I thought this didn't play flash video - EVO 4G General

But I am watching Monster's Ball on megavideo right now. Isn't this site considered flash? I'm computer illiterate so what do I know.

HTC included Flash Lite with the EVO.

Ahh ok. I've just heard so many people complain about it I thought it didn't play any. My HTC HD2 played almost anything. My iphone played nothing. LOL

I actually have HTC FLASH PLAYER 2.1 UPDATE 1. I do not see flash player light anymore. I’m running one of the modded for root 1.47.651.1 roms (look stock still) with new WIMAX and Radio. Thought it was interesting when I went through Titanium Backup. All flash works on my phone...some sites slower than other. I’m looking forward to 2.2 with Adobe Flash Full.

do you need root to play megavideo?

is there a way to get the desire browser (flash), on another rom

I am on cyanogen 5.0.5.3(however its spelled) and love it. Tried the desire rom but had bugs but I want the browser , so, has anyone found a way to get the browser to work on other roms?
If not, that would be cool.
Didn't know where to pit this thread, general or development so I chose general..
Thanks
I switched to Desire as my daily ROM the day I bought the phone. To be honest there are still problems with the Flash on the Desire ROM (Modaco) whether it's non-optimized or a beta, I don't know. Instead of voiding my warranty to flash ROMs, I might have waited until June when Flash is supposed to be released.
I know this doesn't answer your question but I thought some noobs might want to hold off
People tried to get this... but I guess there are too many dependencies... besides, flash lite sux... wait a bit... and enjoy the full powered flash 10.1 when it releases...
There is no way to port anything from the Desire ROM to another ROM.
Thanks guys.. so the desire isn't flash 10.1? It played a lot of flash sites that require more than just flashlight.. but yes it was a little buggy... Anyways thanks for your help guys..
Waiting for skyfire to release their browser for android or yea, real 10.1. Regardless I needed to root, I'm a phone dork and a non rooted n1 just doesn't feel like I'm too much of a phone dude...
I don't think it is flash lite, but someone may correct me. I've been able to load dailymotion and other embedded flash just fine when Flash Lite wouldn't. Whether those sites were suddenly optimized, I think probably not.
That said, the only site I have not been able to load properly on Desire is www.sonyericssonopen.com (the tennis site)

Even stock the N1 blows the doors off of other phones, and especially off my rooted G1.

HTC Flash Player

Hey guys, I just noticed something when going through all my installed apps- The Evo comes with HTC Flash Player preinstalled on 2.1... And it works! Flash support out of the box. Was I the only one that was totally in the dark about this?
How do you get it working?
It just.. works. Browse to a site with flash content, and it should load.
Newgrounds works especially well.
cross my fingers for HULU!!!!!!!
its not full flash its flash lite ^__^

same here, even some of the video bookmark websites for skyfire dont play
Yeah HTC Sense comes with Flash lite. That's the problem though. It sucks lol. Oh and anyone who wanted Hulu once FroYo is released, bad news. Hulu blocked the user agent string fix so FroYo users can't get Hulu anymore.

not true. there is a modified flash apk in the nexus forums. it works on hulu.
Has the FB video playing issue been fixed yet?

Evo + Froyo + Flash = ESPN3 = World Cup EVERYWHERE :)

Currently watching World Cup games through ESPN3.com on my Evo ...... SOOOOOOOO NICE.
Quality is much better than Sprint TV
You get to replay all the games and watch live ones
Full DVR controls with markers for each important part in the game
BTW, if Apple is still waiting for an example of Flash running well on a phone this is it.
have you tried other site
can you watch videos on fancast, online movie sites, or clicker,tv? what about dvix online videos?
Needs Froyo right? Just tried on Eclair and no go
damnn when are we going to be able to install froyo?
you can right now, there are two builds in the dev section, but niether are fully functioning
Can't you just install the flash plugin? I can watch several flash sites on my phone with 2.1
yeah i read somehting about the camera not working in one of them is there any clue when the official update will be?

Can you list a couple of those sites that you can watch? I tried Hulu.com and they don't support the Android platform and I went to Adobe for the plugin and they only support Nexus One on Google.
Too bad my ISP is not amongst ESPN3's affiliates, and besides, Nigeria lost to Greece this morning, so i'm in a foul mood already anyway !!!

You can actually watch it on univision.com using Skyfire from the market. No need for flash or froyo and the image quality is spectacular, even on 3G. It's in spanish, but who cares.

I did just try hulu and it does not work, some of the video's on justin.tv do.
ESPN3 does not

Do we know what ROM that is on?
I was skeptical at first... I never figured we could handle something like flash. This is a pretty big step if we can.

Stock Eris ROMs have flash, it's called HTC Flash. We just have the requirements that Adobe put out for 10.1
I have to wonder how many others are refreshing this page, wondering when a dev will say if this is useful lol.

My old Verizon HTC Touch played Hulu videos on Skyfire perfectly before Hulu blocked us from using it. Also, for some reason, it handled other flash sites better than my wife's Droid with 2.2 and 10.1.

HTC Flash is "Flash Lite" it's hardly full 10.1 flash.
video doesnt seem real, theres cuts in the video before and after he touches the screen
Im pretty sure it's real.. I think those "cuts" are just flash being somewhat laggy on his phone...
There is already a flash 10.1 for the eris flying around I have a copy on my computer i believe I'll post it when i get home.
EDIT:Here it is guys, but it only works on the stock browser, im guessing thats why it didn't catch much attention.

stock flash is still just flash lite with a diferent name i believe, this is a flash player that doesn't default to full screen, and has full functionality as if it were on your desktop(games, buttons, links, and such), only mini lolz

I think its full flash, I can play flash games on site and stuff without problems, only thing is that its a little slow and can only be used on stock browser on htc roms because it uses something that flash lite uses on the htc browser.

Regarding Adobe Flash..

So I was wondering, The x10 is flash compatible.. runs smoothly - even on High quality. Why does it get filtered from the Market? Is this just me? or is it physically Sony Ericsson just trying to prevent it from being installed?
After hearing about the GB2.3.3 update I plugged in my phone for an update and just rushed through it not reading that it was 2.1 and installed it, now I want to use Flash cause I don't see the point in sorting out a ROM/root even with the backup if It's just going to be updated again in an Apparent up coming days.. I will admit I am quite curious on the SE GB update But want to install flash on here in the mean time.. ;/
TL: DR
I bought x10 after x8, rooted asap.. installed custom rom.. searched market for flash. Installed it, flash content available. "Updated"/Installed stock using PCC searching android market for "Adobe Flash Player" Yields no results.. Why? ¬_¬
what rom did you install because Adobe Flash is only for 2.2+
thats probz why you cant find it on the market
Wow.. I knew this as well. I feel stupid -.-'
For some reason I thought I was on 2.2 because the "next" step is 2.3.. but Ah well, I blame Sony Ericsson? xD
haha i think all are making us wait for our beloved gingerbread, i can hear my X10 crying because its so hungry poor little guy
Argh! I know right According to thread here on XDA I should be getting it on Friday... Damn having to wait :/
Also, why would the "HDR" camera (Free APP) Be not available for S/E? When I was on a custom ROM I installed the APP but it said it couldn't access certain features needed, I assumed this was because of the Custom ROM?

With a 2.2 rom, video works even better when you add adobe air to the adobe flash 10 too.

Wow, I didn't know that :O
What sort Adobe Air things can the x10 run? I hadn't really looked into air for the x10 as I was happy with having flash xD
