Proximity sensor issue post root. - XPERIA X10 General

I hope I am posting in the correct area, sorry in advance if not.
I have a small problem, the proximity sensor is not functioning during calls, I have confirmed that it is still functioning via the debug menu ( by pressing back, menu, back, back, menu, back, menu, menu, back from the lock screen). So I was wondering if there was a fix available.
I have searched for answer and I hope I haven't skipped over something in forums

It would be nice for the screen to shut off like it used to, saves a lot of battery if screen is off during calls

if you set auto kill the application when screen off, it will kill the sensor functioning during calls.
sorry if my English is not perfect, I'm not a native.

My proximity sensor never worked before root, and still doesn't work after rooting. But it does work in the service test menu. I think it is related to the Dialer software.

What do I need to set as not autokill. Can u name the app please?

Screen black (except notifications) if call lands when screen is off.

Has anyone noticed wonking on stock gingerbread? I have GR140. Since this morning I notice that when call arrives on phone screen off, screen doesn't come back on properly.
Only notification area is displayed. Rest of screen is black. Workaround is to press power key twice.
Yes, I am having the same issue. The work around for me(Since my power button is broken) is sliding on right to left approximately where "Slide to Answer" bar should have been and sometimes I am successfully able to receive the call.
Nope, I don't have this problem.
I keep having the same problem every since the new firmware came through. I haven't tried the power-button twice workaround.
Yep.. I'm having this problem as well.. very annoying.. Any one find a fix?
A fix for this will be shortly released by Google. Its a known issue.

I've had it a few times, normally, just rotating the phone causes the screen to re-appear.

Check to see if your sensors are working the way it should by moving your hands over it.
Dial *#0*# and press sensor.
A very big thanks
Dear animated
I am so proud for being the person to be giving you you're first thanks.
I did not know about the *#0*# phone test.
Its truly amazing. Anybody who has not tried it must try it.
Yes all sensors are working.
And my problem still persists.
There's a list of hardware codes
You can find it on galaxy note forum

[I9505G] Screen turns off when making a call

When I make a call and don't hold a phone near the ear the screen still turns off.
This started to happen 1 months after I bought the phone. Before it was working fine, which means if I don't hold the phone near the ear the display doesn't fade, and if I do, it does fade.
Im running unrooted stock 4.3 latest android.
Is there anyway to fix this problem?

I did wipe out cache, that didn't help. I don't want to do a hard reset, as its annoying to restore the environment and settings back.
I don't use any software that tampers the sensors. Also I'm on a stock I9505G android 4.3.
Any other ideas, please ?

Nope, I don't have screen protector.
Also, when I make calls I just hold phone in front of me and so nothing covers the proximity sensor.

Disabling proximity sensor during phone calls

Is there a way I can disable or manually set the proximity sensor easily? It has quit functioning and as a result my screen is black during phone calls. It would be nice to use a number pad every once in awhile...
Thanks!
Edit: please reply in other thread if you know an answer. It was here first!

Disable proximity sensor?

Hey guys,
everytime I use the skype app with my headphone the proximity sensor turns the screen black, when I cover it accidentally.
Is there any way, to turn the sensor off? I also don't need it in the dialer app.
I'm using cm12, so the modified skype app with the future, to turn off the proximity sensor doesn't work. x.x
I hope someone have a solution.^^
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Btw. Tasker does have this option, but it only works on 4.2 and bellow...

I don't know about disabling it altogether, but you might be able to adjust its' thresholds enough to fit your needs. I don't know exactly where the files controlling that are, but they'll be somewhere in framework. In framework-res/res/values/integers there's "config_proximityCheckTimeout" that's set to a quarter of a second by default...maybe start with that?
