Get Galaxy S Updates from twitter - Galaxy S I9000 General

Not sure about you guys but I only use twitter for news/tech updates.
Since a twitter account doesn't exist for galaxy s updates I figured I would make one.
https://twitter.com/TheGalaxyS
I'll be trying to keep up to date with all the galaxy s news and post updates as often as I can.
The updates I will post will be about application tweaks, firmware updates, rom news, sim unlock etc...
Updates will include all of the galaxy s phones.
Galaxy S I9000, Vibrant, and the Captivate.
If there are updates that i've either missed or you think they're very important, just tweet back at me, or email [email protected]

I'll also be posting updates about CyanogenMod.

Updates about cyanogen on galaxy s?

Just go to the nearest samsung service point and see if they can help you? You may end up having to pay if they determine neglect, but it'll be heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new one?

So a full wipe? Is the Galaxy S not capable of OTA updates?
yay cant wait to kill my phone again. third time is a charm.
can we assume that this official firmware will include the PIT and other features that 2.2 suppose to have, and be as competitive as Nexus 2.2? SGS has been a nice hardware but with so many limitation on the firmware, hope those Samsung engineers really gonna fix it properly...
Forgive my disbelief but I don't think that will be released at the end of September.
Hope to have that damn copy paste issues resolved and contacts search straighten out.
But I think I'm dreaming.

Real proof update coming soon but not 2.2

this was a result of Samsung posting that ATT had fixes in the works and myself and others went off on their facebook page. Samsung shortly like 3 minutes posted that they are working with ALL carriers on a fix.
I didn't see them tweet or post about Froyo, but that they are working on fixes
Meh,
This has pretty much become Behold II 2.0
I guess we were warned by Behold II owners.
meh it could mean months for all we know..... unfortunately. If the gps/compass is fixed, i will be a happy camper, I can wait for froyo.

Why don't you fixed the problems yourself. 1. root your phone, 2. install lagfix,
3. install gps fix. You may not want froyo after all.

That's why I want 2.2, not even because of flash, but JIT.

Well, some people may not want to root -- either don't know how, or feels it's "illegal," or don't want to run the security risk.
In practice, even with lag fix, the phone still freezes on occasion (usually when a call comes in, which means I can't answear it, or when trying to unlock. It's rare, but it shouldn't be happening.
We paid our $$$, now the ball's in Samsung's court.
Sounds to me that this update that the Captive got didn't improve the GPS much. Some even say its worse after the update. MAYBE, Just maybe. T-Mobile had to see where these updates went and Then fix it before we get it. Then when it works on the vibrant we can be happy?

LOL. You have a lot of faith in T-Mobile. More likely they are lazier and don't work on weekends or overtime....
I am starting to fear that it's possible the compass (and possibly the GPS) is a hardware issue.

GALAXY S to get froyo 2.2 in 2012!

the GALAXY S is set to receive the long awaited froyo 2.2 at the end of this year it may be a little late maybe next year 2012!
Finally!!!
2012.
Now I know why samsung hadn't released froyo for us.
Their afraid that froyo will allow the sgs to dominate the planet!

Ikr, people think these, devs just invent new, things.
All the devs do is modify, remove , or theme.
They can't add anything because they don't have the drivers from who? SAMSUNG.
Idk why people don't understand that they paid for those drivers... ;-)

They paid for the ones that come with the phone. Samsung makes the drivers, they didn't promise us and ask us to sign a contact saying new firmware every week!
The dev team is nothing without samsung.

they HAVE to ad bloatware, its how they make money.
and i was talking about other features.
The Devs can't add any NEW features than somethign that samsung did and modify it a little and done.
It takes days for devs to modify because their not building a whole new firmware.
Samsung, idk why their late, but it takes 3-5 months to build a rom for HTC and motorola, idk why Samsung's delaying.

Doesn't hurt to try, we're almost at 7000 btw.
I'd rather petition for AOSP roms since touch wiz is definitely a drawback. But any kind of ROM will help our great modders to make a great AOSP version

Hii All Folks KaFrEEkAbOom Here
As the title Says I have a Very Good News for all the GS2 owners who are waiting for the Official ICS update
"confirmed now. Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich update is finally coming on March 1"
The news was revealed by tech insider Eldar Murtazin in his tweet. He recently wrote that March 1st would be the date when the smartphone would receive the OS update. This is about a month prior to the old expected date of update.
http://http://twitter.com/#!/eldarmurtazin (This is Eldars' Tweet Address So you can See his news)
As the Eldar Says "Android 4 aka ics for sgs2 is going to be officially offered by March 1(depends from county/operator)"
Eldar, who has gained notoriety for his opinionated posts and up-to-date tech rumors So i Hope This Would be Helpful for You'll

I searched several threads to find i am repeating a post
And none of them had Confirmed Date
So that means.. Just 9 days left

I don't think it'll release on March 1. The way the betas are going. It might be mid March or so.
If it is true, 10 days left for me. BTW this like the 756th thread on this news...
About the app it's silly, all new-updated app makes update available for ICS 4.0, due to regulations for customers that bought already app.
And, as far as i know, 1 march =100% fully working stock rom with ICS, Samsung have been given before beta's already, now is the time for Sgs2 ICS
Great news if it does nothing else than speed up a full CM9 release
