Can anyone tell me how to add more dock icons with Launcher Pro? Thanks
Regarding adding more dock icons, simply swipe the bottom portion of the screen left or right. It SHOULD take you to a set of five blank dock items. From there you simply long press on each icon you want to replace with a shortcut.

I was thinking of a nice "concept" of launcher kind of Today plugin of app launcher (like iLauncher , Pocket Plus, etc.).
Usually this kind of app will use TAB and most of the time will consume a lot of screen estate (area).
My idea of a good launcher :
1. Using big icon size
2. Only one row of icon (without TAB), maybe 5 icons max.
3. You can slide that row with your finger to display other icons (shortcuts), with scrolling animation if possible
4. Double Tab of the icon to launch the app (or tab+hold). This is necessary because we need to reserve the single tab to slide the icons.
Is this a good idea or not?
Well, one might ask "I have a lot of shortcuts and it will be annoying if I must scroll/slide a lot".
That's correct, but another idea is to have somekind of "Page container" to hold, let say max 12 icons (3x4) The page will be displayed as a popup ...
Anyway, just my idea

So a sort of HTC home Today app?????
Whats wrong with HTC Home?
Problem with HTC Home:
1. It is TOO BIG (require about 50% of screen estate).
2. It can only hold 1 tab for application launcher (with only 9 max shortcuts).
So, it is pretty useless if you have more than 9 app shortcuts that you want.
My idea is to have just 1 "row" of icons that you can "scroll / slide" through to display next apps/shortcuts.

Gotcha.
Maybe cool, but not for me, as I do the basics with my fingers, Call, read emails/SMS, launch Calenders, etc and when the need arises just whip out the stylus for the rest.
I say develop it...sounds like a good idea!
Does anyone know how to put the Bottom drawer to the side on the home screen? Some guysays he "hacked" it but usually when people use the works hack they usually are some loser with a dowloaded app. Or something. I've looked around to find some source code in the firmware that dictates where the drawer is to be but I can't find it (that's where it was on my iphone).. so if anyone has done this or knows how to do this could you let me know?
i've glitched it to the side a few times and it's kinda ugly over there. the whole setup of the homescreen rely's on the app drawer being at the bottom. to move it you would have to change how the icons appear on the screen and you would lose some space
no biggie

This looks like ADW launcher. It is one of the default options when it is installed. I don't use ADW, so i'm not sure, but if it does not show up, I believe from reading around that if you go into ADW launcher preferences that you can set whether or not the screen indicator (dots) show up on either side of the dock bar.
Launcher Pro will also do that. It has 5 icons on the dock, and you just set the outer two icons to the Homescreens shortcuts. Long press on either one, choose Change Shortcut from the pop-up menu, and select Homescreens. Another menu will come up asking if you want Previous screen or Next screen. You want Previous for the left and Next for the right.

Ah... yes Saaber is correct... I forgot LP also had that option... I just never use them...
Well the other morning i turned my phone on and noticed something really strange. At the bottom of my screen where the MAIN ICONS are, PHONE, MESSENGER, CONTACTS, and APPS, I am now missing the ICON for CONTACTS.
To repeat, instead of 4 icons, i now have 3?? And my contact icon is MIA. Inorder for me to access them i had to go to my APPS and bring it to my homescreen. Has this happened to anyone else???
Folow these instructions. Hit the apps drawer icon. Once inside, hit Menu>Edit then drag the contacts or whatever icons you want in to the dock. Then save and problem solved.

Don't drag it towards the trash can but instead to the end of that drawer to the left of the 1st icon.
Do you BONSAI?
Ok. Hit the Home soft button to go to your homescreen. Hit the blue icon on the bottom of the screen that looks like a window, this is your Applications drawer. Hit the Menu soft key, then click the Edit option on the screen. Drag the contacts icon, or whatever you choose, and drag it into the dock. You can configure the three icons to whatever you want them to be. Easier?

thanks guys, i was able to add another icon into the tray, i chose to add facebook instead of contacts, since u can add contacts from other screens.
Also, you can enter contacts from the phone icon as well. The contact icon is redundant in my opinion.

The system always adds new icons (not to Home Screen, where you can move them around) alphabetically. Is there anyway to let it add app icons as the iPhone does? Always add to the last available position, so I can find the the old apps at the same location on the screen. Thanks in advance!:good:

Why don't you just position them yourself? Just long press, drag and drop.
