New i9000 Firmware root question :) - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi,
I just updated to Froyo and was wondering if there is any way to root it... i tried the usual way with the same update.zip but had a "mounting prob" msg...
Any news?

I reply to myself... this rom is pre-rooted but no busybox and no way to install it using the market...
Checking... any help would be nice

Rooting / custom recovery for FRF91?

I have an unlocked N1 that I rolled back to stock O/S and recovery to get the official FRF91.
Now I can't seem to find a SuperBoot / Root package for FRF91 ... and I can't get the custom recovery on (I think I need to do the root 1st).
Anyone know where I can find a package or am I just not being patient enough?
I assume you want rooted the build frf91 from paul at modaco forums?

Thanks for the links.
I finally found an FRF91 root update package and was able to get the recovery working as well.
A lot of the stuff out there still seems to be FRF85b ... just took a while to filter it through.
can you post a link to the one the rom you got? I'm having the same trouble looking for a rooted 91 rom...

Thank you all
Help, anyone?
havea a look at the rooting thread i nthe dev section, you might need to downgrade as i dont think that one is directly rootable
why this method wont work ? -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
supposed to be the easiest !

[Q] Where has the old rooting method gone ?

Hi guys
Ive just had my phone replaced and as a result I need to re-apply my root file,
My problem is I haven't been on the forum for a while and now I cant seam to find it.
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 which would be fine, if i could work out what CF-root version I need for android ver 2.3.5
Could someone point me to the old thread with the root file ? ( placed at root of phone, 3 button & apply method)
Or
Could someone link me to the relevant CF Root file? (already have odin & thread above has everything I need to carry it out apart from the file.)
Also apologies in advance if Ive overlooked something or being an idiot, figured this would be straight forward
What's your firmware version?
Sorry I didn't really make it very clear in the beginning, Im using an Orange branded phone and i cannot find the relevant code for my build. I am still pretty new to all this having only previously run versions of Darky rom.
Here is the vital info :
Android Version 2.3.5 ( I read in another thread superoneclick is incompatible with 2.3.5 due to the boot-loader may be locking with gingerbread, anyone confirm this ? )
Bulild Number :Gingerbread.BVJVC
Basically I was looking to root my phone because I want to swap over to Hellybean & also purchase a few of the well known root apps ie CWM, Titaniam backup, These are so I can backup the existing phone in a reversible condition should it be needed later down the line.
I know I don't need to have root access to flash to Hellybean, but I do in order to make those security backups ill need root.
Anyone Help ?
The reason why you didn't find a CF-root kernel is, that the thread you found is for the S2. In the S1 thread, you'll find what you're looking for.

[Q] will this method work for rooting our device

hi guys just new here at htc glacier forum so be patient with me.
here's the thing:
i wanted to root my friends phone with information as stated below:
software info
android version 2.3.4
htc sense ver 2.1
software number
2.32.531.1
kernel version 2.6.35.10-g4dbcb781 [email protected] #1
this is what i am thinking for rooting the said device:
1. by downloading and flashing this CWM
link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242901
2. after flashing the CWM i will try to boot on CWM and flash the flashable SuperSU.zip downloaded here at xda.
my question is, WILL THIS METHOD WORK?

I've been trying to find a way to root this phone for about a week now. All the guides I've found on here are either outdated or having missing files. And haven't had anyone reply to my post for help. If you find a way I'd appreciate it if you could let me know, and if I find anything that works I'll let you know. Good luck.
