Hi all
I'm looking 4 a new phone since my Touch II stopped working. I'm interested in Imagio. However, I've read many topics complaining Imagio's battery and RAM issues. Could u advise me on this? Are the issues solved? Can new ROM help?
As ur usage experience, how long does the battery last after fully charged in normal use?
Hello, I'm a pretty new user to the imagio myself but if you install the app "regedit" and edit a few values (they're around here somewhere, I can't remember off the top of my head) it froms from 75+% to 40%. As for the battery, Ive had very good battery life, its ran a few days with active use without a charge and never died on me.

So some registry editing could help with the battery life? My normal use is fone (40mins/day), sms (10-15 sms/day), abt 1-2 hours of wifi/3G, reading stories (1h/day). Can the fone live for 2 days?
No, the regedit helps the memory usage stay low.

Hi,
I was using wizard for almost 3 years and never had any problem with battery life, it could last 1 day of heavy usage.
But with elfin p3452, the battery goes like of 1 minute call 3% battery decreases, if i will talk about 30 minutes my whole battery will get empty, i dont know the solution for this.
Can it be a radio rom related issue, or flashing to new roms will solve the problem?? Any idea

How old is your elfin? And how old is your battery? I'm assuming you've already tried all the default things to conserve battery power right?
1. Clearing receive beams
2. Keeping bluetooth off unless required
3. Make sure wifi is not connected
4. Keep backlight at level 2 brightness (recommended)
5. Make sure all programs are set on X to close. Make sure nothing's running in the background
If your battery dips 3% in 1 minute, I'd be tempted to take it to the HTC service rep and get it checked out. It's definitely not supposed to be doing that. Could be a faulty battery. Though I'm not sure how knowledgeable the reps are in Mumbai coz they sure as hell suck in Hyderabad. lol.
hi‚ i hav just purchased‚ though it is second hand‚ 1 yr old. I hav charged the phone yesterday whole night and now after 12 hrs minimal use only phone calls and little internet it is 40%. can you tell me wat mA it is using‚ mine is 200 mA (battery status)‚ with wizard it use to be at 20-30 mA
Well, why not get a original HTC Battery and test it out.
Borrow one from your friends for a day and test it out!
Can someone post some tips to get a better battery performance?
I have my Touch 3G less then a week ago and the battery is during only 1.5 days with SMS and few more things...
Thanks.
what connections do you have turned on all day? i usually disable wireless lan and data connections when i dont need them, and that saves me some battery.
also set the backlight options so that the light fades out when your not using your Jade.
Avoid:
- WLAN (especially the high-power mode)
- Bluetooth on all the time
- High CPU load (like games, etc)
- Display (the brighter the higher the power consumtion)

I got them all turned off and disabled too the screen auto-adjust option and put the brightness at 1/3.
Now I got these times:
Standby: 40.5 h
Conversation: 0 h
Utilization: 4:39 h (most of the time with SMS)
And 1/5 of the battery. I think that isn't too much.
The battery was charged only two times.

I hope not.
It seems that the touchscreen spends too much battery while writing SMS!

Hi Blackaos
I am curious how you put the brightness at 1/3.
I remember there is no adjustment, just check or dont check "auto adjust backlight"...

Jade is supposed to be the best in low power usage and lasting battery power.
This is my battery performance.
1) Normal daily calls (about 20) and SMS (about 20) - last 3.5 days without charging (still about 5% left)
2) Use GPS for about 30 mins - drains about 5% of the battery
3) Use Wi-Fi for about 60 mins - drains about 5 % of the battery.

Your battery probably is one of those that fails the QA level but sneak pass the QA team. You should get a replacement.

Explain that better.
My battery runs out in 2 days.
Has there been a problem with Jade's batteries?
Mine is new from last week:
- 24 standby
- 8 min talking
- 30 SMS
- 7u45min phone usage.

Switch to Flight Mode during night .
I noticed that after a few charges battery seems to last longer
Also have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=463204
I have my 3G for over two weeks now. My battery also lasts for 1,5 days.
For example:
standby:34,6h
talk:208min
device usage: 2h,55min
I use bluetooth connection for my car-kit.
Hello,
is a problem with the sd-card.
You can testing: remove the sd-card and you have standby 200h !!

hi
i just bought my jade 3 days back and i want to change the SMS view from thread view to regular on my old gene i was doing this by using advanced confugrator but it does not work on this mobile its asking me to upgrade my .net
pls advise
1.how do i get the updated .net for my mobile
2.how to change the view of SMS with existing set up
kindly advise thanks in advance
What is the impact to battery performance ?
I've just got back from a holiday in France where I had consistant 3G/HSDPA coverage and got 96hrs Standby, 16min Talktime (Roaming keeps calls short!) and 4.5hrs Usage. This is about double my normal performance at home where the phone spends most of its time on (2.5) GSM. Its obvious that these phones are optimised for 3G over the older GSM system, as at home I get poor 3G reception. These figures are still far short of what is advertised in the spec on the HTC website!
To those who've just bought a new phone, the battery does improve with a few charge/discharge cycles but not a lot! Would be interested in hearing more about the SD card causing drainage and marginal battery performance caused by sub-standard batteries.
Woolly
mine can last for 5 to 6 days if only use wifi for 10 mins...

Well, Its normal to get hot when taking a long call.. (10 min or more), but while in standby, it should NEVER get even WARM (mine stays cold as ice ) !!!
The power drain maybe is cuz your phone is heating.. The heat expands circuits and increase the power drain.

I wouldn't rush to send it back. It all sounds normal to me.
You must remember that the batteries will take a few weeks to attain full capacity operation.
Keep them on charge as much as you can (mains or car/plane etc), don't switch off at night, don't cycle them and don't drain them excessively.
If that does not give an improvement THEN take them back.
When I first got my TD2 I was appalled at the battery life and bought a spare battery. I have never used it.
And when they get warm it shows that they are happily being used or recharged and is no cause for concern.
Hi Cairo,
First of all, sorry for my english.
In my case, I bought my TD2 this summer, & I had some of these problems with the battery.
I'll tell you my steps, perhaps it could help you, if not, you must talk with HTC support.
First, use modaco's nodata to disable HSDPA/3G, use only GSM, it's much better to save battery. the link :http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility-nodata/
Second: Active Sync.
You need a task manager to see notifications.
you must find one of the repllog event.
Use this http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm.
In notifications tab find "repllog AppRunAfterTimeChange" and disable it.
In my case I have disabled two events more, PushInternetScheduleTimeChanged and PushInternetScheduleTimeChanged1 and everything works fine.
After that, in process tab, if repllog appears, kill it, and in notifications tab find again the event "repllog.exe /remote /h",disable too, and use a reg editor (dot's taskmgr has one) and search in hkcu\software\microsoft\ActiveSync, find "KeepAlive" and you must change 1 to 0.
In this case, activesync will never start again, till you connect td2 to laptop or pc with activesync (it changes the value from 0 to 1).
I hope you could understand me and the info is ok for your td2.
Regards

Hey guys, , i apolagise in advanced if this topic is coverd, ive tryied to search but didnt find any related topics.....
Anyway...
I went to a 2 day festival took my x10 - WASTE OF TIME!!!!! couldnt even use it!!!!
Battery had died within first day, with hardly any use and 2nd day i had it charged for me up to 92%...
Checking the times every now and then on the 2nd day from 4pm onwards, i noticed by about 6pm my phone was on 50%, so i was curious about this as no wireless connectivity were turned on,
so at this time, i then "downloaded" from (GSM) not 3g. as coverage wasnt that good, advanced task killer.. i killed ALL my apps.. and carried on as normal, (only checking my phone for the time).. by 8pm i was getting messages saying 15% battery... and then 9pm my phone was dead :/ .......
No wifi, no internet surfing (apart from downloading advanced task killer) no bluetooth no gps..
Used my phone for a couple of text's and a couple of phone calls. NO WAY!!! should that have used all my battery up... Is their somthing i dont know about ??????
thanks
You gotta drain your battery s few times when you first get it. Also task killers don't really help with battery life. Imo they worsen it. Thirdly upgrade to the latest firmware

X10 battery issues has been covered big time
So has in call volume ...
I had the same first few days as you and was pretty dissapointed in the X10 but now things are much better. You do have to cycle the battery a couple of times and you'll see some improvement.
Most of the extra battery life really comes from using newer firmware. Since you didn't mention yours it's difficult to say if you are above or below 023. The 023 firmware seems to be the spot where most of the increased battery life came about.
Since I still wanted more I switched over to a 2600mAh battery from Cameron Sino. Now I have trouble killing the battery
There is something else that might be contributing to the problem... There are a number of apps and home screen widgets out there which are badly written and prevent the phone from sleeping, and therefore drain the battery like a *****... you should try a Factory Data Reset and then add your apps and widgets back in 1 or 2 per day until you have sussed what was causing it.. I had terrible trouble with Weather and Data widget killing my battery for a while..

Good point about the Widgets.
It would be nice, as a matter of fact, if there were a topic on Widgets that cause battery drain. I've read a few posts about specific widgets but have never seen an ongoing thread. I'm off to look for volunteers.
I seriously dont get these battery threads. I know this dosent help much, but I honestly get over 20 hours on a charge consistently, with WIFI and 3g on.
4h only?
Pretty much is a faulty battery/device.
I saw a movie with brightness at maximum using BT with wifi on at the same time and i still had 60%+ left.
Wow that sucks... I think your battery needs to be replaced.
Mine lasts about 4 DAYS
*#*#4636#*#*
Battery history and make sure the phone is sleeping when not in use.
If its showing 100% or close to 100% then an app or something is preventing your phone from properly sleeping.
!!
my personal experience on two batteries one 2 year old (from x1) and brand new one gave me 7 hours of intense usage wifi ( i don't use 3g ), texting gaming and in the mean time playing music after first update, before was maximum 5 hour , also need to mention i need to remove every task except what i'm working with task killer cause in my case every 2-3 hour for some odd reason i have at least 20 apps restarting again in the system which drain battery like hell , time scape and media scape use lots of battery life in auto connect mode so update it whenever u want them , gps is a drainer too i just use it when i'm desperate be careful some programs may automatically use gps without asking! also should say compare to x1 the speed of the lock is at least 10 times faster and not i can get it indoor near the window as well (its cool) !!!! hope energy roms come here as well cause they will blow your mind!
Just update to the latest firmware version and your battery life will be just fine.
If not you coul'd update your phone, root it, install setcpu, and get rid of Timescape & Mediascape.

The wildfire has a really good battery already
No need to calibrate imo. Can last 2+ days for me when I don't abuse the wifi and games.
First feedback.....no noticable difference seen.....What do seem to help is to charge you phone longer even after green light indicates that battery is full.....For me than takes longer to go from 100 to 99.

How do you do this? I'm doing everything, I underclock my phone down to 160-245 Mhz, I turn on my wifi only when I have to, I keep my phone in airplane mode permanently, I constantly run on display turned down to max. And yet I've yet got to witness my phone going over 18h uptime. Do you run a custom ROM or something?

I find the same thing, and have even been thinking of returning it because it can't last longer than 24hrs. I have even restored to stock and hard reset, so no apps added or anything, BT/WIFI off and the battery life still sucks.

Yes I've tried openfire rom and wildpuzzle rom. Battery lasts as I have stated. I also use setcpu to set up profiles when phone screen is off to help it a little
Would also like to add that on the stock rom, the battery lasts long as well but custom rom is better
My phone is a stock. But as you can see, the battery life leaves a lot of room for improvement. How can I increase ir?
Not sure, but after rooting my battery life improved signigficantly, and it also charges fast than before... htc wildifire.
ok so i charged my phone to 100% and left it on my table untouched last night when i got to sleep, left it in my pocket today at uni without using wifi/games, just to check the time, is currently still at 99% with up time of 14hrs so far.
and if you want to maximise your battery life with stock rom, lower brightness, disable auto sync of accounts, disable 3g if you're not using it, try juice defender, i think that might help you guys.

Hmm strange, I have installed it and icon shows normally in application list.
I went through the calibration process and my battery life has increased significantly. Currently I have 5 hours and 12 minutes of uptime with occasional phone calls and some wifi usage - battery is at 99%.
I find that battery life is all about how strong ur signal is.
At home i get a full 3g signal, battery lasts about 30 hours with my syncs on all day, couple of hours of wifi and maybe 30 mins of gaming and about 30mins of phone calls.
When i'm at work and the signal fluctuates i get about 20 hours average.
When i was in a restaurant for a party recently from 7pm to midnight, there was hardly any signal and i used about 60% of the battery in 5 hours!
At the end of the day if the battery lasts for 18hours with all my stuff turned on then i won't complain as the phone does everything you need except make the tea!
I mean what's the point of turning all the smartphone stuff off? Might as well just go and buy a Nokia.
