I flashed the right hspl 1024 version. Then I flashed the wrong rom. It was one from dutty on 3/28. Now I have no bootloader mode, no boot, no charging, It sometimes gives a error for drivers when I plug it in. It will not hard reset, or go into boot loader mode from the buttons on the phone. Could some explain how to bring this back because I cant return mine.
Mistakes happen and that is why the HD2 has this separate forum. I hope there is a way to bring yours back. I wish the different ROM versions weren't so different as to cause this to even be possible...

That's a completely different set of hardware, and has no bearing on whether or not someone can bring an HD2 back from the dead. Android phones are much, much harder to totally brick.
Let me tell you I did the EXACT same thing and I couldnt get mine to turn on or ANYTHING it was completely dead! I called Tmo and I had to send it back to them under "defective" and they sent me a brand new one and I will NEVER make that mistake again!
Sorry I miss understood. I thought he was asking if he could return the phone.
I have returned a g1 I bricked before.

I think I made this guide on another forums
SRY to break it up 2 u but you have a HARD BRICK
Yup! ^_^ sad I know No way of fixing this one
You should try this
Step 1: Enjoy staring at your cool new HD2 for hours
Step 2: Scream REALLY LOUD! cause you got a Brick phone
Step 3: find some one you REALLY DONT LIKE
Step 4: throw your cool new hard brick at them
Step 5: laugh out loud and say some guy from the internet told you to do it
Step 6: sue XDA and ME for inducing you to try new things with your cool phone
Step 7: have sex, drink a beer, watch a movie and Go buy a NEW phone
Step 8: ENJOY
-Note-
if you get another brick phone please follow steps 1 through 5 agn.

While T-Mobile can send the phone back to HTC for a reflash, there is still overhead associated to this. I'm afraid too many of these "bricked" phones may lead HTC to harden the SPL security.

That depends on whether they are able to start the phone enough to see the spl. If they can't, then they won't know it has a hard spl installed.
If it's within the return/exchange window I'd bring it back with a "I have no idea it just stopped working" look of innocence. I doubt most of the TMo sales staff even know how to check things like SPL numbers, etc.
If you deny any wrongdoing, and plead your case, i bet they swap it for you just to make you go away. And if you do get a no answer, I'd even try again with a different staff person, some are gonna be easier than others I'd imagine.
Or, alternatively, if you bought insurance, you could drop it in a bucket of water and bring it in soaking wet. Of course technically that's fraud, so let your conscience be your guide on that one.
Good luck.

The T-Mo salesman that sold me my HD2, told me about this sight. As well as flashing the ROM, doing cabs and dll files. So yeah, while most will not have a clue, there are a few that have a full understanding.

Conscience? What is this mystical thing you speak of?
OK. After I installed HSPL and mistakenly installed the 1.43 ROM i thought it was just OK. So I let it go until it reach 100%, after that the phone just went completely off. It won't start, it won't charge and it won't turn on. I try to do a hard reset but same thing nothing works. So right now its completely no working. Do you its still fixable?
nope... you'll have to wait and see if one of the brilliant devs come up with a work around. till then you have a very nice paper weight. If you got it from t-mobile you might still be able to warranty it but you run the risk of them finding out that it has the HSPL on it.
Yes I got it from Tmobile. I just got it yesterday and I went back to the store and they're going to give me a direct replacement. I'm just trying if it might still be revive. I know it can be done but i think its difficult.
if it was just a bad/wrong rom you would be able to boot to bootloader and flash a different rom.
problem is that the official roms also include a radio, and it is the radio from the 1.43 that has bricked your phone, not the rom.
no one has yet managed to start their phone from this kind of brick.
I know..hopefully one of this days one of the developers will be able to crack it and find a cure for it.
There is no cure I can think over other then pulling the actual radio chip and putting in a new one. I would think it would be like killing a BIOS chip on your computers mother board.

I agree. I don't think that there will ever be a cure for this kind of flash.
Question, though... I know HTC has some ways they can directly patch into a phone's hardware. Would it be possible for them to see the data on the ROM section?
I ask, because this would probably be the only way they could detect a Hard SPL or cooked ROM, I think...

sometimes a rookie mistake can ruin your life..or your phone just next time you flashed it read the whole post atleast 3 times and if you dont understand something read it again or google it so know what it means thats what I do all the time. flashing a rom takes time you cant really rush it and it happens to alot of us.

I really understand whats the do's and don'ts of flashing a ROM. I read it very carefully. It was just I'm so excited with it and didn't even read what I am clicking in my computer. I just hit NEXT..NEXT..NEXT. But what I am going to do the damage is done and there is no point of blaming my carelessness. As what most people say "learn from your mistake".
So, like it says, all i did was flash the new radio... now my hd2 wont power on. im using the core cell evo v3 rom. it was working perfectly, aside from the low reception... so i flashed the different radio. when the phone power cycled after the radio installed, it wouldnt power back on... please, please, PLEASE help!!!
Uhm, you didn't read ANYTHING before starting this whole process....did you? A Radio ROM with X.XX.51.X WILL ALWAYS BRICK A TMO-US HD2. Seriously, its at the top of like EVERY subforum...
as ashasaur said above... sorry my friend, but you have a nice paper weight on ur hands... any radio with a "51" in it is for european HD2's and will BRICK a USA HD2...

As much as I hate to say this because I was a complete noob once as well. But damn it dude did you not do any research what so ever before hand? I mean come on thats like the first thing you read is ONLY flash .50 radios to US TMOBILE hd2's . Read next time bro.

gonna be a warranty issue I'm afraid. the phone is dead and gone.
Yup. I did this to my first HD2, the night I got it. I managed to take it down to T-Mobile the next day, and convince them it was a bad model, and they gave me a new one, but they only do that in the first 14 days after you purchase it.
There really is nothing to do but get a new one.
Personally, after I got my second one, I just stuck with the stock radio.
yup its a brick my friend... i did the same thing but with a .50 radio that wasnt good it was like the first edition... but yea my phone was brick insurance had to pickup the tab..

The second post on the radio thread was probably from my doing as I flashed a 2.05.50.xx on my T-Mo and bricked. I got mine off of cragislist and luckily it was under 30 days and the guy was cool enough to do (...for discounted Wii and 360 moding) a replacement for me.
But...It all goes back to what then seniors have always said when I started on the ROM dev forums. READ! I know you are getting that left and right and it doesn't change your situation, but YOU WON'T do that again.
Don't flash (or mod) anything late at night is a good rule of thumb...I HAVE learned my lesson when I disobey that rule...luckily Walmart/Target are unaware of gut swaps. But I bricked my HD 2 and did a semi-brick on my old Tilt before the semi-brick information was available at no fault of my own. I am sorry for your situation... I HAVE BEEN THERE. I keep a cheap flip phone (since I left the CDMA world) handy at all times since my first Brick way back when.
I don't even post that much anymore...I just read. But I am still a flashing junkie.
Hopefully, you will get a replacement and have attained some wisdom from the situation so it won't happen again or this thread you started will keep others from the bricking wayside.
It's most likely not a brick did u try to put your sim in an other phone? This happened to me and my sim was got fried and got a replacement from t-mo , this is one thing the other time I had to reflash an other rom with the radio recommanded for it worked try these first and then if all goes wrong it's just not ur lucky flash.

no, you're wrong. Its been proven over and over again that radios with a 51 in the version kill tmous hd2s.

I think a fine.. :/
I recently bricked an HD2 (not radio related) and was told by a few people that if I send it to HTC and they figure out the device has any custom/cooked ROM or an SPL that is hacked, or from a test ROM (MFG spl) or basically anything that isn't an official/shipped release then they'll hit you w/ a $600 fine. And I'm assuming they don't send the device back to you..
Just what I've heard, and maybe it was just for my 'type' of brick - My thread
And no, i don't have another method, was just gonna inform him about JTAG if he wanted, I guess the ".51 Radio brick" isn't quite as hard to recover as it is others (correct me if I'm wrong).
thank to EVERYONE for all your input. i'm still on a quest to try and salvage this phone because like i said, it wasnt even mine. i already thought of exchanging it at tmo, but my friend got it off of craigslist, so thats out... and i am a former employee of tmous, and i know all the little sim card tricks and what not, and that wasnt successful either. im trying to find someone with jtag gear locally, but here in hawaii there arent a whole lot of options as far cellphone repairs and reprograming... ive bee scouring the net looking for other solutions, and if i do find something, i will be SURE to post it here so that others with the same problem can bring their phones back to life... thanks again everyone!!
hey guys, you probably know me im not a noob but i honestly did the most stupid thing ever... i was having problems with my radio image, it was showing as unknown under settings/about phone so i had no signal at all. I went to fastboot and erased radio then flashed it again, rebooted and got the same... theen i thought it was spl related, so i went to fastboot again erased everything (fastboot erase system -w) then erased hboot (yeah i know im an idiot) and then erased/flashed radio (here comes the good part, laugh if you want) when it was done flashing radio I F*CKING TURNED THE PHONE OFF so now im bricked... i have no spl or recovery or fastboot or rom or anything... maybe radio xD.... and im sooo upsad, you have no idea guys... so i think thats it for me and android since i dont have money to buy a new phone right now. just keep the forum up, this is by far the best forum there is, the best devs, great comunnity and awesome support from everybody. maybe ill be steping by to see if i can help anyone, maybe they wont take my advice since i bricked my s**t but thats up to you n_n... im gonna go cry now peace..

If i get it ill let you know and maybe in the future if i get all sentimental about my g1 ill try to fix it
holy cow!! I think I just bricked my phone... I hope someone can help me.
Here's the situation. I was on the latest MIUI 1.6.17 demonSPEED v.1.2. Everything was awesome! Then today I went to my dentist and there was a sign that said that they are not in today and to call a number. I was about to call, then everything got stuck. I needed to call them, so I just did a flash in front of the dentist's office with the ROM I had on my SD card.
re-flashed v1.2 with no problem and I was about to select "reboot my phone", then I was like, oh i'll re-flash Swype as well... the swype zip got stuck for like 5 minutes during the flash (and I still needed to call the dentist). So I was like, ok I'll just pull off the battery and restart the flashing procedures...
That's when I put the battery back and the phone won't even boot up now. I'm now home (didn't even get to call my dentist yet after all that), and plugged in the charger and it won't even charge now (orange LED not turning on)... Can't even boot it in recovery. Phone is unresponsive to any buttons...
Does anyone know of any other way to even turn the phone on?
Geez, that was the Noobiest mistake ever!! All that because I had to make a call... WOw, I'm speechless thinking of my stupidity! I hope someone can help...
Thanks in advance guys!
Quite honestly dude i dont think you have much to hope for except to call tmo and tell them its broken. If its truly bricked even they cant confirm it since they cant turn it on. Only thing i think you could try is pluging it into your pc and trying to see if the pc recognizes it and lets you run adb commands or something similar. Hope this helps.

yeah man, that was the analysis of the customer service rep that was helping me. He thinks that the battery somehow is knocked out... That's why he's shipped out a battery. Just waiting for that to confirm that it's the battery or something else! If that doesn't solve it, I'll have to send it back to HTC for repairs. Probably won't be able to get a replacement with T-Mobile since I cancelled my account with them like 4 months ago already... but thanks for the input!
