I am totally taking a shot in the dark (ha ha ha ha) but would there be a way to write a script that would alow you to use the flash with the camcorder to be able to record at night or in low light places.
Don't even know if it's possiable but would like to see.
there alredy is a way . just get LED desire light from the market and turn it on then go to the camcorder and record at night =)
LED light, sense like widget, from the market does the trick too. I through it on a homescreen right above camcorder for quick and easy access

So updated my S4 i9500 octa-core version, and it works great so far, but i noticed one feature missing, which is the HDR video camera. Does anybody know where to find it?
Same on i9505 think samsung have either turned the feature on so it's on all the time or they have bulled us
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
I am interested too. I haven't found it.
Well that is annoying, Samsung hasn't given us an explanation yet.
HDR video recording function can be enabled via switching the Camera Mode to Rich tone (HDR), then you may have the HDR recording using Video Record button. Before the update of MEA version or above the HDR video recording button is disabled.
Hope to help.
No it doesn't help. Video is same independently what mode i choose. It affecs only on
photos.

That doesn't work. Before the MEA update, the video record button was still present in HDR mode.

Strange.. I'm using I9500XXUBMEA firmware & the HDR video record button is enabled after the update. Before the update, the button is present but not enabled.

A screen shot would be nice, as I see no HDR button anywhere before or after the update.

Thank you!
I still think that button has always been there in HDR mode (and usuable).

I think that has always been there, because when using rich tone setting you could always press the record button but it didn't record in HDR mode, and I think it's still the same as it is now on the mea update unless it's been tested that it is HDR mode.

The record button is there but it's disabled (Disabled here doesn't mean it's not seen, it's there but can't be pressed to record video) once you switched to HDR mode in older firmware, if you don't believe then you can flash back to older firmware than MEA & try.

Off and on samples. Difference, as expected, zero
Focused on the blown-out part of the video. Which, when using proper HDR, would show some difference at least imho.
[Edit] Just for reference, here two photographs without and with HDR enabled. Difference is relatively clearly visible.

Thanks. That is the issue. Is there anyone who can upload positive result in which we can see difference due to Rich Tone mode?

There's no HDR Video Mode, Samsung lied
I've found that the photos' quality taken at HQ mode are slightly better then those taken at HDR mode.
But it required to switch from HDR mode manually every time you use the camera app.
Is there any way to lock at HQ mode?
Is HQ mode even available on the OnePlus 5? Can you post screenshots showing it?

Yes it is..
Anyway don't know how to lock it.
Does anyone else have a problem with video recording? No matter which app I use the camera hunts for focus occasionally resulting in the frame zooming in and out, or out and in, slightly. I can't manage to get more than 3/5 seconds of rock solid framing?
I have the same issue (LineageOS 14.1) and came here to ask which app I should use to avoid this problem!
This video shows the refocusing really well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCcEp3oD4aY

Do you use the stock ROM or a custom ROM like I do?
Maybe ZTE will repair your phone?

It looks like your camera is refocussing a lot more frequently than mine!
I'm running the Stock ROM and camera app at the moment. I don't think it's a hardware problem as the camera does not refocuss when taking a still photo.
I can't have ZTE look at it as there's no service center in the UK (and I bought it from Gearbest).

You are right! :good: I changed the 'touch focus duration' in the LOS camera app from '0s' to 'infinite' and now the focus does only change if I click elsewhere!
There should a similar setting in the stock camera app!

I can't find such a setting in the stock camera app!
But I did find it in the Open Camera app!

You mean 'Open Camera' (Camera App) - https://f-droid.org/app/net.sourceforge.opencamera? Which setting you changed? I had no refocussing without changing any setting.

Using Open Camera has fixed the problem for me!
The stock camera app only seems to have fixed focus settings for the stills camera!

To answer myself: The small icons in the menu represent the different focus modes! :good:

Yes it took a while to find the settings! The continuous autofocus setting ("c") causes my Mini to hunt for focus every 2/3 seconds. All the other settings work as expected with no hunting.
Doh! I've just found that you can lock focus and exposure using the Stock camera app! You just need to long press on the target circle after you have selected the object you want to focus on.
https://youtu.be/Un0FJCYKTcM?t=216
Once locked you can choose another object to focus another and it will lock focus on that without having to long press again.
I installed the last stable version for Oreo/Razer and have been getting weird flashes of exposure and auto brightness adjustments at the beginning of a video record. Actually this happens on all other previous and new versions that have working video as well. This also persists even if I lock exposure in the UI. The stock Razer cam app doesn't exhibit this behavior using video. Anyone else seeing this?
