Customising folder icon? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I have a bunch of folders on my Homescreen neatly categorising the apps I use. But the icons are all in boring ole brown. Is there any way to customise it with our own icons? Quite surprising that almost all of Android is so tweakable yet there's no easy way to do this...lol.
Someone recommended FolderOrganiser. It's an interesting idea to "label" all your apps and then display it in any flexible way you like but I tested it but found it slow. The folders sometimes take 1 or 2 seconds to open up. In comparison, the native Android folders open up instantaneously.

Easy Icon Customizing

I found this great program online a few days ago thats very good for (especially for noobys) at allowing you to customize icons right on your ppc. Ive tried it extensivley with .png icons that is use for my iFonz screen. All you need to do is copy and paste the icon you want to customize into My Documents/My Pictures, and bring up the PaintApp. You can zoom in to single block view which in my opinion makes customizing extremely easy. It also has a feature which alows you to resize your icons simply by entering in the size desired. If your creative enough, choose your size, and make one from scratch. This program is also just fun to use. Below is the .cab file for the program. This is great for people who have no experience making icons.
Tip, use something simple like a blank calendar or calculator icon as your base if you want to make a completley new icon. It makes it easier to know the outline of what you want.
Hope you enjoy this. I do.
it looks great
thank you so much for bringing this nice prog here
cheers

Details
Here's some details like you asked for in the second reply. Im just going to tell you what I use it for. First, to make changes to an icon, copy it to My Pictures located in My Documents. That's the only folder it reads. When you install the app the first time you run it, it will give you an option 4 a tutorial mode. Do it. Anyway.. Once you bring up whatever icon you chose, you have all sorts of options. You can change the color , the size, everything . Then save it. Go bak and copy/paste it back 2 the original folder or wherever you want and there you go. Also , my favorite, you can create your own icon from scratch. Just select the option to create a new file or image, whatever its called. Then choose the option to chae the size. Set it to whatever size you want, 44x44 , 42x42, and have at it. Just mess around and you'll figure out how to make them rounded like the default icons. Now here's a tip to make this easier. If you want to make you own custom icon, copy and paste a realy simple, almost blank default icon, like the calendar icon or the stock lines icon to My Pictures. open it up in the program. use your zoom feature too zoom in pretty close. Select the paintbrush, use white and erase everything inside the icon except the Main outline. This way you have a border to go by and keep it the same shape and size. That's what I do and it works great. Another great feature is being able to cut and paste images from one to another. Just take any image, ( I used a Yahoo! image from the web) , save it to My Pictures , and open it in the program. Change the size to 1 less or the same as the icons your using. Then select the cut option , outline the image the select the 'cut to clipboard' option. Next choose the open option, (dont save chaes when it asks), open the icon you want to use as an outline, or whatever icon you want to put the image on. Paste the image to the icon and then zoom in and use your tools to touch it up. I've made google, yahoo msn, hundred icons that look great! Its really simple. You've just got to play around. Its just a paint app like on you desktop, on your ppc! Its zoom feature just makes it so easy to work on icons. Im posting this from my vogue, so sorry if spelling and puctuation aren't perfect. Ill post some of my icons tomorrow for u to check out. hope you enjoy. and post any icons you come up with guys!
Thanks! ima give it a try =)

App Icon Replacing?

Is it possible to create and change the icons for apps? One thing I like about the iPhone is that the app icons are largely of a uniform shape and size so look good. There are also some poorly designed icons that are a bit of an eyesore.
I quite fancy doing a 'Sticker' style icon set.
Use apps like bettercut or folderorganizer.........the second can do much more

Is bigger icons possible?

I love the EVO and android's OS, but it supposed to be open, and very customizable?
I know their is some app in the market that makes apps get alot bigger and turn them into widgets, but.
Is their an app that allows the users to customize the size on the homescreen the app icon is. I would really want that. And pay for it.
I am rooted btw
Anybody???
RE iCONS
dude its Android there is always a free Alternative i Use FolderOrganizer, Allows you to customize Icons, remove labels from Icon packs or even if you create your own on photoshop or any photo editor even photos you took on your camera, Any image Jpeg or Png would work check different sizes
search "Bigger Icons Widget" in the market.

Make icons Bigger, is this possible

I have no idea how to develop android apps or anything like that, I do have a few questions or ideas on how to do this though.
Basically what I am asking is, is it possible to increase the size on an icon on the home screen, whether its using adw.launcher, launcher pro, or the stock launcher?
I know you can increase the size of widgets on adw.launcher but I want the icons.
Better cut lets you change the icon, but not the size. I think I read that standard icons on android phones are 48x48.
Is their anyway to possibly explore the .apk and rechange the icon dimensions or image size, and resign it and then install it?
Or is their a program available that lets you stretch icons on the homescreen.
I have tried better cut, and have icons that are higher resolutions, and haven't had any luck. Also i checked the market and their are no icon packs or anything similar to the ones I want
Could someone explain if this is possible please? thanks.
Anyone have a suggestion?
desktop visualizer---change size
Folder organizer---change icon
Sent from my blah blah blah
Thank you so much.
the developer who make more icons also makes a widget that lets you have large icons..dont remember the name but if you look for moreicons in the market you should be able to find this app

so far i love this os these are my thoughts

i worked on an os design back in 2014 so i wanted android on a pc for several years now, phoenix has impressed me quite a lot, here are some minor gripes and issues i ran into
1.i can\t change language input to my keyboard region
2.using a higher dpi makes everything appear jagged and pixelated, not enough to make it terrible but enough to notice setting wallpapers also make most extremely blurry
3.a lot of live wallpapers doesn\t work when i apply them they work then i exit out of the app and it goes back to the default wallpaper i did get one live wallpaper to work though edit i fixed this by letting the apps run in the background i would add some kind of help text on this as i don\t think everyone would figure this oue
4.all the baidu things and chinese apps preloaded i\d personally like if they werent but not a big deal
5.text marking doesn\t work properly like you\d expect all it does is drag the pointer to select text you have to hold on it and then drag the two pointer like on a phone
6.i want an option to disable the keyboard and search and storage devices button and just keep the clock I've disabled everything else i love the addition of a thin home button like on windows
7.i\d like to customize the taskbar and recent apps menu various colors and transparency etc
8.the weird light effect on selected icons could be a line to make it more flat but thats a personal thing
9.i would like to be able to change the start button to any icon from an icon pack
10.i would like to add or remove tiles as well as hiding the brightness and volume slider so an optiont to disable these would be nice
11.i would like various sizes for the startmenu i think it\s too wide i also would like to be able to disable the startmenu sidebar as i don\t need it
12.widget support would be nice
13.colors are very washed out making it appear as if i connected a very old tablet to my monitor they don\t appear crisp as they do on windows
14.resizing windows is extremely laggy
15.the trash icon for clearing notifications would be better as 3 lines stacked ontop of each other minor detail
