[SOLVED] Oboe FM radio - Windows Mobile

Grrr I can't make it work.
It starts, scans fm, find channels but no sound.
Somestimes it freezes or slowsdown the system.
I'm using oemdriver 3.04 and packages 3.04 for my HD2 rom.
Anyone has and idea what could cause this?
Big thanks for your answer.

No one has an idea?

Same is happening with the original HD2 FM radio with 3.04 oem....
switched back to 2.13 oem and radio works fine again

Thanks guys, I'm going to give the wavedev a try.

I tried wavedev.dll, FmRadioSdk.dll and HTCFM.dll from 2.13 without any luck.

u might need 2.14 oem as well...

Allright didn't work for me as well swopping wavedev.dll.
I've tried the fm radio files from 2.14 on 3.04 but no joy.
Tried the 2.14 base but also no joy.
The FM Radio starts ok it even finds stations but there's no sound.
A dependency check on the FM radio.exe won't tell you much neither.
Also the FM radio files in oemdrivers.
They are depended on aygshell, Core.dll and HTCAfe.dll
FmRadioSdk.dll
HTCFM.dll
TEFMidiParser.dll1
TEFMidiParser.mif

Does OBOE has a different chipset than Leo?
I never had Qlin FM player work in TP2, I know they are different chipset.

Don't know if the chipset is different but I had the FM radio work myself.
Only atm it stopped working,it searches the band and even find channels only there's no sound.
I've tried to change packages like Dshow, Volume controle, HTC Audiomanager etc but no joy yet.

strange... guess i was lucky then. all i did was i took 2.14 as base so all oem packages just to make my rom tmous compatible, except for oem _lang, this one i took from 3.01. Took only the wavedev.dll from 2.13 and replaced the 2.14.... whoila... nothing more and still working as we speak... you can try my rom to see. that's all help i can give...

@Kurniawan77,
Yeah strange it's but like I said I had it working as well only now it stopped.
Thanks for your help and I will play around with your suggestions.

@Leo: Does an older FM Radio EXT work for you with 3.04 OEM?
FM_Radio_2_5_19194027_01 works for me with 2.13 OEM, but not with 3.04.

For me neither, none of the FM radio's work on 3.04 base.

[Radio] Roms working with new radio [2.09][Download]

I thought i would start this thread, since its kind of like a jungle to figure out what roms works on the new 2.09.51.03 radio.. So i hope that developers would post in here whether their rom works on it or not..
Symptoms of non working rom:
Unable to make calls and recieve calls
Poor sound quality
Poor audio
Roms that are working will be listed here:
Artemis - Go here
ROMeOS4 - Go here
Kumar's Leo Premium - Go here
CleanEx ROM - Go here
OzROM - Go here
WWE UltimatePOWER - Go here
kwbrs Topix - Go here
Radios
New radio: 2.09.51.03_2

Download 2
Artemis 7.0 works : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612580
Mine works (see my sig)
ROMeOS4 v4.05a
The OzROMs do, as they are base 1.72
Isn't that the distinguishing feature, simply that no 2.10 TMOUS ROMs are compatible with this Radio, since it is not a TMOUS Radio?
Nahh no rom with 576mb works, artemis v7 is 2.10 and works great with radio 2.09.

mine does (1.72 based)
Would be nice if an admin would make this thread a sticky.. Really hard to figure out what rom to choose, when there are so many to choose from.. And in my experience, the 2.09 radio is the best made, for battery, reception etc..
Mine works fantastic with Radio 2.09.
Duttys Leo Sense 2.5 HG V1.6 not working....
Im using the latest evo 1.4 rom from Xannytech and this radio is working just fine but the first time it wont boot,i take off the battery and reset, its working fine now, when i restart the device its not working anymore again....so not compatible!
Works fine on Eugenia 1.1.
@ionhide:
to make this post worth a sticky you should update your first post with every rom posted on this thread.

Oh yes of course - Will start working on it immediately!
EnergyROM working
The latest EnergyROM releases are working fine with the 2.09 radio.
I don't think it is necessary for a sticky but it could serve as a information post. The only think to remember is to look at what base build the ROM is built on before flashing. If your not sure PM the cook.
It is very simple any TMOUS base roms this radio will not work. If the ROM's are based on 1.48, 1.66, or 1.72 this radio will work.
I just updated 1st post - Will be updating later with more information..

For me, the EnergyROM does not work with the 2.09 radio. I tested with 23549 MaxManila, and 23541 MaxManila before, none working. The phone can bootup fine, but you cannot make any phone call. No sound when call, and lockup after call hungup.

I'm not sure but he maybe using some drivers from the 2.10 in his ROM. If you try the 2.08.50.08 radio and it works then this is most certainly the case.

[SOLVED] FM Radio on HD2 with 3.04 base

I can't get any FM radio running on a rom with 3.04 base. The app will start, scan for stations then either crash or freeze.
Switching to 2.13 OEM with exactly the same EXT packages makes it all work.
Tried HTCFM.dll and FmRadioSdk.dll from 2.13 without luck.
Same happens with 3.02 base. FM radio just crashes.
(btw. I did use 2.13 nk.exe in all tests)
same problem !
I suppose problem is hiding in SPL, at the moment only 2.08HSPL is available, so maybe there are some changes that makes impossible to use FM-Radio drivers from 3.04 rom with SPL 2.08 ...
No one has an idea?
I suposed you did see this thread and want to have it working on 3.04 right?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720937
Anyway, if you use 2.14 as base oemdrivers and swop wavedev.dll with the one in 2.13 the FM radio works.

Yes, 2.13 and 2.14 work fine. Just can't get it running on 3.04.
I have tried many ways to this problem...Maybe I found that, when 576MB RAM works, the fm radio can not work.(the same with you,2.14,2.10,2.13nk).But when RAM change to 448MB,the fm radio can work.(such as 1.73nk).
May someone solve this problem!

Thats great news.
The thing thats giving me headaches is that the CleanEx roms and the Waterbearv4 by Fab985 use 3.04 as base with 576MB ram enabled.
Just curious what one would need to do to make it happen.

Hello.
The solution is to replace OemExtDll.dll and OEM_Misc.dll from 2.13 or 2.14 Driver folder.
I allways replace and the two touch dll's with 3.4 base.
I upload it for you is untouched files from 2.13 rom if you bored to dumpit.

LEO/HD2 3.04 2.14 mixed Drivers still have problem

After reading the post that transplanting 2.14 nk,2.14 OEM_Misc.dll to 3.04 can solve the problem of FM-radio. But I find another problem that the WIFI MAC address change to xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. Absolutely it's fake, and in some conditions it may do some trouble. So I want to know if there's some ways to solve this problem.
I have solved this problem by myself....
just replace the proper version of bcmsddhd.dll
Thanks xda-developers...

I would like to know this too. Thanks!
to fix wifi if you cook a non-asian rom:
take bcmsddhd.dll from a non-asian rom (for example 2.13.531.1 - NOT2.14 because it's asian).
to fix the fm-radio issue in the 3.xx-base you should be able to use the 2.14 asian files.
Thx , i didn't find for FM radio bug in my cook , now it's ok . Thx, Thx , Thx
Use 3.14 drivers as they are. and no need to mix anything.

i think ur referring to Tmo-US leo rom 3.14 drivers..
the 3.14 drivers from original htc rom have issues when used with nk.exe from tmo-US rom (and you'd wanna use tht nk.exe to get rid of the low ram issue)
Only the nk.exe needs to be swopped to fix memory, oemdrivers work fine just as they come.
No problems with the FM radio, nothing needs to be fixed.

@lauretius26 is right. There absolutely no issues at all...
@Laurentius26 and c_shekhar:
i haven't tested but i guess you guys are right.. the only explanation going through my mind is that the 2.13/2.14 nk's from tmo-us were not compatible with the 3.14/3.04/3.02 oemdrivers from Leo S roms, but since there was a 3.14 tmo-us update (meaning a 3.14 nk) it now is compatible with those oemdrivers i guess

[Solved] HD2/Leo (TMOUS) OEM base

Hi Folks,
I recently got my HD2 and started cooking roms for it.
Now i know i need a x.x.x.x.50 radio to unlock the 576mb and a oem base that supports it.
My question is what base do you guys use?
I tried the 3.04 and the 2.10 oemdrivers and noticed that the 3.04 has a bit more free ram on the first boot.
Also the 2.10 is showing some weird behaviour. For example when i get a incoming call and i press the volume down to mute the ringtone it starts making a dailtone sound which seems to stick untill i soft reset
What do you folks reckon?
Did you already read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=692379
i did and i patched the 576 mb without any other problem.

Thanks for the tip mate
Ive now created a 1.66 oemxip with a 2.14 nk.exe and im using the 3.04 oemdrivers.
The topic also mentions replacing ddi.dll, but since 3.04 doesnt have that onscreen branding like 3.02 has. i figured i dont have to replace that one.
Now im wondering if its tmous compatible. Ive seen some Leo ROM-topics mention its tmous compatible.
Does that mean it has the 576 unlocked or do i need to use the tmous roms oemdrivers to make it compatible?
Mike te 13.4 for the touch hd do it kom or dont please give an answer

That indeed makes it tmous compatible.
But ive noticed some slowing down using the 2.10 stuff instead of the 3.04 base i was on.
Guess since im only cooking dutch and there are no dutch tmous phones im good with releasing a 3.04 based rom
