i9000 Hardware specs - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi there,
I can't find detailed information about the i9000 chipset
What I know :
S5PC110 SoC which includes :
CPU : ARM Cortex-A8 1 Ghz
GPU PowerVR SGX540
S5PC100 spec sheet <=== Not the right SoC we have in our beloved smartphones ^^
block diagram: (can't insert image as a new user)

What's missing :
GPS/Wifi/BT/Radio/FM components.
Anyone got information regarding these components ? or maybe others interesting to mention here ?
Thanks
EDIT : quoted the links which points to S5PC100, as S5PC110 datasheet is not publicly available yet.

GPS FM BT (not confirmed) broadcom BCM20751 (i suspect inside Samsung B-B23)
DAC wolfson WM8994

Thanks for your reply.
some more research pointed me to another broadcom component that may be embedded into SWB-B23 => BCM4329 (but this one has no GPS)
These IC seems to embed an FM transmitter as well. I'd like to confirm this point, as it may be interesting to exploit.

Doesn't already have a built in radio app? Mine does

You have an inbuilt FM radio app and the SGS has emition capabilities too. I love listening to my mp3 on my car

slightly off-topic but anyway...
I must have missed something then.
How do you transmit audio played by Samsung mp3 player on your SGS to your car audio system ?

I would love to know how to transmit my mp3s and audiobooks to my car radio fm tuner too!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

must be secret function since I can't find it in the manual/review site ?

Probably through bluetooth..?

Unfortunately my car audio system does not receive anything else than AM/FM frequencies..

i do it via bluetooth, or as an USB mass storage device.
it depends on your Car's Deck Receiver

Alijones implied that he uses the fm transmitter rumoured to be in the i9000.

nooooo the SGS i9000 comes with a FM radio to listen, not to transmit.

isnt it 1GHz?

667mhz is at 1.2V
No one said you can't up the voltage to 1.22v or something like that and get a higher frequency.
Also, the link is a bit wrong.
It's leading to the S5PC100, while in the galaxy S we have the S5PC110

You're right... the link is wrong... sorry for this, i'll remove it ASAP.
Btw S5pc110 is not publicly available yet... we'll have to wait.

Display Chip in Trinity

Does Trinity have an ATI display Chip as Hermes did? If not, which chip is inside Trinity?
Thanks.

The chipset used in the Trinity (Qualcomm 6275) does contain a graphics processor, however based on the outcome of benchmarks (pre production models) we may assume that the graphics processor part is not active yet.
Follow the link for a more detailed description of the chipset.

Thanks for your answer.
As far as I know, Hermes also equipped with this chipset, but it seems the chipset has never been activated in hermes. I really wonder if the functionalities of Qualcomm 6275 would be activated in Trinity.
Would the processing power of samsung CPU (400Mhz) alone be able to decode MP4 video at 30fps?
Thanks again.
It should as I am doing that on my Wizard using pocketDVD Studio and TCPMP player using the wizards 200Mhz. CPU. It gets choppy sometimes but only during intense scenes and lasts only for a second or 2. I think it is still watchible though. Hope this helps.

flashing asian ROMs, FM found??

curious if anyone has flashed any of the asian ROMs and found the FM radio chip in our VIbrant?
IIRC its not a software issue, the vibrant doesn't have the hardware. Though it wouldn't be the first time an FM radio was hidden in a phone.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
was hoping it had been found to still be there
I thought the same chip by Broadcom was used in all Galaxy S variants that integrates BT, GPS and FM radio
http://www.intomobile.com/2010/02/1...-with-media-playback-and-recording-functions/
I really have no idea about the hardware, but maybe that's why there is problems with the GPS, they didn't use the chip that has the BT/GPS/FM in it and used something else that took out the FM part and screwed up the GPS. Just a wild off the wall speculation.
there was an initial post by TravUK identifying the chipset as the Broadcom BCM 20751 and that is a 3 way chip (BT/GPS/FM)
but later he corrected that as a mistake - others found in the UK version of the i9000 and the US Tmobile delivered Vibrant (T959) and i believe in the AT&T Captivate, that the chip was a Broadcom 4751, which is a singular function chip, GPS only
so the FM chip must reside by itself or with the BT chip
I guess without doing the full autopsy we won't know what chipset they used unless someone who knows inner land of Samsung can leak it - bummer, I wish there was dmesg or similar output that you can parse to get the idea of the hardware used.
As said the BCM 4751 is the gps chip, not the aforementioned 20751. However, the phone still needs a wifi/bluetooth chip, and from one of the captivate threads I believed it was identified as the BCM4325, which also has fm capability. I think it is the only broadcom chip with bluetooth 3.0 and wifi b/g/n. So fm has to be on the chip. Whether or not everything is still connected on the pcb is still a question, but there doesn't seem to be any reason for samsung to have changed anything if they're still using the same chips.
Even if the chip supported FM, there is a lot more to it in terms of powering those circuits, integrating them into the audio circuitry, and providing leads for an antenna. Even if you could "activate" the chip you may not be able to pick up anything or hear anything.

so: what is a clone? and it's possible to port android on mega with clone os?
Most of the clones are phones that use the same design of other ones from popular companies (like HTC, Samsung, Apple, etc.). I say design because they don't use the same hardware (maybe some one do).
I have looked at the videos and in one of them they say the specs and the processor isn't the same as the HTC Touch 2 so it can't help because we'r stuck in haret.exe. I don't understand of this but in conclusion haret.exe is the boot loader for android and without it we can't run android on the device. As example there are other phones that use the same hardware but processor (even other ones with the same processor) and haret.exe is still crashing.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Let's hope RDilus achieve it. Also the problem with our phone is that it's not popular nor used by people and this is why there are few people interested in it.
Edit: Those are the specs from the clone:
Hot Spots
Dual sim cards dual standby smart phone
Operating system:Windows Mobile 6.5
CPU: MediaTek MT6516 460MHz <----- That's why it won't help.
RAM:128M,ROM:256M,extend to 16 GB max
Built in GPS and support voice navigation
Quadband GSM:850/900/1800/1900 MHZ
WIFI high-speed Internet connectivity
FM radio
Bluetooth A2DP
USB:Mini USB port
3.5mm standard audio output jack
Language:English/Italiano/Spanish/Russian/Chinese
etc.
Also it has accelerometer lol
Rdilus told me the porting is bad...PHONE ****!!!

Galaxy tab10.1 bluetooth is actually 4.0 not 3.0 (teardown link )

As we see in the tear down of the galaxy tab 10.1 (see link ) it contains the Broadcom BCM4330 (BCM4330XKFFBG) whis is according to its data sheet is a dual band wifi chip with bluetooth 4.0 support , i don't think it will make a difference but i just wanted to mentioned it for you

3 or 4 doesnt matter because I tested bluetooth through galaxy s2 and the speed was very slow. I think bluetooth 3 speed should be around 24Mb/s or (3MB/s) but what I got was 1/10th of that
I have read an article that the 24Mb/s is a theoretical. Number which needs some kind of amplifiers but on normal devices 2.1 acts like 3.0 & 4.0

I sent a mail to you. But it couldn't be sent by address obscurity.
Please tell me a right mail address.

Wow, those are some impresive specs... What brand is this device? And it seems one company understood that there are a lot of audiophiles that were waiting for such radio like this with so many audio adjustments to fine tune the sound, who otherwise chooses for expensive brands like Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer or Clarion.
Main question is, how good does this device work with the rest of the components like the radio FM/AM reception, the DAB+, the GPS, does it have voice control, does it support Android auto, does it have a sun reflective coating on the screen, and how good is the hardware on the main board and software support.
It looks too good to be true ..... peterchan2003 do not tear us nerves ... give more details !
Im also interested in this HU. Do you have a website or at least show some pictures?

Very interested
Is there any update to this product? Any more specs?
Interested indeed, however you need to put more information out
More comments from OP on the youtube video than this thread According to replies there, "released at the end of this month" I think meaning end of June. We'll see.......
Kudos for the volume knob! Do you also make right hand drive version?
The GEQ looks good. It's nice to have parametric control in a native EQ app.
OTOH, the media player looks horrible. That spinning turntable graphic is painfully annoying. Album art should go in that space.
What has this OP provided us that isnt the same as all the resellers that pop up here? Can we expect anything different such as warranties that do not require exorbitant return freight, source code, quality hardware etc or the same quirky MTCB and MTCD such as indash, hotaudio etc.
Suggest not to expect anthing but the same hollow promises.
Totally agree. OP notes via email is that while there be firmware updates, Android Auto is not supported. So looks like device is based on Android 4.x MCU sub-system which is rather ridiculous considering how the benefits Android 7.x offers, beside Android Auto.
Another aside, is how stable, and usable the basic apps are. Built-in DSP means custom apks. Will third party music players, usb/aux/bluetooth connected devices, be able to use it without any quirks is remain to be seen.

The screenshot of CPU-Z says SDK 23 which is MM, so its not KK based, its MM based.
Sellers usually know very little about their products, Android Auto could probably be made to work on it, but whats the point in buying an android headunit if you wanna use Android auto on it anyway ? - You may as well buy a "dumb" Android auto headunit, is just just screen mirroring and a full Android headunit is capable of far more than that.
