anyone tried juicedefender & ultimatejuice on aria?

I started using it yesterday. Seems to work ok. A bit annoying when I open up the mail client after juice defender killed the network connection, since I get an initial network error.

Is anyone else having intermittent drops while connected to wifi? I've noticed my wifi drops and reconnects especially when there is heavy wifi usage... I've tried TKIP and AES with no better luck with either one.

wifi
last night when i was trying to download an app from marketplace?
Yeah, I've just started noticing that. It wasn't doing it most of yesterday and I was using it pretty heavily. It started last night when I noticed both the 3G and wi-fi icons were on. I restarted wifi and it still showed up like that, so I rebooted. Now it seems like it's always on 3G when I pick it up.
What kind of router are you using?

I used to have this problem regularly with mine and my girl's Droids on 2.1, and appeared to be related to using secured wireless networks. I was able to set up a test wireless network with no security and the disconnects stopped happening. Switch back and 5 to 15 minutes later I was disconnected again. I never found a fix for it on 2.1, but the problem completely went away with 2.2.
Unsure if they're related, but from what people are describing, this sounds exactly like the issues I used to have prior to rooting/2.2 on our Droids.
I noticed that it was with wep encryption only. I looked through wpa and etc and there was less dropage. Now, i don't know if your all aware, the ipad does the same thing. The only place i seen it hold up well was the wpa and the hotspot app on board.
I wonder if this is just the new radios and modems in these devices?

Well I'm using WPA2 on a d-link 855... I thought about trying no security, but hate the idea that I may have to do that.

Diego dude, you're running 2.2 on your droid? I wish we could do that on the DX...

OK. Let me start by saying I'm not an expert but I may have found a solution. Go to wi-FI networks and go to wireless settings. Then click on options hard key and choose advanced. then choose Wi-Fi sleep policy and set it to never.
So far so good for me. Let me know if anyone has any luck.

nice find thanks
Trying it now!

Yeah, I'm still having major issues. My phone will drop WiFi very often. Im going to try unsecured next. I've tried changing from tkip to are, tried turning off the sleep function... nothing. It happens most frequently when I'm doing heavy traffic like from or two another computer, where it maxes out the bandwidth capabilities of the phone...

My issue is that some apps don't work well with wifi, like google voice when sending txts (it just hangs then says times out)

Have you double checked not only the advanced settings under Wifi for always on, but which battery profile you're running? The default profile is the Smart one, which disables wifi/3g after so many minutes of being idle after peak hours.
i will try this thanks i do use the smart profile
I read several articles and then under wireless security changed the WPA Algorithm to TPIK and have not had a drop or WIFI issue since. Let me know if it resolves your issue.

Well I should say I can connect but my computer says I have limited connectivity and cannot connect to the internet. I have no clue what to do to fix this. any help would b awesome. I am rooted and running Iced Glacier
Didn't the myTouch 4G come out in November?

Anybody have any advice?
I need a little bit more information on your situation.
Does every computer have trouble connecting to the hotspot, or is it just one computer? Can you test it with a few different devices?
On the computer that you have trouble with, try this:
Run --> CMD. When you are in the dos screen, type ipconfig /flushdns
Let me know if that works. If not, answer the question that I posted.
I have also noticed that running some ad blockers will block certain websites from being able to connect when you are using the wireless hot spot. Removing them fixed any problems I had with it.
I had this problem as well. I even.called tmo and added the service for the support, and the did not help.
I wiped and pit a fresh flash of my Rom and it worked fine. Then I restored all my apps w data and it still worked fine.
Then I restored system data and I got the same problem.
So I reflashed and did not restore system data and all is now working..

Did the dns flush and it still won't connect. Don't think it has anything to do with it. Any other suggestions?

I flashed Synergy this evening and I've been having connection issues with multiple programs. Facebook is saying no route to host, Amazon App Store says cannot load details, and Netflix was giving me a connection with server error but eventually connected and was fine. Where I am I get between 1 and 2mbs on 3g so its not a signal issue and the browser and xda app work fine. Any ideas what could be causing this?

When I use adfree, after a couple of minutes my internet connection stops working. I'm still connected to the WiFi. I can restore the internet by reconnecting to the WiFi network but the same problem happens again after a couple of minutes. Upon restoring the hosts file, the problem is gone.
Any ideas? I still want to use adfree but this problem is too much.

There's a relatively new app in the market called AdAway. Working for me at the moment.

My Facebook app (including Messenger) cannot connect to Facebook over my wireless network. This has been happening for weeks now. All of my other apps, including the browser, can connect to the internet over my wireless network with no problems (I can even access the Facebook mobile website via the web browser). The Facebook app will only work over WiFi. When on my wireless network, it just shows "updating" for a long time, until eventually displaying a "network error" message.
There have been a few times in the past couple weeks, however, where the app will connect and update over the wireless network. Unfortunately, this only lasts a few hours or so, and then it resumes not working again. Perhaps this means I'm having account issues.
I have tried clearing the app data/cache, uninstalling and re-installing the app, restarting my phone, etc. to no avail. I am using stock Android on a Nexus 4.
Anyone else having this problem? I've searched the web for this problem, and information seems to be scarce.
Someone started this same thread already. Its got something to do with the newest update. Use friendcaster for the time being is my only suggestion.

Happening to me too but friendcaster doesn't work either. I am forced to download a dns changer and set them to opendns and then it mysteriously works fine. Native app and all. Started with the LTE rollout here in San Diego

Yeah, Friendcaster didn't work for me either.
I think I figured it out... The Facebook app has problems when WiFi is on when there is not a WiFi connection. If you turn off WiFi it seems to work on the wireless network.
Actually, that didn't work. Oh well. Back to using the mobile website.
Edit your APN settings to use IPv4 only and not IPv4/IPv6. See if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the suggestion, by my APN is already set to only use IPv4. However, the app has suddenly started working again, which makes me think this whole problem is server side. Hope it lasts. Crossing my fingers.
