I read on here when the incredible was first released about a way to change some settings to get better signal. I can't seem to find the thread again so if someone could link me or tell me how to I would appreciate it. I know it began with dialing # and then some numbers but can't seem to remember the rest.

*#*#4636#*#*
Phone info
Change cdma to gsm or cdma/gsm auto. Does not always stick after rebooting.

I think it might be the other way around with the * and #.
At least for my DINC --> *#*#4636#*#*
Where do you enter this.

Like dialing a number

I tried but says it has been disconnected.
You don't need to hit call.
Menu should pop up, if not make sure you typed it in right.

Another way to access this is to download the Network app from the Market place and never have to worry about remembering/dialing those numbers & characters
Just search for "Network" in the market place and download it
Hope this helps

So i doubt this helps any, or if its already on here some place, but i just left the verizon store. After some shmoozing i was able to extract that # #program loads up the eptm? Menu for the droid x. Default password 000000 as usually. Now here's my question, on old phones i was able to make it look like my tethering was phone usage, any way to do that now? Haven't got a chance to play with the menu yet as i'm walking back from the VZN store. Also, reason i was there in the first place the new "update" crapped out my phone kept restarting an fcing freezing...

I am not sure if people are aware of how to look at the device information when the dialer app is not available. On CDMA devices, you go into the memo app search function and do the ## commands. I believe they have to be the numeric equivalent so like ##DEBUG# would be ##33284#
What would be the benefit of this please? Thanks for the help!

From what I have seen, you can actually reset the device from there.
Gotcha...thanks, was just curious is all. Be great if we can figure out how to dial out...hopefully soon someone could be crazy enough to tackle it. Thanks again!

Dumb question ...how do I access the "memo" app? Is there a certain place I should be looking? Sorry...
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Supposed to be under the Applications...check for Memo or Notepad. You put the codes in the search field. I don't have my tab yet so I can't say exactly. The reset would be ##786#.
I know that *#*#4636#*#* works for some general info on the phone, but what I would really like to do is recalibrate my touch screen. Anyway I can do that? Also, I think it would be a good idea to start gathering the list of the codes for the Evo Shift 4G. Anyone know of any other working codes?

##3282# to reset your data profile. Useful if your seeing very slow data speeds. My internet was crawling at a 150kb/s when I got the phone and now runs over 1mb/s after I did the reset.
Pick edit mode and type in your msl. Then pick data profile, push menu and hit restore.

Forgive me if this is different than what you're looking for but can't you recalibrate the screen under Menu>Language and Keyboard>Touch Input>Text Input>Calibration Tool?
#3: I didn't *think* that was what I was looking for, earlier today, but after trying it anyway, it really seems to have fine tuned the whole screen! I stumbled on to it this morning and tried it, I'm sure others will want to find a fix, someday. Thanks for posting!
#2: how does one obtain their MSL? On Windows Mobile I had a handy MSL Grabber. Is there a good one in the market?

I used MSL Reader from the market. You need root so I used z4root to get access.
Bbong73, thanks for the tips!

Call Sprint and tell them you want it. Sometimes they'll ask why, but I have never been denied. I always tell them the truth. I like to reset and adjust things all the time. It has never failed.
Called Sprint today and asked. They said " No problem sir hold on....here is your MSL"
Thanks for the tip. Glad to know it's that easy!

With the Gingerbread firmware update, this option is either missing or moved. Can anyone locate it, now?

In Supreme Sense and MikShifted-G its in menu*settings*display to calibrate the screen and to calibrate the keyboard its in menu*settings*language and keyboard*touch input*calibration tools....maybe if your just stock rooted you could de odexed the settings.apk from a rom that has this setting and push it to system/app then reboot and it could work

I have a desire z with cyanogenmod rom. while roaming in other countries, i try to register with certain networks to get unlimited data, but this error always occur and the phone just reg me with whatever network is strongest.
I flashed back to stock rom and this error is gone so i guess its cyanogens issue. anyone has a solution to help?
