Has anyone figured out a way to import lock screens so that they are stock and not worked around by some program?
Lockbot is good and all but I can hit my home key to exit it for gosh sakes. =/
Sorry, but the only way to change the lockscreen is either change roms, or on donut flash stereicson's modified lockscreen.

unlock the screen is straight forward, how to lock it is the question! anybody can help?
A quick press on the power button will do the trick!
haha...tt's simple...tx a million!
Yeah! No problem!
Don't want to create a whole new thread for this as its probably a simple answer, but is there a way to lock the screen with numbers or something similar to the Sense UI? I just ask as I haven't seen any security on the lock screen so anyone can get in? There must be a way to lock it so only you can open it?

Well yeah. You can set a lock pattern that works in the same way. Kind of. It's in settings -> Security and at the top!
There seems to be a quite nice lockscreen app on the market - Lockbot Pro which costs $3.5! It has several lockscreen styles that
you can use and it includes the iphones as well. Quite amazing! But.. while most of the feedbacks are great but some say it breaks
the notification bar and lags when locking or does not lock at all(mostly on G1 and Droid.).
So if anyone here actually tried it on the Desire please tell me how it performs. very much appreciated!
I've tried the free version and its pretty good apart from one major issue.........the Home button is still active!!!
When the phone is locked the Home button will wake the phone up without a lock screen. Once this has been fixed then it will be well worth $3.50
I have the Lockbot Pro 1.3 on my HTC Desire and it works fine but you canĀ“t disable the home button ;(
I tried it, and here's my take:
Full lock replacement, lots of looks and plenty of themes. Choose your own background image. You can choose weither or not to have the notification bar on lockscreen, and if you do you can access it the same way as when you're in home.
The lag is there, but nothing major. Basically if you lock and unlock within half a sec, you'll notice the lag. As long as you lock, leave it, and unlock later (normal usage) there's no problem.
I don't think it shows album info, sms or even alarms on the lockscreen.... But I didn't really pay attention to this because:
My biggest issue is that its an app, not a lockscreen, so it gives you NO security at all. The main reason why i do not use lockbot is that I need a security pattern.
This one bypasses androids security lock, but has its own built in version which is ok. You can choose either code or pattern.
BUT the problem is that you can hit home and you bypass all security! Whats the point of security if you can bypass it??
Hit home and lock gone, security or not.
Also another issue is that security pattern delay app doesn't work. I want security to kick in after 30 min...
You can wake screen with all buttons, which is nice, but no exclude function. (I dont wanna wake it with volume buttons..)
If lockbot adds security delay timer and makes sure you cannot bypass it no matter what, and also adds an option to chose which buttons to wake screen with, it would be the best app out there.
ATM i think it stinks (reason: security), but thats just my 2 cents
newest
I just tried the newest version. I think they fixed the home button thing. But it's kinda hard choosing a background for it. (and it's not so smooth as the default lock)
Home button bug is finally fixed.
But it really sucks that I'm in a country where I can't dowload paid apps. Is there any other lib where I can BUY! it?
Anyone who knows if I would be able to download it if I would go to the Netherlands?

lockbot pro works very well
the only disadvantage is that its not locking on incoming call

second that! great app, but this is something that should be fixed!
anybody know how to reach the developer to check if this is planned or not?
Thx

I currently use WidgetLocker - it allows you to set different styled lockscreens (e.g. vanilla stock, vanilla rotary, etc) and even add widgets to the lockscreen.
Cool app imo
Not sure this is in the right forum since it's really a general WM question, but anyway...
I want to be able to view my today screen since it contains all my appointments etc even when the screen is locked.
I guess a transparent screen lock would solve the problem, but I havent found one yet.
Is there one?
Another solution would be something that kept the screen locked until I press the power button. Then it would be easy to unlock but still locked when it's not in use so I dont make calls etc without knowing it.
try s2u2 http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/s2u2-new-version-v2-30/ it will show your information on the lock screen

That's not good enough. I have everything specified just as I want it in my today screen and to find a custom lock screen that matches that is impossible to find. A transparent lock screen or a lock screen that gets unlocked automatically when I press the power button would solve it perfectly.
use the old (standart)lockscreen. like wm6.1
it is your homescreen with a unlock softbutton.
(i use wm6.1 and now i don't know why everybody is needing blown up lockscreens, when the old one was best )

How do I get the old style? If I show the lock object on the today screen it will still show the new 6.5 lock screen when I lock the phone.
i do not know how to get it back , but i know that it is possible.
i hope someone can show you the way.

Seems to work, thanks. Still interested in other soultions, but this will probably be fine otherwise.
or install Cookie Home Tab
it has customizable lockscreens, emphasis on multiple kinds of locks.
each has the ability to move the parts around like CHT always does. and you can make it fit your every need !

Does that requier HTC Sense? I'm using a clean rom without any HTC software, since I want to use the old today screen. This is very important since I use TodayAgenda.
Has anyone figured out where these default settings are located so we can get this stupid thing off of the dock bar?
lol tell me about it. Can't wait to get that damned thing off there. It will probably be doable but probably with a custom rom I'm guessing? Hopefully it can be done somehow for those that don't want to flash roms, etc. Good question though
I just wish I could find the file that sets that button. I've been tearing apart rosie and everything else that looks like its related and going through xml after xml. Just haven't found anything yet... Looks like all the standard sense stuff is there, it's just overridden by t-mobile's themes and their preset buttons.
I would love to see anything & everything relating to Faves removed from this phone.

ME TOO!
i changed the Genius button to short press = google search and long press = genius button.
now all i need is this freaking faves dock button.
its so USELESS!!
OK so I just got my D2 last week, and I have to admit its kind of a grows on ya thing. I also have an hd2 as my personal phone so im spoiled with the giant screen. D2 is much more responsive then my hd2 and dont get me started windows lame OS.
BUT....
Why is there no built in "home" key? when Im browsing there doesn't seem to be any way to get back to the desktop of my phone with out hitting the return button and exiting all applications.
Very annoying. And the whole bajillion apps running that can't be shut off. I bought an app that "freezes" them, so far so good. Why do I have to buy an app to open the cmd prompt?
and the searchsoft key. wtf nothing happens.
IS there any way I can hack and re-assign my keys to different functions?
I would like the search key (magnifying glass) to bring up google search any time i hit it, and my home key to always go back to the homescreen.
is this just me being a noob and cant git' r' done or is this a D2/android thing? THis is only my first week with the android operating system, I realy love it, really makes WM look like a pos. yeah and windows 7? it just ads more ghey to the old wm. stil sucks.
Any help would be nice thanks!
Are you using the stock ROM and launcher? or do you use launcher pro or ADW?
the home key should already be assigned to go back to the desktop as far as I know.
Hi yes I still have stock rom. Also my lockscreen doesn't work and when I push the keylock\power button it doesn't fully lock the screen as if I push the volume button the screen turns on. So im not sure what's up. Homekey as I said doesn't work anymore as well.isn't there someway to hack the phone to re assign keypad softkey function? Also none of these keys work on th KB as well. I still havnt upgraded to 2.3 yet. Seems like a hassle to unroot delete every thing and start over. Yes I have clockwork also TI backup pro
Any suggestions would be great

I don't use the stock launcher anymore. ADW and from what I hear LauncherPro both have preferences that change the home key assignment. I would upgrade to 2.3.20 though it's not a big of a hassle as you would think. I've sbf'd my phone twice and factory reseted everytime I upgrade a ROM. It doesn't take that long as long as you know what you are doing and you have backed up what you need. Google will remember your contacts and apps and settings if you tell it to. The only thing I have to setup are my non gmail email and a few apps that I have login info for. You don't have to unroot. You can just flash the new sbf and then re-root and you'll be updated (always flash with a full or near full battery) and I wouldn't be surprised if it fixed the problem. I've never heard of the soft key's not working on the stock ROM. They worked when I used it before we even had root.
The only way I can get my phone to wake with the volume button is to use "no lock" to turn of the lock screen. But if the lock screen is in place the only way to wake the phone is to press power and then use the sliders.
