How does one set an MP3 file as the alarm clock? Do I have move around files? If so, which folder do I move my MP3 file into?
Media>Audio>Alarms Place your MP3 there and you should be good to go.

Hi
I use my alarm every day to wake me up and the default sounds are just terrible and highly annoying firth thing.
Where do I need to place a sound file so it will appear in the list and I can then select it???
Thanks guys

They need to be in the WINDOWS folder which is in the route of the main memory, then you'll have them listed as text message options and alarm notifications... I know WAV files are picked up, not used other formats...
Yes, only WAV files can be used for Alarm sounds.
If you want to use them as ringtones too, copy them into \WINDOWS\RINGS - you can use MP3s or WAVs in this one.

Click to collapse
Also WMA and MIDs if you have them... which includes most of those theme tunes that everyone has!
hi. i cannot find any solution to put my fav mp3s like alarms in the clock preferences to wake up in the morning with something better than the default sounds... any solutions? thanks,
Convert the MP3 file you want as your alarm into a wav file, then place the wav file in the windows directory on the PDA.
If it is just for your morning wake up alarm, try downloading Mortplayer ... it is a free music player which has a built in alarm clock feature which will play either a playlist or a single file to wake you up.
Just try to keep the WAV file no more than 500-700kB. Tried once an alarm with 1MB wav file and it took about 2-3 mins for the alarm to sound after the initial wakeup time.
Save WAV files 22kHz/16bit/mono and don't use alarms longer than 20secs and you should be fine.
use pocket alarm
Hi i want to use one .mp3 or .wav from one song like alarm sound. I already try to put this song at My ringtones folder, but don't appear at alarm soud selecction :S
Anyone know how i can fix it?

You put them in the \Windows folder (as opposed to \Windows\Ringtones). A full guide, with screenshots, is available here: http://pocketpccentral.net/help/new_alarm_file.htm
thanks a lot
Great help!!! added to my favourites
Before on Lollipop, I remember that I can set mp3 songs as my alarm wakeup on the stock alarm clock.. Just place the mp3 files inside the "Alarms" folder. Now on 6.0, the stock android alarm doesnt pick up any mp3 songs... I rather not use any 3rd part apps, does anyone know how to get this to work?
Have not tried for an alarm, but I put an MP3 in the Ringtones folder in the "SDcard" and it shows up in the ringtone list. You have to put the file in the folder and reboot the phone, I believe. Could also try converting to .ogg instead of MP3.
