I'm trying to change the red version numbers on the splash screen, I've tried going through S0001 in nk.exe but have had no luck finding the second set of number, changing the first set doesn't do anything.

A method that may be slightly easier is to edit the NBH itself. EVK would do that, but it's offsets are wrong.
You'll need a hex editor, and just search in the NBH for the strings, both as ASCII and UNICODE. The strings are some way in to the NBH (I think around an offset of 0x7500) but they move depending on the ROM.
thanks, i'll try that and let you know how it goes
hm, went through the nbh and wasn't able to find it, just the same string that's in nk.exe, any other thoughts how to find it? i'm actually really surprised i didn't find it there
anyone else with ideas how to do this?

it's in the nk.exe ... just use the hex editor, and search for the version number that's currently appearing on your device.
I dunno if you read my OP but i've changed the first number in NK.exe using a hex editor and it didn't change anything, and it wasn't the actual ROM version number, it was just the base number "1.48.00.00", i searched for the full string of numbers that appears at boot "1.48.405.2" and didn't find it, how did you change yours?
the string is in unicode.
thanks, i found second part of the string, so now my boot screen displays 2.66.82076, but i edited the string to display 1.66.82076, so that first number is getting pulled from somewhere else. I've found everywhere with 2.10 in ANSI and Unicode and replaced them, but obviously searching for the number "2" isn't going really going to help, so does anyone know where this base version number might be stored?
has anyone been able to resolve this with 2.xx ROMs?

I just hex edit it... Works fine for me.
I'm hex editing nk.exe/s000 at 0x1783C (or there abouts) the 2.10... starts. I've edited mine to 2.10.l3v5y and that works fine.

have you tried editing it to "1.10.l3v5y", because I don't think it will work. I had no problem editing the "10.l3v5y" part, but it still always reads 2 as the first number.

Try editing the very first 2.10 at the start of the file.

Change Rom Version/Date
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM]
"ROMVersion"="xxxxxxxxxxxx"
"ROMDate"="xxxxxxxx"
Edit xxxxxxxxx as you like.
There you go m8.

That does not apply to the red numbers
To change the red numbers, Open nk.exe (S000 if not recmodded) with a hex editor, search for the string appearing on your device as Unicode and edit as fitted

You can do this by XIPPorterEx by ervius and udk. This program is integrated in ervius kitchen.
Ok, i've use XIPPorterEx by ervius and udk for change th rom version, but i've a number 3 before my rom version name. Is this number come from payload file ?
Thanks
Yes... in fact, that sign must be certain number of numbers so... my bootscreen in hermes nk even the native.. is 3.35+QuePPC
Cause if I add one more char to it... the rom dont boots... the 3.35 is out of the xiporterex app but isintegrated into the payload as you said... and i simply cant get rid of it.. cause the hermes wont boot maybe yours yes, but guess what... i dont know where it is or should be on the nk.
its been awhile since i have done this...but maybe i can remember right i think you open up s000 of nk.exe in a hex editor, search for the rom version number on your first boot screen converted to hex. then replace all but the first character with your text, it has be the exact same number of characters.
At least for TOpaz it works, I think the easy way to do it, is to have EVK with OEMXipKernel inside, then with XipPorterex change the date and Rom Number, once completed, copy NK.exe file to Ondraster Kitchen
This avoid to deal with hex editor
I was trying to figure out how to change the red text on the first Splash screen you see when you reboot your phone. Thanks for any help.

Well I am new to ervius, but so far I've learned that you can changed the last line of the red (for a touch pro) by using the xip portex button within the kitchen, and change the date of the xip.bin file of the build that you are using.
http://www.techparaiso.com/windows-...rsion-information-on-any-windows-phone-device
The site above describes how you can change the date within the hex. Maybe the same file has the other text to change....

The only issue is VK creates the XIP on the go. Thanks tho
EDIT: Actually that helps since it involves nk.exe. Thanks!!
my cooked rom dont allow create, install cab or change any file on device
also start icon and any icon on bottom taskbar has problem
i thought problem is in certification at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Security\SystemCertificates
in my cooked rom i cant see any root certification at start->settings->system->certificates
i use XIP/SYS build 28230 at joojoobee666.ppckitchen.org/Kitchens/
when i change only SYS folder of XIP/SYS Da_G's 23563 instead of 28230 sys in my kitchen problem Obviation an i see root certification and file access Error removed too
what do you think about that?
also sorry for my very bad English
Make sure you have all of the same packages in the new sys. Make sure you have the Metadata package. Maybe you're missing the default certs in there.

there is different in packages size but all of same package exist in Both
also metadata pack exist and all file of this package exist such as DefaultCerts.dat
i decide to download build 23563 of joojoobee666.ppckitchen.org/Kitchens and compare file by file whit build 23563 of DA_G to finding problem
thx for your reply
hi
well comparison between SYS folders(using windiff) resulted that everything is equal except
location of RAM slots which exist in imageinfo.bin of modules (also S000 ,S001,...)
i use same xip make it from DA_G 23563 for both cook
are you thinking that different ram slot location can cause the problem
any idea ?
I cooked 6.5 build 23563 - local 0415 PLK. I took Native Kernel and OEMDrivers form this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6291103 - NK and Drivers Works (in drivers missing few thinks but i resolved this problem). When I used 6.5 Initflashfiles.dat - 0415 to from this same topic almost every thinks don't work: camera, phone calls, voice record. I have not even shortcuts for ex. to camera and voice record
When I used initflashfiles.dat (form org. 6.1 ROM) this all working but I can't set custom ring-tone I geting message "error during coping ring-tone do \My Documetns\My Ring-tones...". I suppose it's fault of "initflashfiles.dat" file.
Could anyone get mi working "initflashfiles.dat" file to 6.5 build for Kaiser?
P.S. I compared this "initflashfiles.dat" files i notepad and I saw in new initflashfiles.dat (6.5) is missing few thinks, is for ex. camera shortcut:

Or maybe I should add this all my sefl to new "initflashfiles.dat"?
Exactly!! add them by yourself and if you want the initflashfiles HEX translator you can see the main stickie thread to download it and change the values accordly to the name you want to show for shortcuts
Can I change patch's from hex to normal text? What difference is it hex or text? One of then is faster or what?
