I have my company email synced to the evo. The exchange policy requires the lockscreen to be present. I don't mind unlocking after ten minutes of non-use but it's becoming somewhat tedious to unlock after it's in standby for a minute.
Is there a better / faster unlock screen? Would a new keyboard help?
Thanks.
There'd an app called app protector that does app level security. It should provide the same level of security.

for putting a pattern unlock instead. If you dont want any type of security, then all you have to do is install "lockpicker" from the market, run it, and check the box that says start service.

Great. Thank you.

Is there an APP like lock picker for HTC Sense. I hate the exchange security pin unlock. I have read a few threads on how to bypass it but can't get it to work. When I'm running an AOSP ROM I have a zip file I can run and take away the security settings but this will not work with the sense ROMs.
Any suggestions?

I've got the same experience. Anyone with an answer to this?
Not sure to what you are refering to. The pin lock when you go to unlock your screen? You can just disable it in Menu>settings>security.
Hope this helps

He's referring to the microsoft exchange requirement where it wants the phone to be security enabeled, otherwise you cannot access your exchange account.
This worked for me -

Is there any way to disable the slide to unlock feature and just have the pattern unlock ?
Also in this boat, searching leads to several threads like this
Yes you need to uncheck the auto launch of the play app.
I don't recall where I seen it.
I'll post when I find it.
Open the play app, push the menu button and select settings.
Then uncheck auto start.
Forget what I said.
I thout you meant when you slid the screen and not the slide bar on the screen.
There is no way that I have found.

That's where we go to set the pattern unlock, what we want to know is how to remove the slide to unlock that comes up before the pattern unlock
This needs a bump, so here it is. I'm in this boat all of a sudden because my employer enforces an entry code for devices for a corporate account. I'm getting really unhappy having to slide, enter pin every time !
Try the app "antilock"
Its free on the market and does exactly what you want, I believe. I use it myself so I don't need to slide twice as I use widgetlocker
Hope this helps!
works like a charm!
Uninstalling, sometime after turning the app on my phone started to act "funny" or erratic... After uninstall everything seems to be normal again.

Mine too, It started flickering like mad and asked me for the code over and over.
Hi
I was wondering if theres an app to prevent people from changing my settings and options within the phone. My friends are constantly touching my phones and kept changing everything up. For example, the playstore, how can i prevent them from downloading or removing any apps (even free ones).
Also how can i prevent them from changing all my apps settings? even the Settings app itself. I hate having to change it back to my preference every time they touch it.
How can i create an owner and a guest account so that the guest cannot change anything in my phone, only view it.
I think this can be the Device Administrator option?
Thanks, much appreciated!
Hi
Try applock from the market.
I think theres several different versions of applock applications for you to try.
You can passwordprotect your app's from execution with them

Have you tried not letting them use your phone? Or dont let them get to your phone. Keep your phone with you at all times. That's the best prevention.

You can also use a custom launcher such as Nova, hide the Dock, set only 1 homescreen and have just the clock on it, and then enable Extended Desktop mode without enabling PIE. See how long your friends will want to play with your phone after that

I second this idea. I once gave my phone to one of my friends to play around. I was running ParanoidAndroid and had Extended Desktop turned on. He didn't know what to do on it and lost interest immediately and gave me back my phone. LOL
So I started work at this new place a week ago. Apparently I'm the first and only person here to ever have an android device. The IT guy was astonished that he had to go approve my device as an administrator, because those features don't transfer over iPhone apparently.
After 2 weeks of not being able to sync my email, he's finally approved my device only for me to find that I can no longer use dash clock. Lockscreen widgets are apparently disabled and this guy doesn't understand the restrictions well enough to remove them.
Any way I can bypass this? There's no sensitive data being synced to my device anyhow, and I'm also a bit afraid that this guy can wipe my phone remotely..

So, being a paranoid, I wanna take precautions regarding my N4, so in case it's stolen I might have a chance of recovering it. What app(s) should I install to track it? I heard Cerberus is ok? I activated ADM but I see that unless I have data/wifi on, it doesn't find it. I have location access on. Do all these tracking apps need to have data on before being stolen lol? thanks!
Yes, you'll need some kind of internet connectivity. Some apps like Cerberus allow you to send text commands like "Cerberus enable mobile data" or something like that. You should definitely take a look at Cerberus, it has so many features.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I second the suggestion of cerberus, you can send text commands and turn things on from the web interface, as well as being able to hide it from the app drawer.
Also if you are rooted, you can make it a system app, which means even if a thief factory resets your phone, cerberus will still be there.

thanks guys, will look into cerberus with more detail. glad to hear it has an option to activate it on the go.
just saw there's an app called Android Lost that has pretty much the same features as Cerberus( saw that avast/lookout have an antivirus too which I just don't need). My question is, can AL be installed as a system app, so it still works even if the phone is reset? thanks!
