... even with the volume control at minimum. Does someone know if there is an application to fine regulate it?

I have Sennheiser CX300 II and no problems here at all with stock music player. Check everything once again, perhaps you're doing something wrong...
I have no problem with music, just with some applications. I just can't set a volume as low as i can with the ipod touch

Is there any software or anything to increase audio gain in these devices? I'm using the stock ROM and when I plug a cable from my car into my headphone jack on it the sound doesn't get hardly loud at all. The volume is all the way up on the Transformer and yet my iPod is a lot louder than it is. Would using bluetooth be any better? My car doesn't have bluetooth but they sell a module just didn't know if it would. :/

Thanks! I'll give it a try tomorrow. Also I don't really know much about audio but would bluetooth be any better (quality wise) than using the headphone jack, or would there be no significant difference in that respect?
I have apps called "Equalizer" and "DSPManager" and they each seem to do the trick. Is there any advantage to one or the other (including Volume+ as well) though?

Quiet :-( on some roms, I can't hardly hear anything with the volume all the way up and holding it to my ear, other roms are better, but still not as loud as it used to be before I diverted from stock. I've tried to flash my stock backup and it was loud as ever until I hit the volume controls, then it got half as loud, but still at max volume.
I have tried volume+, it didn't do jack but distort everything, and my luck seems a tad better on sense roms (which is not a problem at all, I <3 me some sense).
Is there anything in the build.prop that I can tweak to get that burst of loud at the first play on a new rom? Or is it just....well, my luck, to say the least that I have a **** speaker?

If your talking about an AOKP ROM there was a problem with their build 39... Build 40 fixes those audio problems based on their changelog
if your talking about a volume problem based on a port from the desire family they usee low audio files than we do.

Even on your rom that was supposed to be wake the neighbors loud :-( the ones that are desire based aren't too bad, but even the sensation ports were quiet. I'm beginning to wonder if its my phone :-(

Sounds like it is your phone. As a last resort you could try flashing a PD15IMG. If it doesn't work on stock, it's not going to work.

I have an issue with a belkin bluetooth car receiver that I'm impossible to change the call volume. Media volume works great. I don't know if it's an incompatibility with android or the device is defective. Tried with 2 other android smartphones (motorola) and had the same issue. They were running cm7. Was thinking it was a driver issue and tried changing to another brand.
But only with an iphone 3g I could control volume. All android smartphone I get a very very loud volume and it's impossible to use.

Is there any code that's shared between phones, like inside phone.apk. Maybe there's a solution?
hi, I found this somewhere in the forum, have you ever tried it?
it's like dsp-manager, but I think this one sound better over my headset, deep bass, clear treble.
especially when i switch the Virtualizer slider to 100%, feels like in the real concert
Nice 1 ill give it a go cheers

don't forget to disable dspmanager.
note : there is a problem this will also set speaker equalizer.
so i think we need to turn this off when not in use.

is this equalizer also for phone calls with the normal speaker? (not external speaker)
only on external speaker, your ringtones may sounds weird when you set bass / treble to high.

I do not like how the S4 (9505) is pausing my headphone music / podcasts and then playing the whistle / notification out of the SPEAKERPHONE speaker annoying people around me on public transit.
WHY on earth is it doing this and not playing it through my headphones only?
Furthermore, what I'd actually prefer is the music / podcast I'm listening to, simply drops in volume slightly and the notification comes in - at aneven lower volume, just to let me know - 2 channels at the same time.
Anyone know if this is possible or of any notification adjustments I can do?
I think that is so you can notice the notification/ring when you forget to unplug your earphones. Good design.
I agree with you about pausing music. It should just play them together with lower volume for music.

Really good design would be to give the end user a choice between the two methods

Or you can mute the device from notifications panel.

I am using Poweramp, there is an option in the settings to prevent this.

I see your point re: the earphones but I kind of don't personally care about that. Do you know if it's possible to have the 2 played together? (I'd actually like the notification to be the quieter one - just so I can hear it just during my music)

I detest that program, it corrupted the data on my SD card - I told them about it, they didn't care because it was a rare error.
Besides, it should be a system wide setting, anyone know if it's possible to have notifications just play alongside the current audio stream?
Guys, I had issues with the speaker volume, but they somehow fixed themselves. Yesterday I tried to listen to some music and my headphones were barely audible outdoors at full volume. I'm quite sure the headphones are fine, as they are rather loud when plugged into my wife's iPhone, but with Nexus 4 I get may be 1/3rd of their usual volume at 100% slider setting.
I tried to search on the forum and Google it, but could find a guide to fix this issue. Has anyone encountered and successfully fixed low 3.5mm jack volume?
I would appreciate your suggestions! Thanks!
Are you rooted?
If yes you can try an audio mod like xLouder or Viper4Android.
If not you can use poweramp to boost everything although it will probably sound like ****.

Thanks for your response!
I'm not rooted, running fully stock. I don't really need to boost *everything*, just the headphone output, it's the only thing that has low volume.
