US has update to 2.10.7.15,it doesn't work any more by replacing the 2 files

i cant seus thinks my phones a different brand

Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general

do the debrand again using the brief guide I wrote here link
I'm on vodaphone and I got fedup of waiting for the update ..Debranding with the R1FA016 UK firmware solved the issue and gave me the new R2BA020 update OTA works fine on VODAPHONE
note if SEUS is playing up uninstall it and delete all the folders but you shouldnt really have to just delete the whole db folder and it will redownload the files
If it thinks you have a different phone you may need to uninstall completely remove the drivers etc and reinstall my guess is you maby tried using the flash batch files or tried rooting and messed something up in the device id reg entries

you remembered to rename the files didnt you to the same as the one it downloads?!
let it download the files once it hits that 100% downloaded remove the cable to stop the update
now rename the R1FA016 files to exactly the same name as the ones that have downloaded for it to work
read the original guide over at esato link and take a look at the image
once the files for the 016 have been renamed to the same name as the downloaded files you can copy them into the db folder and overwrite the ones in there and then resume the reflash/update it will see the files you renamed as the original files and proceed and flash them

Where do i find the RUU file that I have copy to sd card?

I am wishing to attempt a hspl on my T-Mob uk hd2, the procedeure requires me to copy the existing RUU file to my storage card in the eventuality that I need to restore it to it's original settings. Please explain where the hell I find this file?
What? I think your confused, check out my thread in my sig, use it to help you but at the start there are links to other useful threads on using it. Also I have a small glossary to help you.
the .exe file you downloaded is actually a zip file. so rename it .zip instead of .exe and now when you run it it will open to show you a list of files, one of which is ruu signed.nbh
oh and it isn't part of the flash.only if the flash goes wrong.
Thanks guys, I understand how to flash a rom but am unsure about backflashing my stock T-Mobile (UK) Rom is there one available?
There is deffinately a T Mo uk rom, ive seen it mentioned several times. Look hard in the Official Roms thread and you will find it.

Cannot replace nv_data.bin

Hello all,
first to all who will say I must read the forum for problem solving - I did but from all the info out there it was simply too much. So I decided to start a thread in the hope that somebody will be able to help me.
So I have a corrupted nv_data.bin in my /efs folder but I still have backup of this file. But only this file.... I know - totaly dumb... I installed new JPX and after trying to change the product code from KOR to MOT (Slovenia) I accidentaly deleted nv_data.bin. I of course tried to replace it thru Astro Mate (I did had rooted phone - Darky's 6.0 was working fine ) but everytime I tried copiing this file tt didn't copy actualy - It said copied but the old file remained there - I know this because the Productcode didn't change. So I deleted the file thinking that this will help and tried to copy again. To my bad luck it didn't. I tried to copy and everytime a new file was created instead. also renaming a bakup file in this folder was not succesfule - it said Fald to rename file nv_data.bak. Since then my SIM card is not recognized and when I check what Baseband version I have it it written Unknown. So I tried even with ADB Shell, use busybox and when I eneter cp /sdcard/nv_data.bin /efs it says Now enough free space??? So I don't know anymore what to do. Does somebody have an idea what I can try to solve this? Please please please? I will donate to the one who helps me saving my SGS.
Thanks,
Borut
Hi !
This is because the file is used by the system.
Safest method:
- Reboot into recovery (make sure you have root in recovery)
- do what do need to do in recovery
- Reboot in normal state
In recovery phone / baseband / RIL are not started.
so you mean when I boot in recovery i can copy the file using adb shell? Or how do you mean I can do what I must do?
I have done it before while the phone is on, but you have to enter flight mode, set the correct owner and rights and reboot afterwards.
Well, regarding ownership and stuff like that - I'm a tootal noob
Help please NV_Data.BIN
I know this isn't the place to post this but I have been trying since yesterday afternoon can't figure out where I should post it to I keep getting an error that due to spam I can't post to certain areas without having 10 posts.
Please help -
I am not sure what to do now. I changed the rom on my phone to put 2.2 on it a while back. I never saved any of the files because I was not aware to. Now I am trying to go back to stock already used the one click Odin program and I have the original stock firmware on it. But when I try to update via kies mini it will not show up. I have searched And found multiple postings related to the fact that the product id and imei could be incorrect and you would need the original nv_data.bin file. I have searched through windows explorer on the phone but can't seem to locate one. Is there any way that I can get a copy of the original folder for /efs/nv_data.bin and any other files that are needed?
I have the Samsung Captivate on AT&T currently running 2.1
BaseBand: I897UCJF6
Kernel Version: 2.6.29 [email protected] #2
Build number: ECLAIR
You need to check your IMEI matches your original .
You have stock rom stock as in not the network supplied firmware that came with the phone ..
Windows explore is no good you need something like root explorer .#
I can get a copy of the original folder for /efs/nv_data.bin and any other files that are needed? Not unless you saved them they are phone specific .
Worth doing a factory reset before you make any step as that may solve your problem .
jje
how do I check the original imei? I didn't backup the files as I was not advised to in the information I found online at the time (couple months back). I have done a factory reset via the phone (privacy settings) a couple times now and still when I plug into kies it tells me Unregistered device.
This is very simple to fix if you have nv_data.bak in the EFS folder.
If that file is present then you can safely delete nv_data.bin and reboot the phone.
A new nv_data.bin will be generated.
how do i know if I have nv_data.bak? where on the phone would I find it and how?

It should be in the efs folder (unless you've done something to delete it). As said by JJEgan, you will need root explorer. Navigate to it in the efs folder and copy it to the external sd card and then keep it safe somewhere.
how do I check the original imei?
Its on the box and or with the receipt .

how to extract ruu

How do you get the system folder out of an ruu?
Mainly /system/app
Uhh Ohhh!
Whislt trying to see if the ruu Would extract any files to my comp. I didnt realise my wildfire was plugged in! Will it be ok?
P.s it was a Wildfire S RUU!
It didnt change or edit anything!?
CM7 still!
Lol just imagine using a WF S ruu and ending up with Sense 2.1
Ontopic: Try using one of the "safe" RUUs found in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
They are flashable files so you can see if you can find anything useful in there.
Hi. Sorry for my english, but if U want extract rom files from RUU exe you must do this.
1. Start RUU exe to first screen, and leave it. Don't close.
2. Go to %TEMP folder (strat->run->%TEMP or samething like that %TEMP%???)
3. Search for file ROM.zip (iT schould be in one of those strange name folders, you can use search tool)
ROM.zip contains ale files to flash wf. Radio, hboot etc

It won't change anything. Even flashing an ruu of different region ends up with error. How can a different device ruu make changes to the wildfire.
And I think you are attempting to extract wildfire s apps and install it in wildfire . But it will not work. Those apps will be HTC only and device specific AFAIK. Otherwise I think we would have had great features.

Coming to the process of extracting system/apps from an ruu.
Donot connect the phone to pc. First click on the windows pc start and type "%temp%" without quotes and enter. This opens the user temporary folder. Now open the ruu and wait for a couple of minutes. Do not go with the process. Just keep the ruu window aside. Now if you see the temporary folder, there will be a couple of folders created which will have a lengthier name within the { } brackets. If you search in these folders you will find a Rom.zip file. Copy this Rom.zip file to a safe location.
The rom.zip contains the system.img and other img files. Now you should extract the contents of img files with a seperate tool called unyaffs. There is also an Android application in particular for doing that (yaffs expert). This is the thread to go for that process.

[q] .sin_file_set

Does anyone know how to use these files to flash an R800a? Or is there some kind of tool to convert them to an ftf? I recently used an online service (DivinciTeam) to flash my phone back to a Rogers 2.3.2 firmware, these are the files that were used. I'd like to do a bit more experimenting with my phone but would like a way to go back to the Rogers 2.3.2 firmware (to keep root) without having to pay for the service every time. I know there is a generic UK 2.3.2 firmware, but that didn't seem to work for me (phone was constantly roaming when used that firmware). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.
Use flashtool and do a bundle creation and it should make the ftf out of those files but I'm not 100% I've only ever done it a couple times with my x10
* if that is gonna be the Rogers 2.3.2 upload it to the dev section please and thank you!*

sin_file_set can be unzipped with 7-Zip. Inside you'll find standard .sin files.
I've tried using flashtool to package it into an ftf, it goes through the decrypting but I end up with no files.
I will give 7-zip a go to see if I can get the .sin files out of it.
Yes, it is the Rogers 2.3.2. I will upload it if I get it working (don't have enough posts to post in the dev section).
UPDATE: Tried 7-zip, didn't work. Gave an error about it not being an archive.

Strange. You should be able to open sin_file_set with 7-Zip, unless Davinc Team uses special encryption on sin_file_set - I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
I guess thats always a possibility.
Anyway to get it directly off the phone? It still on 2.3.2.
Ok, I've uploaded the .SIN_FILE_SET if anyone wants to see if they can create an ftf out of them.

I think the lollipop firmware is here
http://ir-file.com/portal/index.php?dir=Firmware/HTC/HTC_Android/A50ML_DTUL/
We shouldn't expect any lollipop firmware unless maybe we flash it.
My phone had lollipop out of the box but I flashed kitkat so that I could root it and modify it, but I found it to be too boring, I'm looking to revert to lollipop

Ok
So I downloaded the zip file sized about 1.8gb.
On extracting the zip file, I only get three files:
Android - info. txt - 92B
Userdata.img - 136034KB
Cache.img - 6972KB
I don't know where the other files have disappeared to

Yes I can delete them. I tried contacting them, they said it's an encrypted zip file couldn't be extracted. Don't know how it's going to be flashed
Here
Extracted
can you provide me the download link directly , i don't have to make an account ,,,,, whatever it is i will start porting sense 7 form desire820 lolipop , i will see if i can
but i need to make sure that htc has forgot about us
Deleted
So when I repaired the zip file with winrar, I was able to recover these files.
Scatter file shows HTC_A50ML which is the D820ys, it comes with Lollipop out of the box.
This zip file is encrypted, only if one could find a password to crack it, or if someone has the knowhow to extract this kind of files
d820ts
is this update available for d820ts???
