Issues reinstalling original apps

******
EDIT:
I figured I would try copying them all back at once and it worked. All bloatware apps are back up and running. No clue why it did not work when I did it one at a time... User error no doubt

I am trying to unroot and restoring my phone back to original, I need to return it for a replacement.
I removed the bloatware using "root explorer" I "moved" the apk and odec from system/app to sdcard/backup. Rebooted the bloatware appeared to be gone. I had no problems with the phone.
I tried doing this in reverse. In root explorer I copied and pasted the files back to system/app and rebooted the phone. the apps were not back and system/app did not show the files I had just pasted in the folder.
I also tried installing them via root explorer from sd/backup and installing them after c&p them back to system/app. Both times I got the same message that I was replacing an app and the app failed to install.
I have also tried c&p with droid explorer with no luck. The files disappear from system/app on reboot.
any ideas? Would a settings>privacy>factory reset, restore all of the bloatware? then I would just need to unroot the phone?

[Q] nook color 1.2 w/manualnooter flash prblm

I have a Nook Color with software version 1.2 and have installed manualnooter 4.6.16 which is working very well. I am trying to get Flash 10.3 without the boot loop problem. I have read that Flash 10.1 needs to be uninstalled and then a new install of 10.3. My problem is that I cannot uninstall/delete flash 10.1.
Here is what I have tried:
I used used root explorer and went to /system/app and flashplayer.apk to either rename it or delete. When I try to rename or delete, it tells me that flashplayer.apk cannot be renamed or deleted because the file system is read-only.
I used Astra file explorer and went to /system/app and flashplayer and opened app manager then selected uninstall and it comes back "uninstall not successful". When I use this same program to edit and delete the file, I get an error stating "error deleting files". Renaming tells me that I have insufficient permissions (I am assuming that is since it it read-only, but assuming gets me in trouble at times)
I used NookColor Tools and tried to clear data and uninstall and it does nothing with no response that anything was even attempted.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do to get 10.1 deleted or renamed so I can load 10.3?
Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

I used Titanium backup root to uninstall 10.1 painlessly, then installed the newer version from the market.

Got to system/lib/
Delete libSwypeCore.so
Rerun Swype installer.
you can use titanium backup to uninstall it.
then when you install it through the installer, it will show up in manage apps in settings.
Thanks jneal9 but I can not delete the file. I have Astro and File Expert. Neither worked.
Thanks funeralthirst. Was able to uninstall but I still need to delete the .so file
after much searching I found an alternative to root explorer- super manager. was able to delete the .so file
Thanks for the help. I learn something new everyday.

Try root explorer, astro can't access the file.
I was trying to install the lastest swype beta apk following almost all the steps above (I didn't erased the files, only renamed them) but wasn't successful, is there any other way? I'm using ES Explorer (with Root Explorer option checked)
The above mentioned steps worked for me:
-uninstall with Titanium
-delete the libswypecore.so file
I used Super Manager for the root explorer. Search marketplace for this. It's free and Root Explorer is not. In either of them you need to change the permissions of the file from r/o to r/w (read only to read write).
The thing with Titanium is that once before i've tried to install a new email app, so I used this Titanium to uninstall it first and when i've run the installer it showed "Application Not Installed" no matter how many times I excuted it, and this totally messed my phone up, I had to odin back to stock!
So, in this case is safe to unistall Swype and the installer apk won't give that error?
I make no guarantees but what is mentioned in this thread works. And, as I've learned the hard way, you should make a backup of your phone before flashing anything.
Follow the above steps. Not only remove the AOL but also the file"kinetoscope.so". Use root explorer or super manager to do this.
It seems like it's alot of work but once you have everything you need it goes fast. Searching for the answer is the hardest part.

ok 2 things
1. ES File Manager (Root explorer for free on market
2. when you uninstall Swype using Titanium Reboot phone before reinstalling Swype. Same with most applications. Rebooting clears out the temp files that can corrupt a reinstallation.
Hi,
I've only had an android phone for a month or two (Samsung Galaxy S2, 2.3.3 Gingerbread, not rooted)
I have the same problem removing swype with no 'uninstall' option (trying to update to new version). All of these solutions seem to require a rooted droid, is that the case or have I misunderstood?
Can anyone offer a solution that does not involve rooting?
Thanks!

If Swype came preinstalled you won't be able to remove it without root.
Thanks for your reply jneal9. Swype did not come pre-installed on my phone, I had to download the beta to be able to use it.
However, after I updated the Swype Installer (so that I could then update Swype itself) it gives the message "Sorry, the Swype Beta is currently unavailable for devices that have Swype preinstalled" (which it definitely did not).
Is this something that anyone has come across before? I'm a bit surprised that it seems like this application (although I do realize that it is a Beta) cannot be uninstalled without rooting the phone!
Thanks!
This also happened to me when i was on malice v5. i tried everything to get swype back but to no avail. i switched from that to miui because malice will soft boot while ur on the phone when u have 30% or less battery.
I had the same problems and hopefully this will help others: first I had tried to restore Swype from Titanium and got Force Closes. Then, I downloaded a new version of Swype and after deleting the old installed: "Application Did Not Install" then I went to /system/lib and saw that libswypecore.so was NOT there. So after many combinations of the above recommendations, I finally did this: deleted all traces of Swype, rebooted phone, used Root Explorer to change /system/apps to R/W, copied the latest Swype in, ran the install (success), then EXTRACTED the libswypecore.so from the Swype.apk and manually copied to /system/lib and changed the permissions to the recommended settings above. Worked! No Swype alerts me to a new version, I download within Swype, it asks to replace, I say yes, and the installation fails! At least the version I loaded still works.

Help - Unistalling Gapps Camera

Hi, I'm currently using C-Rom v7.1, and I accidentally flashed the gapps "google stock package" which replaced the roms camera with google camera. The point is that I already tried a lot of things to get rid of it and get the roms camera back, but I was unsuccessful.
I would like to know if anyone could help me.
Thanks!
Try get someone to upload the apk for the ROMs camera and what permissions you need to set. As for removing the Google Camera, you can use Titanium Backup, or use Root Explorer and check under data/app and system/app, if you find it, mount your phone as read/write and delete it, then move ROMs camera to system/app and reboot, that's the way I'd go about it.
I followed your suggestion, but instead of just deleting the app, I used Root Explorer to search in \system and \data for everything that could be related to "camera" and "gallery" and then deleted them, after that I reflashed the ROM and wiped out \cache and \dalvik cache and it worked! Now I've the camera ROMs back!
Thanks for the help!

Samsung S5 Neo Problem transfering to system app

Hello guys. I will get straight into it.
I have used CF auto root to root my Samsung S5 Neo G930F. It has rooted successfully and I was able to use multiple root required apps. As I am a big fan of Pokemon Go, but a fan whom has very little time I hoped that I can use my rooted device for my advantage.
So my problem is that whenever I try to move ANY downloaded app to system/app using Lucky Patcher, after the phone reboots the app is gone, the icon is no-where found in the list, using ES File Explorer, using the root explorer the com. file is no-where found either, not in the data/app folder neither in the system/app folder.
I have tried various different ways to transfer the application to system/app. I have tried Lucky patcher, by installing the application from google play and using lucky patcher to move it into system/app. I have tried using some other google play store app, system/app mover root, I have tried installing the app throught lucky patcher straight onto system/app, I have tried cutting the com. folder from data/app and pasting it into system/app but by doing that the application did not even start up. After reboot the app was gone. I have also ensured that the system partition is set to ReadWrite before executing any of the above actions.
Just in case anyone asks, I have followed numerous tutorials, none of which have helped. I was able to also root my sony Xperia Z2, and install the GPS Spoofer and set it as a system/app without any problems.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You!
