this is happening to my legend and not sure whether you guys have it:
i've setup a task in the calendar and setup a reminder. when the time comes, the reminder sound/ringtone will trigger. the moment i touch/pickup the phone, the sound goes off. I've already turn off "quiet ring on pickup" in the settings.
this behaviour doesnt happen with phone ring though.
anyone has any solution to this problem?
Just try to hard reset it , and disable "quiet ring on pickup" again..
Good luck

Hello guys, I have a very very annoying problem: from time to time my Hermes starts ringing with the standard ringtone , I guess its called Windows Default something..... It is incredibly annoying. I guess you realize that I dont get any call, I dont have alarms scheduled, my pocket pc doesnt do any other strange thing. It just starts ringing (playing) that stupid song, over and over again, untill I turn it to Vibrate.
Check your notification queue.
Please be a little more specific.... What is the notification queue? I didnt mention it starts immmediately after a soft reset or a restart.
Use Check Notification
http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/cn_overview.html
To check if you have notifications that are weirdly scheduled (looks random to you, not attached to any reminder) that may be responsible for your random ringing, which may be trigger by the built in alarm (whch uses the same default ring tone)
Unbelievable.... I feel like smashing it to a wall... it really gets on my nerves.... Thank you man, I tried te program, but the reminder or whatever it is , its still there.
Hi.
Here's the situation: I'm using 3VO rom build 2.00.
My phone works as it should when in Vibrate mode. When I change it to Normal mode, the vibrate icon in the top bar is still present. When I get a call or a message, the phone is still vibrating and it doesn't ring. I've tried to reset profiles to default, I've tried changing the ring type of a certain profile (its set to Ring, I've changed it to Ring and vibrate and then back, same situation).
I've tried switching on the vibrate mode with a key (on my model this means tab/#/vibrate key), and the vibrating icon is still there.
When my profile is set to Normal, I get a sound when i send a SMS.
What else can I tell you? Oh, I've also tried a reboot, same situation.
It worked fine for a month with this new rom, now it's not working... And it bothers me sometimes because I cannot hear when someone calls me, it's just vibrating (same with the Outdoor or Automatic mode).
So can someone please advise? I've used search on the forum and google and couldn't find a similar description of the problem.
Thank you so much in advance!
change ringtone sound to something other than vibrate
the default ringtone i believe was vibrate. change the ringtone to something else in the sound settings. if not reflash the rom works well for most everyone else.
soclean, you are my saviour!
Indeed, I had to change the "Ring tone" setting under Start/Settings/Sounds (it was set to Vibrate).
Thank you man.
no problem. happy to hear i was a help and it wasnt something else wrong with the phone.
Today I experienced a strange issue with my Leo. The ring volume autosets itself to silent. I manually increase it to max (both ring and system) using the volume keys but immediately after exiting the volume control window it sets itself to silent. I tried to set it to vibrate only but - same thing, it goes to silent again. The sound icon in the taskbar shows normal volume (i.e. not silent). When I receive a call it does not ring nor it vibrates. Its silent. The device plays music and sounds normally. I believe there must be a registry key that somehow was changed but I'm not sure which program might have caused that.
I use Phonegate call filtering app and Iconsoft PhoneX but cannot find anything in their settings that would cause it. Also tried removing them - no effect. Soft reset - many times
HR may be?
are you sure it is setting to silent? it could be that the chosen ringtone doesn't exist anymore? Try changing to a different ringtone and back again.
Tried that but still with no success
hmm, could it be that you have an appointment set, and the phone set to go silent during appointments?
Stupid me! In the windows sounds and notification settings, Notifications tab I found that for the Incoming call event the ring type was mysteriously changed to NONE when it should be set to RING. I don't know how could this happen by itself... But thank you, samsamuel for your logical suggestions and sorry for posting before thoroughly check my device.
hehe no worries, it generally turns out to be something simple.
I'm having a problem with MP3 ringtones and I hope you guys can shed some light on this.
When I go to work, I set my phone on 'Silent' or 'Vibrate' - however, the second a phone call arrives, the phone starts ringing as though I'd never set it to 'Silent' or 'Vibrate'. It's completely reproducible - set to silent, call self, hear ringtone.
The issue goes away if I use an included ringtone like the T-Jingle - phone stays on 'Silent' or 'Vibrate' exactly as expected.
Is anyone else having this issue? No custom firmwares here, just the stock T-Mobile image.
Just got a factory replacement g2 and my ringer is acting really funny... Rings some of the time and even then, will only ring once before it quits ringing (even tho it still is showing that I can answer on my screen). Sometimes it doesn't ring at all. And no, I don't have silent or vibrate mode enabled lol. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
Found it... It was an experimental setting in my "Call Control" app that would "remove partial ring". Just fyi j case anyone else runs into this
