Gyroscope? - Galaxy S I9000 General

Compared to the iphone 4, what's the difference or is it the same?
I've read the iphone 4 has 3-axis. galaxy S has 6-axis?
Just confirming some specs....
thanks!

hi
in test-mode the phone displays three axis X Y and X (accelerometer)
and magnetic sensor X, Y, X, Azimuth, Pitch and roll

Gyroscope .. ?

The new Galaxy S's all have gyroscope .. fascinate has flash , epic has QWERTY
screw all that .. i would've wished an epic but well it's CDMA and i need a GSM version .. oh well .. Galaxy S it is
but i was wondering .. does the original Galaxy S has that gyroscope ?
. .
"When you add in the 6 axis tilt control (gyroscope), the Galaxy S takes gaming to a whole new level. Now, let’s just hope we get some more compelling games on the Android Market."
that bla bla was on the link in the beginning of the thread .. so i believe all of the US S's have it
proof that Epic have it : http://www.androidcentral.com/gaming-sprint-epic-4g
now does the GSM version have it ?
Anyone? Does the original Galaxy S that is available in Asia have a gyroscope/six-axis accelerometer built in?
The EU and Asian Galaxy S doesn't seem to have a gyroscope. Its got a Bosch Sensortec SMB380 tri-axial accelerometer.

Isn't that the same as a Gyroscope (like the one in iPhone 4)? Because gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_4-3275.php says the following about the iPhone 4:
- Scratch-resistant surface
- Multi-touch input method
- Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate
- Three-axis gyro sensor
- Proximity sensor for auto turn-off

So does the tri-axial accelerometer in the Galaxy S function in the same way as the one in iPhone 4 or not?
some phones say gyroscope but really use the compass in addition to the accerlerometer to get the extra axis.. not sure which we have here.. dont always trust advertisement.s

No gyro. and acc. are two different devices. One measures angles while the other measure acceleration in different axis.
as I know the accerlerometer in iphone 3GS can only perceive 2-axis (X, Y). The gyroscope added to iphone 4 make it 3-axis (X,Y,Z); it's equal to SGS's accerlerometer which can perceive 3-axis.
In my opinion, our SGS's accerlerometer will function equally to iphone 4's accerlerometer + gyros
iPhone4 has a 3-axis Accelerometer and 3-axis Gyro (STM L3G4200D) for precise 6-x axis movement.
SGS has only 3-axis Accelerometer as I know.
Without a Gyro you can read angle movements by a 3-axis magnetometer(compass) but with much less precision.

It seems that the i9000 has an accelerometer as well as a geo-magnetic 3 axis sensor.
Basically, every version of the galaxy S, including asian/euro ones, have 6 axis sensing capbilities

Really?
Sent from Moto X
I should add that all images were downsized to 5 MP to match the Moto G.
This is all old technology by now, and your milage will vary, but my general observations are as follows:
The Moto G has a pretty decent imaging processor. It's lens is rubbish, with lots of purple fringing and chromatic aberration, but it seemed to be consistently mediocre. Motorola seemed to attempt to make up for a lot of it's shortcomings by pumping up the saturation.
The Moto X has much better glass, but it's white balance shifted quite a bit, and seemed to favor the cooler spectrum of colors. It also seemed to underexpose images slightly, and was a bit on the low side when it came to saturation. At least for my taste. I couldn't help but feel that the hardware had much more potential than what the software offered.
The Galaxy S4 has excellent glass (lens), but it's camera software seemed to be very inconsistent - At least the T-Mobile variant. It handled white balancing the best, but seemed to overexpose images slightly, with an inconsistent saturation level.
All three phones seemed to have sloppy camera software, with hardware ranging from decent to excellent.
Great sharing photo's .. just happens how it's possible ?

Sounds a little defensive there. Take another look and you'll see that the Moto X did best in low lighting, and retained more dynamic latitude detail than the S4. Aside from that, it's always interesting to compare devices and their abilities.

I am just talking about your moto x photo's capability..
I have pretty much at least one of every phone ever made in the last 3 years, and I love the Moto X camera. my wife has an S4, I have an S5. While both have higher resolution the Moto X seems to be a much more stable sensor. Specifically, its much more forgiving of motion, low light, etc. The Galaxy phones seem to work best when its posed like a portrait.

[Q] Moto X Style vs Nexus 6

Hello all,
Would the Moto X Style be a good upgrade from my current Motorola Nexus 6, or would it be pretty much a wash?
Much thanks.
I had a Nexus 6 (dropped it, screen shattered) and got x style now. I'd say keep the Nexus. Dev community is much bigger. Screen too . Of course the style/pure is a nice device, and dev activity is picking up. It fits better in the pants too
Thanks, I'll stick with the Nexus for a while
In my oppinion amoled colors are too punchy and white is too cold.
Moto X is a little bit faster when opening apps. Tested side by side.
only if you need better camera

How bright is X Pure as a flashlight compared to...?

Hi,
I'm deciding on which phone to buy and X pure is a good contender.
I am always using my phone as a flashlight and need a phone with a bright or at least descent flashlight.
Does anyone here have a X pure and anyone one of these other phones:
G5, G4, G3, 5X, S7, M5 and can tell me compared to X Pure which one is brighter?

Moto X style cardboard. Does it have gyroscope?

Hello
I have a little question about Moto X style. I will buy this phone soon, but i need gyroscope for cardoard VR. Can you check for me whether it has gyro and if it works well with google cardboard apps?
Thank you in advance.
Moto X works fine with Cardboard, it has a InvenSense ICM20645 Gyroscope sensor.
