How do I access keyboard settings? - XPERIA X10 General

Right now it's set to android keyboard, how I switch to standard keyboard? I'm asking because I can't find keyboard settings in the settings menu.
Thanks!

When keyboard is opend, hold on your screen on the symbol button. After ( about 2sec) you will get a option list. Voila, that's it

installed some input, they don't work

I installed a a few input, but apart from the original input I can not use any of them when typing. I press an hold input setting, no selection of those inputs.
I did tick the box of them inputs at Setting.
something wrong here?
Which keyboard did you install?
The same to me trying to use Better Keyboard. I gave up.
Did you try selecting Better Keyboard from the 'All programs' list and selecting 'Enable Better Keyboard First'?
It won't work unless you enable it first of all. Works perfectly on my Hero.

Yep, this is the procedure I've tried to follow many times. But when I go to the input method selection dialog (the gear button left to the space in the regular keyboard), Better Keyboard isn't there.
I know I'm wrong in some way, but I don't figure out where's the catch.
The way I activate it is to open a new text message or email and in a text input field, press and hold for a few seconds. You should then get an option called 'Select Input Method'. Select it and choose Better Keyboard from the returned list.

keyboard Woes

OK i HATE that this thing has no way to manually trigger the keyboard. Inevitably I find text entry forms everywhere that will not trigger it, OR WORSE..
IE the search function for this site, click it, the keyboard pops up, and the search options poof! On my DX i can manually bring up the KB, then click search, and it STAYS UP!!!
So anyhow, is there anyway conceivable to add a manual keyboard softkey, or notification button to this thing?

there is a way to have the keyboard button on your notifications:
Settings > Language & input > Keyboard Settings > Input Method Selector > Always Show
not sure why you are having the exact problem you are though, i haven't experienced it and ive been using the browser very heavily.
if you open the Xoom Android Development Forum,
then just above the right side you click the search button,
It does not open the search popup only to vanish when your keyboard appears?
This happens to me on multiple devices!!!
and that setting does not actually work
I have this issue on few sites as well, android seems to simply not recognize some text input boxes...even though I can place a cursor, there's non way to force-launch the keyboard, like long-pressing the menu button does on a lot of phones...
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App

Thos seems to do nothing for me
That setting will make the keyboard icon show up when the keyboard is triggered. It let's you switch between multiple keyboards on the fly (or voice input).
so any ideas for how to manualy use the keyboard ?

Aurora ICS haptic feedback keyboard problem.

I can't seem to disable it, it still vibrates whenever i press a letter on the keyboard. Everything else is disabled though.
Where is the option for haptic feedback for the keyboard?

Most keyboards have haptic feedback option in keyboard settings. At least stock and SwiftKey.
Go to language & input and untick vibrate on key press in settings next to the keyboard you are using.
