Does anyone if we can access the wallpapers and ringtones that come with the phone to delete a few of them?
Would deleting them affect any other parts of the system?
Can we add our one ringtones and wallpapers to that location or are we limited to just putting those items on the SD card?

Anyone know how to change the default location for wallpapers in manilla?
It always goes to main memory my pictures now but I have a directory of wallpapers on the internal storage and it's annoying to have to click 6 times to get to it.
How many times do you change your wallpaper ?!...
When I download wallpapers from the web they are being saved in the downloads dir, and do not show up with the rest of the wallpapers whrn I access them from the settings.
My question is : Is there a directory I could move images to, so they would show along the stock ones ?
Err, downloaded wallpapers will be shown in your gallery instead. If you want to set them as wallpapers, then just browse from gallery.
The stock wallpapers are in a different time space continuum so there's no way to add new pictures to the stock wallpaper folder without altering the fabric of N1's existence.
That is if you are on stock N1. Not sure about rooted N1s with custom roms.
All the wallpapers that you can access from settings are in launcher.apk.....so one can edit it and push launcher again
Does anybody know where I can find the folder where new ringtones are added? I've been going around in circles for a while now, and I can't seem to find where they are. Or are they just shown on the UI and just accessed by the system from their original folders?
What are the best locations for putting ringtones, alarms & notifications?
For music, I created the folder /mnt/extSDCard/Music and it all works well.
But when I create and populate similar Alarms, Notifications, and Ringtones folders in /mnt/extSDCard, the standard pickers that are available to me in Rings Extended don't seem to pick up the content of these folders. I can opt to use Root Explorer as my picker but then I don't get any previews, which is not useful.

There are folders for these on the internal sdcard, I always just move the files into the appropriate system folder (system/media/audio) then change permissions and reboot.
Does anyone know what directories you put custom alarms, ringtones, and notification sounds? I'm coming from an HTC m9 and when I moved files into the "normal" folders (Alarms, Ringtones, Notifications) they don't show up in the selection menu/tab. I was able to access them by digging through the Music tab but I know there should be an easier way to find them.
With ES File Explorer Pro, I've placed additional ringtones and notifications in the following locations:
/storage/emulated/0/Ringtones
/storage/emulated/0/Notifications
Note that your phone may categorize the sound files under the header "music" when selecting them.
If you're rooted, I simply move them to the appropriate folder in /system/media/ in the root directory. If you go this route, make sure to set permissions to 644.
