This was released in like... the first week of May
http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-releases-source-code-droid-incredible
More importantly, the EVO kernel source was released. This should make it easier to get AP mode working on the wifi, and give us true hotspot functionality.

I will try git
It's not there. And they won't release it.
Since when was HTC obligated to release kernel source if they didn't release the binary?
Well regardless I want to try making kernels how do you know the version of the kernel you downloaded ?
You don't understand. The aosp kernel source does not contain board support for the Dinc.

Has there been any progress making an kernels to overclock or undervolt a froyo kernel?
I think they need source, without it they can't do anything.
- Its just going to be Epic!

There will be no over/underclocked kernels made for our (leaked) Froyo atleast until the official Froyo gets released to us... As above stated, cuz then we'll have source... Unless Samsung releases the source code early...
Until the source code is released it wont be worth compiling a kernel it will have to many bugs when I jad the evo we some issues like the camera not going past 3 mega pixels but it is possible to do
Ignore this post it was sent accidently.

That'll be the day Don't hold your breathe thats for sure.
Hi, I am not sure how many of you used my kernels/ROM before (T-mobile MyTouch 4G, T-mobile G2x). My best friend has an ATT Moto Atrix4G and he wanted to overclock/undervolt his phone. Since Atrix and T-Mobile G2x are very similar, I have created a kernel that does exactly what he's looking for.
I DON'T HAVE Atrix myself (I am a die-hard T-Mobile fan), but I don't mind releasing a kernel for you guys.
Requirements for Beta Testers:
1. Must be on ATT and have Atrix 4G unlocked
2. Willing to install experimental kernels (MAY BRICK your phone, cause thermo nuclear meltdown, cause your cat to die etc...)
3. MUST follow me on twitter for updates
4. Able to give logcats / dmesg to pastebin.com
I have the base kernel compiled with the following enhancements added:
a) Overclock up to 1.2 GHz for stock voltage version and 1.4 GHz for under volted version
b) SLQB allocator for memory
c) BFQ I/O Scheduler
d) Overclocked AVP (system bus)
e) Tegra2 specific compiler optimizations
I will merge the separate Wifi module as part of the kernel build tonight (Major FAIL from Motorola, they are either lazy or making it difficult for open source by keeping WiFi source code as a separate build. Major pain in the ass).
I will beta test!

Could you post a bit more info, like is this 1.2.6 1.5.7 1.8.3, that sorta thing!
I'm down for some testing.
Also need to know which versions this would work on....1.26...1.57...1.83...2.3.4?

I'd love to test, and wouldn't this be better off in the Developement section?
1.2.6/1.5.7 are the same

Sorry, I am not familiar with the naming conventions for Moto.
It's definitely NOT 1.83 or GB 2.3.4. Moto has NOT released source 1.83, on their sourceforge, people have been threatening them with GPL since early June, but Moto has not complied yet. The ONLY available kernel source for ATT is 1.26 on their sourceforge. I am using 1.27 source from LATAM released on 6/25/2011, I will do a diff between ATT and LATAM to make sure they are compatible. I have my github all setup already, right now I have set my kernel source to "private" on github because I have NOT released it for public consumption yet I still need to merge the Moto FAIL separate wifi module into my kernel tree. Once I completed my merge, then I will "open source" my github and release version 0.0.1
From what I've seen and read, looks like Moto is NOT following GPL very closely, they are slacking off in terms of releasing their kernel source... We need more GPL guys to knock on their doors
PS: BTW, I am at work, so there's nothing I can do until tonight when I get home My goal is to merge the wifi module into my kernel tree and release a quick version 0.0.1 and have beta testers go at it.
i will do it

Motorola is not doing a lot of things properly, nice to have you on, welcome!
I'll test. Not worried about a cat, but I'm worried about my sugar glider!

1. 2.3 has not been officially released for the Epic. We only have binary leaks, no source code.
2. The CM 7 team is waiting for the official release of 2.3 because the GPL requires Samsung to release the source code then.
The CM7 team needs the source code for the customized Epic kernel & drivers. They may need other source code poeces too.
tl:dr No, since they still do not have the needed source code.

I am about to build a kernel for N8000. But my problem is I can not download from samsung open source site (Very Slow Connection).
Can someone please mirror the update7(MD1) for me on a fast server like dev-host, android file host, mediafire or etc...?
Here's the Samsung open source site:
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=search&searchValue=GT-N8000
Thanks in advance.
You may use my GitHub repository, which has a branch "merge-to-ss-jb" that is just the vanilla Samsung kernel, backed by the complete Linux tree.
Also, if you're interested in a complete, up-to-date tree (and what I'm running on my own GNote) you may browse my "kernel-forward" branch.

Thanks.
I have two questions if you don't mind.
1. Merge-to-ss-jb is the latest source (MD1)? Is it a good to go for a kernel to be based upon?
2. Is it alright with you that I base my kernel on your own kernel?
I appreciate it if you can help me with some kernel stuff as I am new to this.

Yeah, it's essentially the official Linux kernel source up to version 3.0.31, overlaid with a cleaned-up version of the 1st Samsung JB kernel release, then each subsequent Samsung Open-Source Release (latest is "#7") is overlaid on top of that. If you build the HEAD of that branch, you'll have a vanilla Samsung kernel as of XXMCD1.

Of course! The entire Linux kernel is built upon Public collaboration; we all share from each other. My kernel has a few selected bits here and there from diverse places like CyanogenMod, Francisco Franco, Xstacy, the upstream kernel, Qualcomm, NVidia ...
I used to post my built kernel up in the ROM threads I used to use on my GNote, but someone complained and I don't really feel like being bothered with my own thread (don't have time for the inevitable newbie SPAM) so until if/when I do go "public" with it, the "kernel-forward" branch on GitHub is the best place to get what I'm running now.

Heard that the published sources have different wi-fi drivers than preinstalled stock kernel.
This is the main reason of allshare cast not working with custom kernels (on the contrary, some s3 custom kernels DO SUPPORT allshare cast), even if status=official and flash counter=0.
Anyone can confirm?
Anyone has the proper ones or know which one (i.e. from a different samsung device) to use?
