Beware Windows live / Facebook - HD2 General

If you have installed new windows live essentials beta, there is a service feature to link your facebook profile to your msn messenger. DO NOT do this, causes sync issues in windows mobile. mainly editing a contact on your phone. i had to change my email account because of this. microsoft are wan**ers and can't help!!!!!!!

is there a Live Beta for WM ? Link ?

google, live essentials beta! try this on a test account tho!!! have been warned
live essentials is pc program

I have to say that personally, I've linked my Facebook profile amongst others with Windows Live and have installed the Wave 4 Windows Live Essentials beta and have had no sync issues with Windows Live on Windows Mobile...
Weird.

Windows Live Mobile and Windows Live Search

I am so confused...
What is the difference between the two? Doesn't Windows Live Mobile come with Windows Live Search?
I heard that Windows Live Mobile syncs your MSN contacts over and duplicates it in your contacts list, I DO NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN.
What version should i use of each program if I don't want the contact duplication problem? I am using the AX3L cooked rom on my Trinity, can some please help to shine some light into this? There seems to be so many different builds and versions for this that i have read. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Microsoft has really confusing branding.
Windows live search is microsoft's search engine at live.com
Windows live search mobile is a program for mobiles that is basically a mapping/local search program
Windows live messenger is an program for mobiles that is basically an IM/Email program that works with your MSN account. I think this program is also labeled as "MSN" on some devices/installations.
Does that clear things up?

Live Messenger doesn't work

Since now 4 weeks after i installed a new ROM i can't connect to MSN via wiondows live messenger mobile anymore..... i tried 3 accounts, but the same problem with all of them..... I also tried 4 different ROMs, with no sucess.....
Is something wrong with the microsoft msn servers? Because imov and eBuddy can connect me to messenger, but windows live mobile doesn't (with desktop windows live messenger everything is fine also)
Please tell me what to do if you know something, because live messenger is much more comfortable than iMov.....(and i only need MSN network....)
thanks!

[Q] Need help with syncing calendars

I'm having a really hard time setting up calendar syncing with my phone. I've done lots of research and I'm taking tiny steps but it's so frustrating I was hoping someone with more experience could help.
I have an HD2 (hence this forum) and I'm running WM6.5.x and Android FroYo. I wanted to set up a calendar I could update on either OS as well on my PC and on the interwebz.
So, I've got my Windows Live account which syncs everything but Calendar to my WM OS but is great for PC/net, I have my Google calendar, which I exported the iCal link for Live to use, which I assume will sync with android automatically and finally I installed office outlook 2010 (which I don't wanna use) to try syncing with my Live calendar to my WM OS which failed because Mobile Device centre doesn't recognise 64-bit Office! apparently neither does google's calendar sync app (error 1011, even after attempting all the fixes).
To summarise:
Google->Windows Live<->Outlook 2010 x64

Android
Windows Mobile
I'm going to try Companionlink to connect Outlook to Google, but i'm looking for a simpler solution. I'm not convinced my microsoft exchange with google is working (I get the amber icon when I try to sync and nothing changes) so if someone thing's it'll be necessary, that'll need sorting.
PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks for reading
I managed to fix the microsoft exchange to google from my wm os by removing tasks from the sync list.
Campanion link (v3) however is fairly useless and I'm not paying for software to do something which should happen automatically and be set up easily.
I also found a way to view my windows live calendar on google, but both
windows live->google
and
google->windows live
are one way, and work separately to eachother (acting as another calendar)
I may be able to clear my google calendar and just sync the copy from my windows live calendar to my android OS, but this will never sync back to windows live meaning everything has to be done from windows live (on my PC).
Alternatively I could try the opposite and clear my windows live calendar and have it just show my google calendar which will properly sync (2-way) with both phone OSs, but is less convenient to use on my PC.
Finally, I stumbled across a website called Mash iCal, which supposedly merges calendars from multiple sources and feeds them back through each source so they all match. This would be great, except windows live wouldn't let me allow it.
It seems every solution has a flaw, it would be really useful to get some fresh ideas from people

questions before migrate my HD2 on WM7

Hi,
My HD2 is on WM 6.5.
I want to install a W7 rom on it but i have some questions before doing it.
How can i migrate my contacts ?my sms, my appointements?
The microsoft activation is obliged ?
Thanks
(sorry for my bad english)
First of all, its Windows Phone 7 and not Windows Mobile 7.
Your contacts can be imported from your SIM card if you have backed it up onto that, or Windows Phone also has the options to sync with your Gmail contacts and Windows Live Client and even Facebook contacts. SMS cannot be backed up but appointment's can likewise be synced with Outlook or from your Gmail account.
You only need the Microsoft activation if you want live services to be activated i.e, Marketplace, Zune and probably other stuff. I don't see the problem of going to Microsoft chat and politely asking for an activation code ... it takes probably 5 minutes at the most.
Give it a shot, Windows Phone is pretty fantastic and with the upcoming Mango update it'll be even better
I can second the Microsoft Chat for activation. It takes about 5min. Just tell them you have an HD7 that is asking for activation, your name, and number. You will have yourself a fully functional WP7 device. If you don't have it already, you might as well download ZUNE for pc (much easier to download apps and music).
