no their un edited and ill prove it ill upload original picture, i have some of the best camera tweaks made on this forum by my self and most people use them and then don't listen to how to set in camera settings up to get the picture perfect
i have spent hours tweaking the reg files to produce images like these and their included in apps like bsb tweaks and also as cabs here are the original images
http://rapidshare.com/files/408833343/100MEDIA.zip.html

Nice.
Nice pics! tell the steps that you tweaked. Would love to do it on mine.
Also, I trust these pics to be original as I, too, have taken beautiful pics w HD2. Just wondering if the steps I did was the ultimate setup.

ok heres the simplest way to explain it.... install bsbtweaks and turn on my superfine tweak... next set the camera up like this (only for macros not for all images as u need a different setup for other types of images)
WB - "sunny" dependent on ambient light
iso auto - "100iso"
5M resolution
wide-screen OFF
touch focus ON
super fine quality
contrast +4
saturation +3
sharpness +4

well thankyou, please share ur result so others can see and we can all have better quality pictures
ps use the touch focus to set the focus to the object and move the object off center for good DOF

Now wouldn't it be great that these settings were saved in some kind of profile that we can actually choose w/o the need to do it manually. hehe. Anyway, thanks damien.

No prob, will do. Going hiking tomorrow so Ill see what kind of random stuff I can photograph.

THANKS PEOPLE
ill get some more picture also

That's great result considering lens quality of the HD2 and the least distance of focus. I love macro pictures but I usually obtain them with a Nikon and macro objective, so I can think to bring some "shots" even when I've only phone with me

Just got home. Have some new pics to add... Will get them up tomorrow!

Today I've tried, this is one result as from the phone, only resized for posting

some new ones from HD2 camera phone on Friday i should have my 550d so cant wait to get some proper macro shots with the tamron 90mm woho
its gona be weird as with my HD2 i basicly have to get as close as possible to get macro shots and soon i can sit back and shoot from a distance how weird lol

Just Amazing!
I sit a lot in a library and take my camera to take pics of some texts that I need.
Now all I need is my super-great HD2 to take pictures (YEEEY)
Thanks for those tweaks - im mesmerized with the results !!!

Anyone know the camera specs for the HD2? I'm interested in the aperture. I know that the iPhone 4 has a f/2.4 aperture. How does out phone fare?

Then "Wizcode PhotoCopy" should be sumthin for You ! Since I bought it (20 $) I use it almost everyday and it replaced my pen-scanner completely. Converts into PDF automatically and You can combine multiple shots into one PDF.

Camera on X10

Guys
How would you able to take good shots on X10?
Why is it blurred or like my pics is taken on an Iphone cam. Too much noise etc and not good. It's like I'm using a VGA or 0.3 cam.
Can you guys advice me a good settings or tips to make the cam better
TIA
I got the same issue, the pic taken by X10 is worse than X1 (8M VS 3M)

a few mine findings on x10 camera..
when is enough light there is no problem, auto settings is good.
when taking pic indors but with enougt light use sport setting, then pic will not be blured (same for video) coz exposure time is shorter, but if there is not enough light pic will be tooo dark with sport setting, then use defaul setting and try to keep phone steady as you can while focusing and while pressing key and second after that..
i got great results
Pics
Personally, I find the camera fantastic (until you zoom right, right in). It almost seems like they've used a 4mp camera and doubled the res as the pixels seem very blocky close up.
I'll upload when i can!
I never changed the settings or MP nor cam I enabled photo light too on some shots.
Example of a very good light condition is my laptop. you see its disgusting. the light is from bulb that is very good, and yet I get a crappy pics even with image stabilizer on
i've also noticed that image stabiliser make pic even worse, with that option i got less details, washed out colours...
Man those pictures look like NOTHING my X10 makes. You are either the worst photographer or there's something wrong here. Here's a few I made with my X10:
I've had no problems with the camera either.. i've really good quality photos with the X10. the only i have is the ease of access to the flash
Any tips? I'm bad at photography I know that that's why I'm asking for what settings what things do to etc.?

EV -7 when is too much light.
EV -3 in "normal" conditions
Always keep the sun behind you.
Also, depending what you shoot you can change the metering.
Well, my X10i also takes great pictures, and i usually use automatic settings. Here are some samples (I resized image size, just click the thumbnails):
Yeah those things bugs me
The metering too.
What should I set to this center average?
Well, my X10 also takes good pictures, one thing i noticed on your shots is that they're not focused and all blurry, did you wait until the focus was alright ? (when semi pressing the camera button, the focus in the middle of the screen should become green or red if it thinks the focus is not good enough)
Also, for close-up shots you should definitely enable macro mode.
here's an example i just took of a 20ct coin, with low lighting :
(unfortunately i can't give any higher res pic since i can't post links :/)
I had blurry pictures when I first got my x10.. but after setting the camera to "Scene Reognition" under Capturing Mode, it fixed all the problems. Hope that helps
i use touch fokus and now take better pictures
i have the same problem as gr3yh0und
and i dont know what to do ?!!
please someone tell me the ebst setting for camera
My pictures are too soft.
Way too soft.
I will have to give it a try without image stabilization to see if it makes a difference.
Here's a low-light shot from tonight... Went to the Airport park.
It's geotagged correctly on flickr as well.

Camera / Photo examples?

Can any of you lucky Galaxy S owners provide real life examples of the camera capabilities please? Ideally some shots in different lighting conditions.
Thanks.

Seems that the camera is ok for snaps (I have been spoiled by the Carl Zeiss optics of the Nokia N Series) but then I guess the camera is not what you would buy this phone for!

What camera settings did you use?
Great pictures, much better then my HD2 HD2 performs awful in the darkness - overexposes every picture with the leds. So I won't miss the led except for flashlight purposes
at least we can see under low light xD
the normal light picture is not bad, much better than HTC's quality and everything seems clear enough for a phone cam.
but it doesn't capture the sunlight that well, it makes a "whitish" effect in the picture lol not sure how to describe. but it ruins the real colors.
holy crap. in decent lighting those stills looks pretty darn good for a phone.
and the video is REALLY impressive for a phone.
it appears that it doesnt do well in low light, but still... im impressed.

Thank you so much!
Hmm, if the camera is similar to that on my Omnia I then I’d recommend manually setting the ISO rather than leaving it on auto. Also, I’d be curious if manually focusing on a specific object would perhaps result in a sharper low light photo (my Omnia has problems auto focusing in low light/low contrast situations).
If you want me to take some specific shots I can try. I've been messing around with the settings i.e macro, iso etc.
I took this today on the Galaxy S, I didnt check the settings, its still all on default. It was taken freestanding so could probably be sharper, but was pretty much just point and shoot. Its not edited apart from the 50% reduction to make it viewable on here. Colours are as they were captured, and not bad for a camera phone.

Ah, so bad! xD
Soooo much noise and artifact in those shots, resolved detail not very good either.
That said, looks like HTCs best camera ever (apart from perhaps the Mozart with its Xenon Flash, but I haven't seen many examples from that handset yet).
I think that mobile phones' cameras are not for the ones who are obsessed with photo quality.
I am sure long years I will prefer to carry a DSLR camera even though I have got a 8 mp camera integrated phone.
i agree buying a phone based on its camera is silly, the only time i have ever used my phone camera was when i got a parking ticket so i took photos of the signage and my car wrote a letter to the council and got off without having to pay
if i know im going to take photos i just take my DSLR

Any chance in taking an evening shot (sunset/sunrise) without flash.
Also if possible another two low light shots with and without flash (basically the same shot for comparison on how well the camera handles low lighting with & without a flash).
Cheers.
Ouch those shots are really poor in terms of quality, noise, too strong noisereduction, chromatic abberation and hell everything.
I'm afraid Nokia N8 wins this round.

You don't need to be obsessed with photo quality to demand more from your mobile phone camera than the Desire HD is offering though. For many of us the camera is quite an important consideration because day to day photography with our phones is part of our regular use (most of us don't carry a DSLR all the time, eh?). Its nice to have shots that are 'good enough' for that kind of casual photography, and many other non-HTC phones offer that.
I won't, and haven't ever, based a decision to buy a phone solely on the camera, but certainly its a consideration, more important for some of us than others (but you can't dictate to others how they come to a decision to get a phone or not).

SGS II Camera shots

Hi, I decided to buy SGS II as soon as it will be on stock in my country. For now there is so few reviews with full res. photos. Many people will be glad to see camera quality from real users. So please share some photos with us. Many THX
PS: Its not condition, but only full 8Mpx resolution photos show the real quality and amount of detail and sharpness of the photos.
Here are some untouched Macro shots taken in my backyard in fading light with the Galaxy S II, was a bit windy so the flowers kept moving:
Click for full sized image
Nice macros, I can imagine better shots without wind and with some exposure correction EV -0.5 or EV -1 you will get more sharpness and contrast...THX I will doubt more mates will join and show off their own photos...I will appreciate some sceneries and middle range photos in good light conditions...
I'll get some done later.
I'll post a few for you shortly. Stay tuned

Yeah, the longer range stuff does seem to lack a little sharpness at the moment. I don't know if I can overcome that with the settings or not. Macro and reasonably close range stuff is excellent, and it's taking some brilliant pictures of my kids.
I haven't done a vast amount of low light stuff yet either.
Also quite importantly, it's quick. I've found that compared to the iPhone, a lot of smartphone cameras take a while to actually get the shot, or to load up so you can start using them. SGS2 does neither, it's quick to load in, and the shots are pretty much instant in the right mode.
I'll try and get a sports mode example too, that's quite a fun toy to play with. It'll track a moving target in a panorama mode.

Notice the yellowish on right side of photo, it seem like many of the user of sgs2 having this problem on led flash, and it all occur at the right handside of photo
this made me remember on the n86 led flash ---> yellowish led light. May I know sgs2 flash light color is white or yellowish?
I was messing around with the macro on one of the grass shots but I didn't tap focus for any of the pics, just point and click. For the first two I think they look like that because I was pointing the lens in the direction of the sun to see how they would come out.

how do you set the camera to macro mode, on the xperia x10 it was in the settings with a tulip icon but can't find it on the sgs2? any help would be appreciated.

My first macro shot with the SGSII, results were better than expected!
I believe everything was pretty much set to auto, except focus.
I should have some more lying around.
Nice shot
Whenever I point the phone to my dog, he thinks it's something like a gun so he runs away.
Can you tell me what's diffirent between metering : spot, matrix...?
Here in Spain it's ice-cream time
I always shoot in min ISO, so ISO 100. Both in macro mode.
Another macro shot (also ISO 100):
wow! amazing shots!!! very sharp and nice DOF
OMG wow.... Ok i will post some soon.

There is centre-weighted, Spot and matrix metering.
These options take readings from the image which adjusts exposure to the image being produced according to the light intensities.
Centre- weighed towards the centre and averaged throughout the rest of the scene
Spot- the camera will only measure a very small area of the centre spot, useful when there is a relatively small object within your scene which you need to be perfectly exposed.
Matrix - takes reading from split areas of the scene to calculate the best exposure and sets it according to an average.
...I think
It's all a bit complicated to be honest, well for me it is, I'm just a beginner.

Matrix - takes reading from split areas of the scene to calculate the best exposure and sets it according to an average.
...I think
It's all a bit complicated to be honest, well for me it is, I'm just a beginner.

matrix mode does not take "split areas" (it might just be a language issue however), it splits the images into a matrix (a table if you prefer) and finds out the best exposure for each point in the matrix.
this usually fixes up expose problems and while i didnt test the matrix implementation of the sgs2 im surprised it doesn't default to it, in theory, it should make all those overexposed pics ppl take on smartphones look "mostly" fine
centered will not, and you always notice it when the lighting is not correct, with the burned out / over exposed edges
Lots of nice cars.
Centre weighted, ISO 40. Really happy with the camera.
Im interested in this thing: lock exposure after focusing. e.g. SE X10 and other sony ericssons are capable to lock exposure after phone camera focus on object. Then you can move phone to other position and fullpress to take picture...this is very good when dificult light conditions...THX for answer

Just in case others haven't noticed, there is a Camera firmware update available. Don't ask me where I found it but it was in the "Samsung Apps" app somewhere! I have no idea what it improves either (if anything).
