same problem,i own Omnia 2 and the accelorometer seems to work eratically.it doesnt work on main menu, not even in the programs setting.only works on e-mail and office. Is this a deliberate design ommission from the original i900 which had auto-rotate all across the UI
similarly all the windows 6.5 settings are hidden(today, remove programes, task manager, etc)
Any help???

Hello, I have find with using google Autorotate-1.2-beta2.cab. This works good for now.
Check the forums posted at Modaco, you will find specific tricks to make auto rotation work on all of your applications.

Anyone tried this app on the athena? (as it also has an accelerometer) If so does it work?

Would be brilliant if it works but my hopes aren't high as I couldn't find anything on the topic.

looks like a nice tool, but after I installed on my Ameo I tried to use GSen Version 1.40.
But a window popup with following message :
cannot connect to GSensor (1)
mhh, doesn't run on Ameo ... and delete it ...
Ameo, t-mobile ROM version 6
btw: I've now asked the developer why GSen is not running on Ameo ... hope I get an answer..
Accelerometer
Hey,
I've installed it on my HTC Advantage X7510 with WM6.! Professional, and I can confirm that it works.
When I'm in the today screen and I turn the PDA it does turn in Landscape and Portrait mode with no problem great at last it works.
Thanks for the link if anybody what's me to try anything please let me known.
Thanks
Gigino
I am happy for you gigino, but I am in the same boat as palmchen (have a X7500 with t-mobile WM6 ROM).
Perhaps the interface to the sensor is slightly different between WM6 and 6.1
I am sure it can't be that difficult to access it from WM6. Hopefully the developer will be able to implement it or give some clue which will assist some brainbox from this community in hacking this version to get working with WM6. In my eyes this is one of those killer apps.
I tried this on wm6.1, and had the same error message.
IMO the answer is simple: it works using HTC VUEFLO .dll. X7510 has those dll, x7500 doesn't!
In AP4 or AP5 it will work

mhh, simple question?
could you please provide the new vueflo.dll for the old devices ?
If it only a dll to change that should be not a problem, or ?
btw: I've asked the developer, but he told me that he is to busy and have no time in the moment to update this programm.
Thanks for this. It is a great find. Works well with my X7510.
This is a must have application for the X7510. It is just amazing.

For some it is a must have. For others, it is an annoyance and irritation.
only because we can't get it working!
Sorry guys, we doesn´t have these devices for testing.
We just was surprised about the info, our tool is working on HTC Advantage X7510.
Also we not know the reason why it is not working on HTC Advantage X7500.
Possible reasons:
- missing/different software driver
- different ROM/ACU version
- missing needed hardware
As i said, we cannot test because of missing hardware.

Not because of that. It was working all right.
I hated this auto rotate thing because 9 out of times the rotate happens against my wish, and it slows my device.
After the initial few minutes of novelty, I was already wanting to switch it off.

Thanks for the info, but I still far prefer assigning rotate screen to a hardware button and just press that when I want to rotate.

No, I don't, there are SOME dll, you can find it in the AP4 / AP5 ROM. I agree, the rotation is too slow and the screen rotation is useless and time consuming 90% of time. My brain is much faster in image rotation and my finger is slower than brain but acts only when needed

Screen rotation is fast on mine. Might be ROM or today screen related in yours.
The speed you can change in settings: #timeout(value) - default value 1000 ms

X7500 (Ameo) with AP4 or AP5
I have tried it, but still I get the message that the gsensor cannot be found.
Edit:
Oeps it just start working. I noticed the veuflo was disabled.
can anyone post those .dll files, so others can use them? thanks
Has anyone tried to install the omnia interface on their Diamond? And did it work?
Mine didn't..

Omnia interface...
I know this isn't the real thing, but it looks pretty good. If you've got spb Mobile Shell v2.0, you can install this Omnia interface skin for it.
Scroll down the programs to find the entry
The site linked above also has loads of other great free apps.
spb shell theme for omnia : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/09/18/omnia-spb-mobile-shell-212-theme.html
Omnia on VGA devices : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/11/17/install-samsung-omnia-user-interface-on-your-vga-device.html
Intrestingly enough I found both these application here on xda dev

i have the same problem !
Im also having this problem. Has anyone found a way to change it to VGA mode somehow?
Same problem here.
In my case, the diamond dosn't show all the picture. If VGA has a higher resolution than QVGA, it should apear a picture smaller than the screen... no?¿
Any trick to sove this?¿

Well this doesn't help a singe bit for me ...
After installing the cab and the 3 files and activating Samsung Today2
(Samsung Today1 will not work and you have to do a hardreset) I can
see a couple of Samsung ?widgets? - there is no Samsung Widgets to
select for me as stated somewhere.
Anyway the dialer is still not shown on the screen completely.
mst
I have the same problem...no "samsung widgets" in elements of today screen
there are several threads addressing screen rotation under Vista but as far as I can tell, nobody has actually gotten the screen to rotate to primary portrait mode. Do the latest Intel drivers for Vista actually support primary portrait/primary landscape rotation, or is this still an issue?
Not as of yet as far as i know.
irotate
there is a program that i used once in XP that rotates the screen i dont know if it will work in vista and i cant try it since my shift its on the way but its worth the try
programs is called irotate.
best regards.

Hi guys,
Sorry for the new topic but I'm having trouble finding an app to rotate the screen to landscape for wm 6.5 - I've tried gsens and it doesn't work. Can someone point me to the right direction?
Thanks
for manually change try RotateScreen
[EDIT]
ups....sorry
here is the right one...
The zip file seems to be empty :S. Thanks for the reply though however i would prefer auto rotation - I'm not sure why this isnt auto supported with the rom ....
Edit - Gyrator 2 - That's so far provided the best results!
Try Gyrator. (http://gyrator.brins0.net/) I use it on my windows mobile 6.5, and it works perfectly!

i found in this it work well with my TD2 . go to this link find the software name changeScreen v2.78 – Auto Screen Rotation application
If I disable Manilla and run the phone bareback without HTC Sence/Manilla enabled. Does there exist a tweak for the phone which will make the Windows icons, setting, etc turn while in landscape position?
Before you ask the Manilla 2.5 landscape project didn't work for me.
try to google , gyrator 2 , maybe you can use that ..

mærkeligt at HTC ikke har opfundet noget lignende selv?
Strange that HTC hasn't build something simular?
Virker det ???
dos it works ???

It's not an automatic rotation, but try PLToggle in my sig - you may find it more suitable

One thing john.
I seem to remember a earlier version of HTC Sense which looks very much like the HTC Sense on HD2, but was shipping with automatic landscape and sold with Touch Pro 2.
Why didn't they put that version of HTC Sense/Manilla on HD2? Any idear?

No idea mate. I do know that landscape support for Manila is coming in some ROM upgrades soon. I believe 2.02 (not yet officially released) has it.

Lets hope they include full landscape support for the entire device both in Manilla and Windows

BsB Tweaks does the job of adding auto-rotation for non-manila apps very nicely, and of course I'm going to plug PLToggle again
It's just manila that's lacking. I don't think we'll have to wait too long to get to a v2 ROM, which will hopefully have it.
