they released the 023 root method. Rogers is too slow with releasing firmware updates, and I've been looking for some battery issues to be resolved (as well as wanting WiFi tethering and the ability to scrap all the SE preloaded software).

So i just updated my phone to 4.0.a.2.368 and i noticed a lot of really nice changes. Since there aren't any official notes (or at least not ones i can find) i will be posting changes i noticed here along with personal opinion on some of them without a particular order...
xLOUD-The soundspeaker loudness is greatly increased and the sound is so much better.
Media Player-When you play a song the backround of the player changes to a color most noticable in the album art
-looks great
Infinity Button Upgraded-You can now search for artist on wikipedia, lyrics on google and karaoke videos on youtube.
-Finally the button is useful
Lock Animation-It is changed to an old-style tv turn off
-It looks great and kinda gives nostalgia
App Refresh on Reboot-Before i updated my phone every time i rebooted it I had to let it ''sit'' for 5 minutes so it loads all the apps from the sd card and if you opened the menu you would have to reboot it again...but now it shows an icon on every non-loaded app that quickly refreshes to give the real app
-yes yes yes my brother always said its the worst thing about this phone so now i can rub it in his face
Themes-Basically like wallpaper but changes the background of some apps like Messaging
Messaging-Now it opens up so much faster and has a different boot animation
Call handling-You can now manage what calls you receive and block
-I was always wondering why wasn't this already included,i mean all my older phones have it
Timescape-Doesn't freeze when you move the widget and scrolls a lot smoother,in addition Extension Manager has been added so you can get more content to Timescape from more sites and you can also see calls and messages.
Wireless Radio-It seems like its power is increased and you don't get disconnected from older routers altho i haven't been able to test this longer than 30 minutes.
Status switch Widget-The old 4x1 has been replaced with a new 3x2 one
-It looks ugly and it messed up my perfect widget arrangement
Weather widget-Pretty self explanatory
-Now i can delete space-consuming Weatherbug
Favorites and Recent Calls Widget-Also self explanatory
-Its huge but i guess it is useful and at least looks nice
Be sure to add stuff you notice and i will update more stuff tomorow
Be sure to say thanks...as you can see I'm a noob and a pioneer from my country
Already a thread about it. ;-)

@nelly_boy & Xplay. If you have uninstalled anything from your phone after rooting. The ota update will fail.
As you have said nelly_boy you will have to reflash to 2.3.2 to get the stuff you deleted back then root then do the ota to get 4.0.a rooted.
@Xplay. You dont have to unroot to ota update. The whole point of updating using ota is to keep root.

New Update guys!!
PDA:KI4 / Phone:KI1 /CSC:KH1 (CPW)
*Edit Just did the update!
Definitely 2.3.4. First things that catch my eye:
* Bolder fonts... I personally think it looks clearer now.
* Power widget is different, it is combined into a 4 square pane now.
* Email icon for exchange/pop looks similar to gmail icon now.
* Pattern-lock screen shows a clearer, bigger trail and direction as you draw on the screen.
* MTP is a background process, after upgrading phone wasn't recognised until restarted and replugged, then different driver installed?
* Colour gradation effect is a bit less apparent.
* Scrolling between home screens is lagging a little bit Most noticeable on the first and second screens, especially where I have widgets.
* App screen scrolling, and pulldown notification menu is definitely faster.
* Videos can be watched in portrait! Convenient but really squishy. Nice nonetheless...
* Web Browser has slightly different keypad sounds when typing and deleting characters.
* Checking for OTA update straight from phone has much more options.
* Icons on settings screen look slightly different!
* No change to GTalk, no video...
* My top-left-side yellow display tint has automagically disappeared! <- This is the most impressive thing, I had it quite bad, didn't believe that this was caused by software, but for me since the update, I can't tell that this yellow tint had ever been there!!
Will update with more changes soon...
So is this 2.3.4 or 2.3.5 or another 2.3.3?
Looks like it's 2.3.4
Gutted, cannot upgrade yet because my battery is too low! lol...
Same as the release which has been available for a few days in Kies "Test Mode".

Nice little battery charging % indicator under the clock on lock screen too.. Pretty sure that wasn't there before.
That's odd, % charge indicator has always been there for me on pattern-lock, although I've noticed that the little charge/plug icon itself has changed!

If after downloading the firmware kies says 'can't recognise phone, remove cable, remove phone battery & plug cable in again' (or words to those affect) do this then click on 'troubleshooting'. Kies will go through a 4 stage process, reinstalling the drivers then should update your phone.

Arrived on mine too about a hour ago and I'm not impressed! Swiftkey and browsers are making it a mare to get them to work together, still having problems editing text boxes too - it still won't place the cursor where you press! Where the hell is ICS Samsung?
The OTA update failed for me, doing it via Kies now. Is it because I have rooted?
Downloaded and just installing now. Will let you know how it goes.
Just finished installing and everything seams fine. Should i do a factory reset people?
Installed through Kies and it worked. Lost root and CWM recovery but that's simple to get back. Now the wait for ICS begins lol
still odd behaviour even after a reboot, quick reply on this site doesn't work full stop! Anyone else got this?
Got the update last night, everything working for me fine. Bit annoyed Google Books is now preinstalled but I can live with it. I noticed Kobo Book reader was also installed so got rid of that and another couple of new apps i have never heard of.
Is it advisable to do a factory reset as others have suggested?
upgraded to 3.2 today
Thanks to this thread I saw the upgrade was available and just upgraded
I have looked for the upgrade regularily.. then stopped as i got bored of looking.
Interestingly I didn't get the over the air notification that it was avialable like I did for the last upgrade.
I'm on a Vodafone supplied GT7500
First impression after an hour : very minor functional changes, minor aesthetic changes, reasonable speed improvement.
I have a lot of background apps, adw launcher with 9 screens full of widgets so my tab was starting to get pretty laggy. Now its significantly better.

Download the latest official p7500XX firmware (not sure which is the latest official) from here and use odin to flash. Do a factory reset after flashing.
Download the CSC Select app off the Market after flashing and choose XEU. This will also factory reset your device so dont customise it yet and cancel any automatic market downloads.
This thread is about the p7510 as it has just received the 3.2 update whereas the p7500 has had 3.2 for a month or two.

My impressions after a full wipe:

The UAString sets the browser as desktop or mobile.
I have just done the over the air update, download was just under 100Mb and the update took about 1/2hour with the tablet turning off completely and me having to turn it on holding the power for a few seconds, then it sat at the Samsung logo for ages before eventually starting up.
Initial impressions are very good.
Much smoother, even when the free RAM is low
Haven't tried live wallpapers yet!
The Memo app is better for finger input, faster response, almost there
Sketchbook Pro drawing app is still a bit slow in drawing
AntiPaper is also slow at drawing, compared with Memo - weird
Browser is much improved, more accurate touch, smoother scrolling though still a bit of a rubber band in content catching up with my finger movements when scrolling
New update to Google Books but still no highlighting, definition, notes like they have in the Chrom Google Books App - I suppose it will come eventually
A few issues for me, can someone check these as I may have to root, titanium backup and factory reset...
The default Video Player doesn't open
Samsung Hub doesn't open and hangs
EDIT:
Last night the tab rebooted itself and since then the default Video Player has been operating as normal !!!
Just a warning to anyone who is using titanium. Copy all the folders you want to keep, including titanium, on your pc.
If you do a factory reset (recommended) after flashing, as I did yesterday, you will lose *everything* on your sdcard. I had an old backup from November on my pc, took me hours to bring everything back to date. And I lost all my progress on a couple of games.... *grumble*.
Otherwise I agree it's a definite improvement. And I liked how they finally fixed honeycomb bar, now it disappears nicely when watching videos, so I don't have to use an extra app as root to hide it.
It has also arrived in Norway
