If I have a recovery image that I backed up with Clockwork Recovery back before I installed the OTA update, can I safely restore that image with ROM Manager, and go back to the old radio, and then safely unroot from there by restoring the stock RUU?
Will this work, or will my radio not work?
I have a few backups I could restore from 2 weeks ago, just curious.
I found this thread:

Confirmed it works!

instead of SBFing back to stock completely so I can flash the rooted GB? I'd rather not mess with the hassle of SBFing. To be more clear, I rooted, made a backup, and flashed Liberty 1.5 to be where I am now. Can I just restore that first backup and then flash GB? Thx.
If the backup is based on 2.3.20 then yes you can flash GB from that.
sweet thx a lot
I have made a CWR backup of my rooted 1.1 stock rom with all my installed apps. I tried out the new 1.2 update and then tried to restore my backup. Everytime I connect to Wifi I get a message about problem authinticating and having to reflash to stock. How can I get my backup to restore correctly? Wipe data/cache? Won't that take out all my apps? Or am I stuck going back through 1.1 stock, autonooter, install apps/titanium restore?
Well, I really appreciate the pre rooted ROMS for the i9505 and everything is working good, even OTA and official status. :good:
As flashing a custom recovery makes it unofficial (so no OTA), the only way I've found in order to make a full nandroid backup is using the Online Nandroid Backup app from the Google Play Store. I obtained a CWM backup file that I stored on my external SD card.
Now, in order to make a full nandroid restore of my previous backup (not only apps but the whole system), I have to flash again a custom recovery. Sadly, when doing this, I have to reflash again the stock recovery, to use Triangle Away and to make a full wipe for having official status and OTA back again :crying:
I wonder if there is another way to restore my full nandroid bakcup without using a custom recovery or without affecting the flash counter/official status ?
Thanks !
Here is what happened.... I had stock 4.2.2 on my rooted nexus 4. This is when i made the twrp backup of my system and data and recovery I flashed cyanogen Mod. I flashed back to stock. Then while still rooted i upgraded to 4.3 from the device... then i rerooted. When i rerooted i flashed the newest version of twrp recovery 2.6. and i cant restore from my backup for some reason.... I tried to flash old versions of twrp and restore with no luck ... please help because i need the files for titanium backup to work. How do i get the data from that backup?
Try Nandroid Manager on the Play Store.

I am trying it now but it just keeps decompressing over and over and when i check to see if there is any user apps or data it says none but i know the backup has it
I just rooted my S5 to PB1 (have '11 eMMC so no MM) per another thread in this forum and had set everything up, then decided to make a full backup with SafeStrap. I loaded Safestrap-G900V-4.04_LL_MM, installed it, went to recovery and then made a full backup to the SDCard.
After completing the backup, I ended up in a SS loop and somehow back to a completely reset phone (however still rooted). I am looking for how to reinstall the backup correctly.
I plan to load all the necessary apps to once again get SS installed and to recovery. Is there anything special to do once I RESTORE my backup? Do I need to also install LL_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip again after the RESTORE?
EDIT: THE ABOVE IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. INSTALLED SUPERUSER.APP, THEN BUSYBOX, THEN SAFESTRAP FROM THE PACKAGE USED TO ROOT. ONCE IN SS INSTALLED MY BACKUP, THEN INSTALLED THE LL_KERNEL_SS-FF_Flashable.zip WITHOUT WIPING ANYTHING. GOT IT TO BOOT, STILL ROOTED, ALL FILES BACK...
Thanks
