Yesterday I flashed my Leo with a custom ROM. Everything works great except that the weather animation (on the Home tab) displays only once. Any idea how to loop it? Maybe a specific key in the registry? Any help will be appreciated as this is the last thing I need to do to be complete
Unless I misunderstood your original question (sorry in advance if I did!):
I'm pretty sure to conserve battery life the weather animation only happens once, if you press the windows button to access the menu, then back to the home screen it then restarts the weather animation for one cycle, as does coming out of the lock screen.
I'm not sure if there is a registry edit that allows it to go on loop, I would be interested in this as well actually.
Exactly - it would be really great to loop this animation.

Hello *@*,
I think the battery icon in the taskbar of my Touch HD is possessed by a demon or something. :-|
It is spontaneously disappearing every now and then - pressing the home button always brings it back at once, though. Also doing anything else that updates the taskbar brings it back to life. The disappearance seems completely random.
I can even switch off the battery icon completely with Schaps Advanced Config and display the clock instead. Which is disappearing just the same way. All other icons are behaving normally.
And before anyone suggests a hard reset - guess what happend right after the hard reset I did today, when the HTC booted up for the first time and before I did anything a all?
Right.
Any ideas?

Hmm, can you take your phone to a church and see if it acts up there?
J/K, well my battery icon only shows in the home screen. In other screens, it is replaced with by the little clock. I think that is normal. But it sounds like your battery icon disappears even in the home screen?
Do you (or did you) have anything installed that changes the icons? If you installed the green battery icon cab, did you install the certificate included in that zip file before installing the battery icon cab?
It's weird, that even after a hard reset it would still do it.

At this point, I am considering a bath in holy water.
The vanishing takes part on the homescreen, or rather all the touchflow screens. Installing different battery icons does not help. ArielBattery works, though. It seems to me as if the process responsible for drawing the taskbar icons is "forgetting" to update just the battery icon sometimes. I am quite sure this didn't happen when the phone was new - but a hard reset didn't help.
I had the same problem (I have color top bar icons and green battery icon), but a soft reset fixed it.
You can try uninstalling anything related to that.
Then Soft-reset.
After that, try installing the cabs I installed.
Soft-reset again and see if that works.
Note: Before installing the battery icon tab, make sure you install the sdkcertificate cab included or else you'll have problems with it.
I found all these cabs here in the forum, but I'll post them here for you in case you want to try. You can try just the battery cab (but first sdkcert cab) or also that try the color top bar cab to change the other icons as well.
use magicbutton, its freeware - its a great task switcher and has an optional great power indicator, which is a simple 1 pixel line across the top of the screen... so when its fully charged, you see a white line across the whole screen at the top. If its running low, its not as long and shrinks towards the left hand edge by the start menu.
Much easier to see at a glance than the power icon which appears and reappears at will sometimes!
mine does this i tihnk it is normal but i dont get a little clock it just disappears and nothing replaces it?
pls !! the warrantty will not cover any kind of water contact.. even holy !
Okay, I think I am being super parnoid... But does anyone else have the following situation...
So when you press start, then home... the clock flips over and the top part of the screen where the notifications are held flickers ever so slightly... The minute part of the clock flips over fine, but halfway through the hour part flips over the animation stutters ever so slightly... I think this is also tied in with the weather application when it fully takes over the screen etc.
Is this normal.....?
I think I am just being paranoid.
It's SIM free on O2 and happens when i'm on Wifi or not
in my HD2 it is like
change hour, nice
change minute, nice
change minute again, stutter few frames.
Exactly the same. wonder why but oh well. thanks
anyone knows how to get rid of this problem?
you can install a cab to stop the clock from flipping excessively when you return to the homescreen.
just search for it under Leo themes subforum
there you go

For some reason the graphic for HTC People - HTC Calander and HTC Music have disappeared in the start menu and shows a blank white window with its blue border. Even though this isn't a major problem I've set a Quick Link from the home screen to music and showing that white window loses the eye candy. Also the slider icons are working fine so its not a problem there. I'm sure if I reset the ROM it will fix it but I was wondering if there was another way to do this instead of having to lose everything and start again...
Thanks in advance !!
I dont know a solution, but partly the same icon problem here; HTC People icon in white/blue, Calendar icon okay, Music icon not there.
So you're not alone Ashley
Just reinstalled the ROM and its all back to normal, guess we couldn't fine a workaround no worries though !
any fixes without reflash.
did you try Change Start Menu Icons?

just deleted them, thanks for the info
I have a questions for the folks here that use the Liberty ROM. I dont know exactly how to describe my problem, but I will do my best.
With the liberty ROM, there is a CRT screen effect when you hit the lock screen button on the top of the phone, once you hit that button the phone then displays what you would see if you turned off a CRT TV.
I just updated to Liberty 3 v 1.0 and everything was good and dandy until I changed the font and boot animation through the ROM Toolbox. Once I rebooted the CRT effect disappeared.
Is anybody else having this problem? I have searched everywhere and do not see any type of setting for this CRT effect. Is there a way to change the boot amination/font and still keep this feature?

From your home screen try menu>settings>display>animation>all animations
I have noticed that on the STOCK Rom for HTC Wildfire Buzz, a strange little feature (Not much of a feature) from a video I watched on HTC Sense was on it.
Basically, you have the 4X4 weather widget on the top left panel (first panel) and press home. When you're on your centre home screen, using the trackball quickly slide left through ALL the panels until you reach the weather widget panel. If you timed it right, the weather will show it's animation and then the screen will slowly slide back to the main panel (doesn't work every time) just like the video.
Anybody else noticed this? Or am I the only one...

Sorry, doesn't work EVERY time.
And, is it a CUSTOM rom? I think it only works with the Stock rom.
And, no. You're meant to put the widget down, the quickly press home before the animation starts. That way it is bound to show when you next hit the page...
