BLockbuster App issue - Droid X General

After getting my Droid X I kept trying to open the Blockbuster app and all I would get was a black screen until I force closed it. I kept trying after restarting my phone, but it still wouldn't work. So I decided to redownload it from the Market and now it works.
It might be a pointless app but at least it now works.
ANyone else having the same problem? Anyone even using it?

Yep. I let it sit on that black screen for 5 minutes and finally, a notification popped up that read, "An application update is required." It just took me to the Market to update to the same version (1.0.45) that you manually grabbed.

NOW I can't download any apps from the market...

My Fascinate is rooted properly
Since then, I've installed SetCPU and Titanium Backup from the market...
Shortly after, my phone stopped being able to Download Apps from the Market...
So I uninstalled both programs
The Market says "Currently Downloading" but the Taskbar never shows it happening, and the little download bar in the App spins for a while and just stops.
I even left a simple game downloading overnight to no avail
I also tried clearing all the caches- download manager, market, etc...
Help!
Try canceling your downloads, logging into Talk, then trying again? Or cancel downloads, reboot, log into google Talk, then open Market

I had the same problem. Clearing all the cache and data for market and google apps worked for me.Though a google search has revealed results may vary.

This happens to me and many many people ALL THE TIME. The worst part is that there is never one reason why this happens or one fix. You just have to be lucky. I AM GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF THIS HAPPENING TO ME AND EVERYONE ELSE. Hopefully when froyo comes or something it will not happen anymore.
what does google talk do?

@billypunk81 That is a quick google for an answer.
And in the future please use the general forum for any and all questions. Unless you are developing something don't start a thread here.
Also give this a read.
good day.
I had same issue and nothing helped. I froze 'Market' and 'Market Updater' from Titanuim then thawed both right away. Started working after that.
Check and make sure Background Data is on. Maybe it got turned off somehow.
Try removing the 2.2 Market if you have it installed. That's what did it for me.
I ran into this situation when I mistakingly restored the 2.2 Market after flashing jt's clean ROM. To solve this, I removed Vendor.apk and reflashed jt's clean ROM. That fixed things for me.

What makes google talk and loading of market apps shut down??

Has anyone else experienced this? At times I will try to download and app from the market and it won't download?? I don't know exactly what that means but it happens only when I try to download apps???

i was wondering the same thing, it happens to me when i try to update my apps and thereafter i can't download the update or anything else.
Did you remove any apps that may remotely be connected to market/talk? There's no reason those would be FC unless something is missing. As a matter of fact... I don't think they ever FC on me in 2 years of owning Android phones.

I'm not sure the OP means FC. If he/she is talking about what I have experienced, which it sounds like, sometimes you select an app to DL from the market and it'll just sit there. Nothing in the notifications, but if you open the market and go back to the app there will be a download progress bar not, uh...making progress. It's just kinda solid grey with no animation.
In my case, I just canceled the download(s) in the market, and restarted my phone and they worked. Oddly, a full shutdown/turn back on didn't help! Only restart.
I haven't had any problems with GV (except for the wonkiness signing in with a Google Apps account). I'm interested to know what the OP's issue with GV is as well.

You are correct that is exactly what happens most of the time when I try to download apps from the market. The l only reason I mention google talk is because - and I heard someone else mention this on another post - if I simultaneously try to open google talk there is a message (unable to sign in) or something to that affect.
There has been a coupe times where if I just put my phone down and walk away or do other things
It eventually kicks back on and downloads the apps.
This has been my one and only problem so far. Other than this it runs better than any phone I have had.

Market problems - help?

Ok first of all lt me start by saying I did search this, but couldn't find anything relating directly to my problem. So now I will ask here. A couple days ago I went into the market browsing apps. I didnt even install anything but I got the updates pending notification. So I go into the my apps screen and choose the update all method. Now I know this usually works kind of half way because I have some custom themed apps on my phone that won't update because I didn't install them through the market (I think). Anyway they all download fine but when the actual download completed they all just sort of paused and had that horizontal scrolling effect you see just before it starts the actual install, which I've gotten before just never with all of them at once. Anyway what I usually do is just cancel the download and start it up right there after the cancelling. This time I did it and it immediately force closed on me. And wouldnt even let me open the market at all w/o fc'ing. I've tried several different market apk's and only with the most recent update I found could I open the market at all. But even then it still force closes when I click an app to review it. Any ideas how I might troubleshoot this? Logs to look at or somethin? Help?
cd's or tapes?
Go to 'manage applications' and clear data/cache for both market and market update.
I couldn't find the market update apk for my rom. (Epic experience, rfs, froyo, btw..) but I did it for the market one and it had no effect.
cd's or tapes?
Try clearing data for 'download manager'

Still a no go. Do you think if I try a different google account?
cd's or tapes?
I'm out of ideas, the things I suggested have always worked for me, but I was not getting FC's. If I were you I'd wipe cache/dalvik and re-flash the ROM, you won't lose data.
Ok this happened to me a few roms ago. What worked for me was to open the google talk app, login to it, and that re synced my google account info with the market app. And then downloads would actually start downloading. I read this solution in a thread and forget the orig. poster or i would cite him. Hope it works for you.
Edit: after re reading your pos I think I might of jumped the gun on my reply. Maybe this won't work for you.

Its cool guys I ended up reflashing.. I had to update my rom anyway I guess. Thanks for the help though every little bit counts.

"Wallpaper Updated" message

In the past week or so i constantly get the message on my phone saying wallpaper updated. I thought it was caused by the wallpaper i had on it so i switched to another, fixed it for maybe 5 min then the message was back again. The message appears whenever i open or close an app, open or close the keyboard, switch the screen orientation, etc. It basically does it no matter what i do.
Anyone else having this problem or have a possible solution?
Droid2 running leaked Gingerbread build
I know this is a older thread but i figured i would let you know.
I had the same issue. It was caused by the MySpace app. I uninstalled it and stopped getting that message. May not be the same for you but there you go.

Market downloads

Has anyone else had the problem where you're browsing the market on your a500, click to download an app, and it simply doesn't download?
About 70% of the time (conservative estimate) the "taskbar" shows that an app is downloading, but the "My Apps" panel in the market doesn't show that download. If I leave it alone, the taskbar reports that the download completed, but I don't see the app anywhere. I also noticed that if I'm browsing the market on my PC and I send an app to be downloaded on my tablet, if the "My Apps" panel isn't open on the tablet, the app will not download.
I'm running the stock OTA 3.1 ROM.
I get that a lot. I am forced to hit back and then select install or download the app a 2nd time. Not sure why.
I have always had this same problem ,even after updates from the Market. I hate the Market. It turns into a major thing just trying to download anything. It's very frustrating and takes 10 minutes of trying, trying again, cussing, connection time outs. Its pretty bad when we have a Android device and its a Android market and they still can't get it right. Maybe it's a Honeycomb thing? Maybe they should call apple and get some advice?

+1
common issue
Go into settings
Application
Manage applications
Browse to the market app
Clear app data.
This will sometimes fix that issue but only for a while
Worked for me
Good luck
I've had the same problem. Running Taboonay custom ROM version 2.0.
market
Same here have had that problem and so does wife. I get a kick out of wife she gets frustrated and impatient and swears at it.....lmao
So for a while there I was having the same issue. I went into clock work recovery and wipe dcache and battery stats and now all is well again. I would recommend that.

My issues seems to be that when I try to pull down an app, it tells me that it is unable to purchase. And suggestions?
I've had that a few times where I couldn't purchase an app. I found that purchasing through the online market works fine and auto-installs into the right device. It might have something to do with the lack of phone and IMEI number; could be wrong though.
Also, buying stuff with my phone then installing on my tablet works fine.
Go to settings applications Tonto market app then clear . Simple fix. Simple fix
Tried all this stuff still dont work
So i tried all this stuff and it still wont even download anymore it just FC when i click the my apps button FC this is really annoying. Went to market on pc it even says the app is installed on my device and it is soooooo not. Saw on another thread someone said Google was blacklisting users they know are rooted which i think is just dumb and dont believe, who cares what we do to the device we are still running android and want to purchase apps from the store. super lame well gonna try few other things then guess reinstall rom and kernel and see if that helps thank got for titanium backup
