HTC Hero

Does anybody here have a stable HTC Hero ROM. I need it so that it doesn't reload everytime I pree the home key. And can someone send me a link to partitioning my SDCard?

He means that you need to SEARCH. There are directions on multiple threads on how to partition your SD card, how to root, how to flash radio, SPL, ROM, etc. There are also a few on the entire process on setting up a rooted phone and flashing a Hero ROM. Start looking around and don't ask any more questions till you've searched using various word combinations. I can promise the information is already there and all you're doing is cluttering up our forums with more pointless threads with questions that have already been asked.

Hero is getting better but it will never run the same as the Hero itself. Reason being, the Hero has 288mb of RAM, the Dream as 192mb, only 2/3. The ROMs are stable, just very slow.

Can you send me a link to a good ROM without Partitioning That won't reload everytime I hit the home button??

i used search and i can't find anything without partitioning!

What part of hero requires a swap partition, which is listed in the first post of every hero rom, don't you understand.

YOU HAVE TO PARTITION YOUR SD WITH A LINUX-SWAP FOR ANY HERO ROM!!!. If you don't it will always be slow and will reload when you press home, there is no way around it whatsoever and never will be. Now learn to search.

Wow seriously. Do you really need to be spoon fed? All the info you need is everywhere, EVERYWHERE. Read the stickies. They are there for a reason. But I'll help you out here cause I don't have to do any extra work, look in my sig for a tut on how to partition your sd card.

Time to bring back an old Thread... hahaha reading this brings back many memories. Good times!

DO NOT INSTALL THIS UPDATE IF YOU NEED ROOT IN A FUTURE!

I am one of those crazy ones who does not care about root. I did it once, and removed it. Call me crazy.

PS what I mean, most people on this board would know this, and will have read your other posts about the subject.
On top, I am sure some genius will hack this one also and we can root it. It will just take a while longer.

Oh I tell you, I was crazy once... didn't care about the root. Just wanted Android 2.1. I wanted it now. But then, in a moment of enlightenment, I listened to shadow_fi. And when HTC announced that there will be no further updates past 2.1 to Hero (at least CDMA, but I guess it applies to every other Hero), it was obvious that we shall not go down that evil OTA path... and so I flashed VillainROM 10.3.2 and hence my Hero will live happily ever after.

Just spoke with HTC Support and they said Orange and 3 OTA is delayed but by how much they would not say

That is becoming less and less likely with more people moving to other devices, if you flash this 2.1 chances are you will never be able to try new things like a froyo release

There is already a thread ** Official 2.1 UK UPDATE Thread ** .
Keep posts in the same area regards to this update then everyone can find it.

Jtag interface is what I've been expecting, no sneak peak needed, we know what root will yield, so, lock this thread

We used the smart card & s58 file to disable the chip,not the Jtag interface.

Why would you post this in one thread:

sorry, thought this trhead was started by, a newbie, coming off a fresh upwrapiing and a quick google search of newly arrived G2. The 1 post history and screen name through me off, it is great work. Just a big fan and practioner of Jtag and its warm goodness.

Although I agree the bootup animation is from older versions of Android, It's clearly 2.x+ as shown at 1:20 by the lwp, phone app instead of dialer, and a few other apps in the drawer.

SO, we have a slew of new releases here... WOW.
Another happy week for us OCRF's (Obsessive Compulsive ROM Flashers - like myself for one).
Though I really dont have an idea why I really flash a new firmware when I am perfectly happy to show off the one that I already have to those retards that still are on UNROOTED PREHISTORIC default ROMS that they received from Samsung.

I suffer from OCRF. I went back to JM9 Doc's Mod to get some decent browsing performance and overall smoothness, and I told myself I would stick with it for a whole week. But now we have these new releases today and I don't know what to do! I'm going to try to stick to once a week flashing to save my NAND and my sanity =P

If im correct they stop suport in 2.1, why do you think they will give us 4.4?

But it is true that HTC won't do anything more for the Legend (which is normal regarding its age).

I don't think HTC legend can support KitKat. Will take ages to boot up.
