Sync Playlist on Mac - Galaxy S I9000 General

I am using a Macbook and had managed to sync playlists/songs/podcast to SGS after 2 weeks of seaching. Everything went a-ok but the music player in SGS was not able to recognise the playlist.... which has an extension .m3u. Any advise?

What did you end up using to sync your iTunes library?
I have a Macbook and iPhone but am going to be switching to the Galaxy S. I don't use Playlists on my iTunes.
How did you sync all your music to the phone?

salling media sync does a really nice job of syncing anything you have in iTunes to your GS, works on mac and pc. Double twist also does the job.

I use doubletwist, does a good job.

Does it sync playlists to Samsungs inbuilt player?

Media Panel doesn't recognise playlists...

I deleted all of my music and incidentally, the playlists from my storage card and set the X1 up for autosync with WMP11. The music and the playlists went into directories on my storage card called "Music" and "Playlists". The playlists appear in the multimedia player accessed from the spb panel but do not appear in the sony media panel! I found out that if you create a playlist through the Media Panel, these gointo the device itself under "My Documents/My Music and these are not compatible with the media player versions - great!
Anyone know of a fix for this as I dont want to recreate all of my playlists so that I can use them in the media panel!
Regards,
Alan
I just discovered the same thing. This is a annoying. I have set up several auto playlists in WMP11 and they sync just fine with my other MP3 (which I hoped that the X1 could replace, even bought 16Gb microSD card for this). Now I have to recreate these playlists again on the X1.
I had the same issue. Decided to go the apple way. Got all of my music and playlists setup on iTunes. Installed Pocket Tunes for the sync portion and it copied all of my music and itunes playlists to my SD card. So far, it's been very very stable, keeps in sync, the playlists are recognized by SE media panel and most other winmo media players because they're standard .m3u format.

I have been working on this all weekend. After syncing a small playlist it all seemed to work. Then I started to re-rate all 2000+ songs in my library (as WMP does not store the ratings in the MP3 tags, iTunes did not import those ratings) as I often use playlists based on ratings. I finally started to sync all my music and pocket tunes sync keeps crashing This is very annoying.
Does anyone have another solution to get your MP3 library synchronized on your Xperia with working playlists in the Media Panel?
P.S. I also tried S2P. It look great, but it keeps crashing as my library is over 8Gb.
What version of windows are you currently running? I'm on XP and my version of Pocket Tunes is 4.1.2045 . Another option is to get the free windows version of Salling Media Sync, it'll sync your iTunes library as well as playlists, but to get it to work you have to switch your USB to PC settings so that your phone works as a mass storage device and bypasses active sync.

I am using Vista Business 32 bit. I am currently testing Salling Media Sync right now. I had it first on ActiveX USB to PC setting, which gave problems. I just discovered that I have to switch it and am now testing it with the mass storage device setting. For me that would not be a problem, as I generally sync my Outlook and files either via Bluetooth or GPRS/HDSPA.
Here's something else I found, I may try it out tomorrow http://ita.sourceforge.net/ , it's called iTunes Agent.

I saw that one, but you can only synchronize ONE playlist with your device, not multiple playlists that will also be available as multiple playlists on the device itself.
I think your issue with all these sync programs is Vista compatibility. If you get a chance, try XP, if you can't, try running xp on a virtual machine within your Vista install.
Another thing you can try is, right click on your pocket tunes executable go to properties and do a "run as administrator" on it, also select the compatibility mode to Windows XP, hopefully, it won't crash the next time.

Salling Media Sync and Droid X! Works!

I've been trying to find an easy way to sync my Itunes library on a Windows 7 computer. I can use Isyncr and it works well, but only does music, no podcasts etc. It does do album art which is of course great!
I wanted to DoubleTwist but cannot for the life of me get it to work. So, option B, and I believe a much better option than both above is Salling Media Sync. After a whole lot of trial and error, I finally got it to recognize my Droid X and works great!
So, the key is very simple. Instead of setting the USB connection to mass storage as one would think, set it to "Windows Media Sync" and voila! It will sync your individual playlists, cover art, podcasts and photos!!! Seems to be working great as far as I can tell.
Please let me know if others find this to be working and if anyone has input on DoubleTwist and why it does not seem to work, feel free to add.
doubletwist is what i use. doubletwist can use any mass storage device, whats the hold up. does it not detect it or you just not sure how to sync it? just need to have it sync with your itunes then select what playlist or all music to sync

It does not recognize my device, actually it does not recognize any of my devices including my Iphone, Blackberry curve or Droid X. But, strangely, my wife's laptop does recognize all of them. So, it is something unique to my computer and I simply can not figure out what.
And, on another note Salling is not recognizing my Droid after the initial sync! UGH!! Its got to be my computer, but WHY!!!
Beta version adds Droid X support
The Droid X is not supported in the stable release.
Setup Salling Media Sync to use beta updates.
Update to beta.
Connect and set Droid X to USB Mass Storage Mode.
Voila.
I agree i have tried both double twist, isync and 1 more sync mate all have their shortcomings and you can waste a lot of time trying to figure them out . I found Salling Media Sync to work perfectly with my imac and HTC Desire perfectly

music sync problems

so everytime I try to sync using Motorola Media Sync, it syncs every song, even songs which are already on the phone. This is in contrast to my ipod, which only adds new ITunes songs or takes away deleted ones. Thats what I want my Atrix to do. I cannot wait forever for the phone to sync over 700 songs. How do I make this happen? I sync with Itunes. Also, sometimes it doesn't get songs, takes songs from the same album and put them into different albums or doesn't adhere to what I put in ITunes, help
Don't use iTunes but my kid does and isyncr works well for her. IIRC it cost a couple bucks AMD the WiFi sync add on was a buck. Not sure about how it works with an entire library but playlists sync added/removed songs easy enough for her.
Alternatively, you may try Google Music Beta, it is free during beta phase, it syncs all your musics from itune or Windows media player or specified folders into Google cloud service, then you have the choices to stream your musics thru 3G/wifi or make them offline for playback on your device. You can also play them on any browser anywhere, highly recommended to any Android users.

[Q] Any alternative sync software apart from Zune???

is there any alternative sync software for Windows Phone? Zune is too complex. I find it very difficult when using especially when i wanna sync my fav songs. it doesnt have any fast search feature, so u how to scroll endlessly through your music library. I cant even sync my itunes playlist to my phone.
Is there any other simple and easy to use software out there or anyway to sync my Windows phone with itunes music library. (because of itunes simplicity)

[Q] itunes

hey guys
is there an itunes like app for android devices?
i wish to keep all my devices (laptop, N10, htc) all synced up once a week
not really into cloud storage, and manually copying over files is ok for now, but really wish for a auto sync option..
AW: [Q] itunes
Google music?
I can also recommend doubletwist with airsync extension, wireless sync over WiFi. With an iTunes like desktop application
