Just sync with Gmail for your contacts. It is a google os after all ;-)

Export to pc, then sync via htc sync, or copy to sd card and import in contacts app

Just wondering what is the fastest or easiest method to completely copy over everything from one vibrant to another as I just got my replacement today. I would love to copy all my apps and settings. Also will I lose all the apps I purchased? Thanks!!

No ideas? I guess I'll just start doing it the old fashion way lol
Your contacts, calendar should be synced to gmail already. Try using mybackup pro or titanium backup for things like app data but I believe you still have to download the apps to your phone again. Purchased apps are saved to your purchase history via gmail

If your are rooted use Titanium Back up. MyBackup Pro is good for things like text.

Yessir, found this all out hehe... thanks though!!!!
Is there any reasonably simple way to move all of my contacts to a PC, where I can easily remove duplicates and alter details and then replace them on my phone?
I use Outlook as my contact *manager and MyPhoneExplorer to sync them with the phone. But you could use just MPE to manage your contacts. I would mention Google but, even though I have an Android phone, I have no idea what using Google/Gmail/whatever is like for managing contacts.

I switched from outlook to Google when I moved from windows mobile to Android. If you go into Google contacts on your pc I'm pretty sure it has a feature to remove or merge duplicates.

It does

The contact pics have disappeared in my sms's. It's not a facebook issue as I've removed all facebook apk's and odex's.
Anyone know a fix?

There is a thread about 10 places down from this one, try the possible fix from that one.
Thanks for your reply but no luck. Htc apps suck. I'm gonna try to find the 2.2 sms app and install it because it all works fine with cyanogenmod rom, just not the stock rom.

Solved.. removed htc sense account. Saved contacts to sd. Deleted contacts in google webmail. Synced from phone then restored contacts from sd and left sense account removed.
All down to htc sense. Pain in the nuts.

Can someone ttell me how to save all my contacts to my sd card so for whenever I switch roms? Or can I also do this on titanium backup?

Is there something wrong with using your google mail account for your contacts? That's how I did it when I tried out different ROMs. So you don't have to have the issue with saving it and restoring it. All you'd have to do is sync your phone with your google mail account.

Everytime I save them and sync and get a new rom I no longer have those contacts but I just backed up everything with titanium

Make sure your contacts are being created under your mail account and not on phone storage.

+5 on wtf is wrong with google?
however... as a criminal throttler (according to tmobile) if I want to flash a rom after a wipe and I am not near wifi my only alternative is to manually restore ****. Why? Because resyncing a **** load of data back to my phone while throttled makes me want to eat my phone in front of a tmobile rep. infuritating! (Its like driving a WWII era moped on the expressway)
but thats one reason why i sometimes need to avoid the gumminess of google. because it pisses off tmobile.
Another reason some people may not use Google for all of their syncing is if they use Google for personal contacts, but still have business/miscellaneous contacts (and their business does not use something like Google or MS Exchange that they can set up a sync for).
Granted, they could set up another Google account for the business ones, but maybe it's not allowed due to corporate IT policy or something. Everyone's usage model is different...
