gameloft and roms - Desire Themes and Apps

Hi,
Does anyone knows what append with Gameloft games when testing different ROMs?
Is it lose?
Can it be backed up and restored to the new rom?
Thanks

YEs, you have to use Titanium Backup to backup, update your ROM and then restore the backups.

Are you sure this will work ? I don't want to buy a game that I can't use anymore if I decide to switch from one rom to another and I've read that Gameloft have some kind of DRM which block the game.
Thx

If you backup with titanium and copy sd content to pc, you can relax.
Even if you partition your card and change rom, everything will be there once you copy sd content back and restore it: saved profiles, files that you needed to download from the internet...

everything you buy off the market is saved in your account history, kinda like on xbox live so even if you buy a new fone you can still re download all your apps, and even use paid apps on more than one fone

Yes, but only a handful of Gameloft games are on the Market. The rest you can only get from Gameloft themselves, and they only allow a single download.
Regards,
Dave

Yes i'm sure about TB...otherwise i won't be answering.
Plus Gameloft manage most of their games from their website, not the market.
Some users reported that they had such an issue (didn't backup their games...) and they contacted them.
Providing the day/hour and purchase info they got everything back.

Ok thanks for the info.

Just to tell that I've bought nova from gameloft wap store and it is priced 4.5€ instead of 5 using regular gameloft website.
Nova works fine. After having played fps on ipod touch tbh the multitouch is really annoying but this should be ok with time.
Nice game.

Hi ho,
I have a problem with this game and I am aware that other users face the same problem, which is that the game does not load. I had tried all methods of installing it, wether it's installing normally letting the APK download the content files automatically from the Gameloft server or manually placing the data files onto the SD card, but either way there is a problem. I tried one version which successfuly installed all data files but when launching it is simply doesn't want to start up, in other cases the downloading just hangs at 80-90%.
I saw youtube videos, which showed that the desire was cable of running, it but I'm not sure how, maybe it was running Froyo or simply theres a way to hack your through it.
I ask anyone in the same situation if they have solved the problem, so far I am able to play Fifa 10 (EA), Asphalt 5, Real Football 2010, NFS: Shift, flawlessly.
Thanks.
Decco.
i have it installed currently but after some playing...it lags a bit...i think this is due to the adreno gpu

Could you tell me, how I could go about installing it successfully, using your method. I do hope that your HTC is not rooted or tampered with.

no. But, I do not see if this should be a problem as the data was downloaded directly from Gameloft servers.
Anybody......?
The pirated version you use is probably an older version. They did have some problems with earlier versions not working but the latest releases all work fine. Just buy it.

To my suprise, the link you provided worked perfectly without any hiccups. I had downloaded the same version from another site, but I have a feeling it was missing some files.
Tbh, the game is a big dissapointment, however...I got Assasins Creed which is Uber-Awesome.
Thanks Malctron and others for your help.
this is applanet's problem, not gameloft

Can't connect to gameloft

Have not had any success in connecting to gameloft. Each time it tells me no games available. I believe others have been able to purchase games. I have a US At&t tab. Is this not supported yet or am i doing something wrong?

I got Asphalt HD, Sandstorm, Dungeon Hunter, Hero of Sparta and Gangstar from gameloft.com not the market on my Sprint Galaxy tab--have no idea.
The reason there aren't any apps available from the gameloft website for download on the AT&T tab is because AT&T doesn't allow sideloading of apps that aren't from the android market. Therefore gameloft doesn't have a section for the ATT galaxy tab because it would be misleading to their customers.
I haven't tried downloading the version for the T-Mobile tab, but I suspect it would work since the hardware on those tabs is almost exactly the same. To sideload apps, I have read about a program called "sideload wonder machine" that is supposed to let you put non market apps onto ATT devices, however I have not tried this either.
Sorry I couldn't have been of more help.
EDIT: Here is a link talking about the sideload wonder machine: www .androidcentral.com/sideload-android-apps-all-you-want-sideload-wonder-machine

Well that stinks. Any way to get around that? Tried SuperOneClick as it has an option to enable non-market apps but that doesn't seem to help.
I've read about Sideload Wonder machine, problem is you have to have the program you want to load. In this case, I can't even get to Gameloft to get a copy of the game, so I have nothing to load. Stinks!

Are you trying to download the gameloft app from your tab or your computer? Because you should be able to purchase the game from gameloft.com and then use the sideload wonder machine app on your computer to transfer the game onto your tab.
I was trying to purchase directly from the Tab as I thought that was the only way you could buy them. Last night I did discover that you can indeed buy them from your desktop, however it asks you what carrier your on??? I was going to try it but backed out. Could there be a chance the game is coded for a specific model and won't work on my ATT tab? I guess I could try as it's only $5 but just wanted to be sure it would work.
I guess it is possible that gameloft specially coded the game for each tab, but I kind of doubt it. In the case with Apple products (I know it isn't the exact same case, but still similar) one game file (.ipa) will work with an iPhone 4 or an iPod Touch 2nd generation. Considering how similar the hardware and software is between the AT&T and T-Mobile tabs, I would think that if you select the T-Mobile version that it would work. I won't be able to try this myself until tomorrow evening/night, unfortunately. If you don't wish to try it, I will post back with my results.
Well didn't work for me. Looks like you can only download via sms message link. Unfortunately it wasn't clear (not to me anyway) and I entered in my home phone number as I thought that was what was required to validate my credit card number. Thus no way now for me to change it and at least attempt to send to my Tab. That would probably fail as well, so I am SOL.
Edit: Spoke to soon!! I received an email verifying my purchase and low and behold it contained a link that I could download the game to my PC. Installed it fine with Sideload Wonder Machine. Sweet!!
Good news! Did you download the T-Mobile version of the app? And it's running smooth on your tab?
Yes i selected Tmobile as my option. I used the side wonder machine to install and it works perfectly. Its full screen and looks great.

i believe that you dont see them because youre in guam, they arent supported there. you can always root your device and check if they are still in /system/app/.

Its weird because my phone is able to access all these apps. My tablet is rooted and I checked /system/app/ and all are there but when I try to launch it, it "Activity not found - com.Google.apps.appname" know what I should do now?
Try checking through Titanium Backup if the app is frozen.
My nexus didn't show the App initially, but it was actually already installed, but was frozen by google due to country restriction.
I unfrozen the app using Titanium, reboot and seems to work fine.
Although I still have to use VPN and Market Enabler to access content on Play, but content I copy through USB seems to work fine on the app.

Actually I have a quick question. Were you able to get the 25 dollar app credit and transformers movie? Because I wasn't able to get any
I don't have the 25$ credit as well, I don't think you can get the credit if you activated your device outside "USA".
Google also double checks the credit card address to confirm your country of origin as well.
Honestly it's not a big deal, there are many ways to get the movie.
I plug in and copied a few movies (including Transformer ) to nexus and they show up and play fine on Play Movie.
My only problem is Play Book & Play Magazine doesn't recognize anything not purchase through Play.
So I have to use other readers (Aldiko) which read my ebook, and magazine.
The interface is not bad, actually better then Play Book/Magazine, maybe give that a try.
---------- Post added at 05:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:14 PM ----------
Another option, you can Root your device and try running Market Enabler + DroidVPN.
I was able to access the US version of Play and can download App without country restriction.
But I haven't tried purchase as I don't have a US address tied credit card.
The downside is VPN is slow, you have to upgrade Premium account. You may have better luck trying than I do.
But DroidVPN seems down these few days for Upgrading Premium account.
If anyone has other alternative for DroidVPN, please advise?

You don't need a US credit card. Just add a US address to your regular credit card

Cool, I will also give that a try.
I was always assuming the Credit Card must be US issued credit card.

you can use the following to backup the whole device:
http://www.pocketables.com/2012/09/how-to-use-adb-backup-to-back-up-your-unrooted-phone.html
I dont know how to backup just the angry Birds Saves.
Use titanium backup and just select angry birds or whatever app and data you want.

Except he doesn't have root.....
The adb backup system works, but only as an all or nothing option.
However, I've used an app called angrybirdssync that seems to work ok with all the Angry Birds versions, and doesn't need root:
Play store Link
There is also one called Datasync that works without root for some apps and I've been experimenting with 'saveshare' that uses Dropbox to sync game files..
It's really time Google sorted this out and got a proper sync system working for app data like whispersync for books - it shouldn't be that difficult to implement and if you have an android tablet and phone its a pain having to choose which device to play a game on to retain the save data.

[Q] Saving Apps

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if there is like a thing in google play or an app wich can just save/remember the apps you have each time. I install roms on a lot of android devices but always hate searching my favorite apps and downloading them all again.
Or do I just need to backup the apps in the recovery or something.
Any help would be appreciated

Paid version here as well. (Namely because the paid version offers a number of little things that help a bit, such as SMS, Call Logs, and other settings in XML which is more compatible with being restored on various devices, also there's the extra troubleshooting if you can't seem to get an app restored).
Helium (formerly Carbon) ftmfw! Not only will it let you back up app data only if desired (very useful as it saves space by only backing up the app data e.g. account info, saved games etc) and save backups to the cloud, you can sync app data across multiple devices so you can carry on your Angry Birds mayhem on your tablet right where you left off on your phone. I have the paid version of Titanium Backup, ROM Toolbox Pro and Helium and by far Helium is king
