I am using using an Android Virtual Device with 2.2 firmware, with user data wiped.
I created a simple Android application with Eclipse+ADT plugin. When I launch it from ADT, it installs itself on the virtual device perfectly and works just fine.
Now when I upload the .apk file of the application to the web and type that address into the address bar of the browser, it says "Starting download" and a download animation appears on the top bar of the device.
However, the animation is animated only for a second or two. Then it simply stops moving. The application doesn't finish installing (not sure it even started). The download icon stays on the top bar and if I try to download and install again, a new one appears on the top bar and everything happens all over again.
Untrusted sources are turned on. I've attached an image that has the icon that the frozen download leaves on the top bar.
I installed the Dexter Mod, D/L the App Market. When i try to launch the market the screen blinks then goes back to my regular home screen. Any ideas?
mmm, what do you mean you 'downloaded the app market'?
dextors rom comes preloaded w/ a new android market.
if you're refering to my market patch, you have to factory reset after flashing my patched market, and even then, i haven't tested on dexter's rom.
I was thinking of when i created a link and set up my other Tablet. On this A7 when i hit the Market icon it just flashes and does nothing. When i try to use the browser and manually go to the market, and try to D/L anything I get the message
"There are no phones associated with this account." and i cant d/l anything.
check out my market patch or dexters rom threads in the dev section for solutions..

Hi guys. Anybody having trouble running Netflix on a rooted Nook Color. Pretty sure I'm still running CM7.2. The menus load without problem, then you select a show and it's a total blank screen. Thanks for any help.
What version of Netflix are you using? I've heard you can use the latest one with CM7, but I have always used version 1.8.1. If you Google it, you should be able to find the app file.

Yeah, from everything I've seen 1.8.1 is supposed to be the best option. I need to get the same for my CM10 installed Nook.

Just downloaded the .apk from the dropbox link. A couple of the others seem to not work. Haven't put it on the Nook yet (needs to charge).
So I've just installed a Google Edition rom on my i9505, clean wipe obviously, and I have encountered a problem.. When I export a image from Dropbox onto either the internal or external SD, the image appears as a blank dark grey square in Quickpic/Gallery. For downloaded images from chrome they appear fine, and it only seems to happen with images over 3Mb.. And when I open Quickpic the whole gallery slows down, and if I delete the Dropbox exported photo it goes back to normal. Does anyone else experience this issue? Or know of a fix?
Many people including me have tried to download something from the Mega host, just to run into troubles, and if you are like me, you dont want to install the app...
I found a little trick i thought i'd share, hopefully its the right place to share it.
When you run into a thread that has a link to Mega, you are normally greeted with the nice Mega App redirect page. To get around this:
1) Change your browser to Desktop mode on the current page you are on, not on the Mega redirect page.
2) Most importantly, tap and hold the download link and copy the link address.
3) Paste the link address into your current desktop viewed tab, and go.
You should now be able to get to the actual download without the app and/or fuss.
Cheers!
Thank you for sharing this it was kind of hard to figure out and it was annoying to have their ad for the app always appearing.

Awesome! Now do you know how to get the browser to open tabs in the background?

The app doesn't support downloading from folders anyway. So your method is still the best bet even if the app is installed. I should also mention that this method works with the stock browser I couldn't get it to work with Dolphin.

You can try entering this into your browser- i didnt have to touch anything once i hit enter., just paste the link and go. Afterwords, try tapping and holding a link, open in new tab, and it should open in the background.

Thanks for the help. It didn't work. I exited the browser (cause the Relaunch Browser button on the bottom didn't work), but still, tabs open in foreground. Weird that this is not an option. (BTW I'm using the built in brower)
Seems it's not working anymore with stock browser under CM12.1
Just curious, why not just install the app? It is IMO one of the best cloud storage/file sharing services you can use, way better than dropbox or box. Would love to understand why people don't use it.

Because it's slow, it downloads to a cloud 1st then to my phone and never allows me to use download booster so that's it in a nutshell for me anyways
Seems that Mega does no more allow uploading img files
I usually upload stock e.g. boot img, recovery.img, persist.img whenever I switch or update the ROM (used to do it on several devices and never had problems)
Yesterday I wanted again but it didn't upload. Then I tested:
- same img files that I uploaded with no problems time ago to Mega, but now uploading to another folder on Mega
- by renaming img files to bin files
- I even downgraded from the recent Mega 4.3 apk to 4.2.2 (because the last time, two weeks ago I successfully uploaded two img files and I checked now that Mega 4.3 apk was updated afterwards, just few days ago)
But no avail
I can upload my stock or Android patched boot images but ONLY if I ZIP them
However, I checked with a TWRP img file (for flashing TWRP) and it worked
Also, all my img files that were previously uploaded to Mega are still there and can be downloaded
I'm an old Mega user, with 50 GB limit, and I have 26 GB of free space (boot images are about 20 MB each), hence there is no lack of space problem - btw, I just uploaded an even bigger zip file with no problem
