i've used g-sensor calibration software in a custom ROM, after that i've run offcial Euro RUU(RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoD river.exe).
Finally, I use OTA method to update my phone to official euro android 2.1.
The question is, after i updated my phone, does the original g-sensor calibration record exist? or just restored to factory calibration setting?
THX in advanced.
PLEASE POST IN GENERAL or QnA NEXT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AFAIK it should be set back to default again, if not, I think it is in SETTINGS -> DISPLAY.
It doesn't exist in 2.1 anymore.

Gateway for the xv6800 phone with stock rom or upgraded MR1 rom..
This thread is to show my thanks and to help new ppl like myself

the easy install CAB for his app .. also like thank “gc14“ for writing
the tutorial ..
This Application aGPS aka GPS Server aka (Valhalla Legends GPSServer.cab)
Will allow your 100% stock rom or MR1 rom on your xv6800 Phone

without the need to unlock the phone or do anything to the phone other than
simply loading the GPSServer.cab file ..

I have personal testing this code on my xv6800 with stock ROM, then I
upgraded to the MR1 ROM from HTC for the xv6800 with WM 6.1 and
install the GPSServer.cab and it works perfect for both ROMs without
doing any unlocking or running anything else other then just the GPSServer.cab
BTW for anyone with the stock ROM running WM 6.0 and would like to
upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 .. you can download the MR1 ROM direly
from HTC
Again this is the, Verizon XV6800 ROM MR1

Thanks! It works very good with Google Maps
Is your WIFI works with WM6.1? After I installed MR1, my WIFI is not working anymore. I hope you might be able to help me.
TIA
to all that created this thank you, works flawless on the stock mr2 rom
can't get it to work..
Hi all! I followed this method a while back and had Google maps working great for quite some time! This past weekend I tried to use it with GPS and it couldn't find any satellites. I figured it was maybe too much cloud cover or other interference related to my location. Anyhow, yesterday I updated my XV6800 to MR2, installed the latest Google maps (3.0.0.12) and still cannot get it to find any satellites. after playing with the COM ports and location setting (currently COM4 and Loc ON) without success I installed GPS Toggle, which also cannot find any satellites.
Anyone have any suggestions to get this working again? Does this even work with MR2? I'd be happy to go back to MR1, though MR2 seems to be a little smoother and faster.
Thanks!

thanks drewcam888. I'll check it out this afternoon and let you know how I make out.
BTW, I was looking around my device and I found a different version of gpsapi.dll (hidden) in the Windows directory. I'm thinking this may be the problem. It won't let me modify it though, as it's a system file. I can view it using SKTools, but not modify it.
Can you recommend a file manager program that'll let me move / copy / replace system files?
Thanks!
You can't modify a rom file or one that is created by the rom itself. Or at least I don't know how
Hello,
I'm pretty new here and new to the XV6800. I have a rom version that I downloaded from htc site that under device info reads 3.57.605.1 I don't know what MR1 or MR2 is or is mine an MR3?? Also I have a Radio version of 3.37.75?? My question is can I install this to get GPS or AGPS working on my device? Do I have to install a different radio to get it working?
Thanks,
Chris

Read the thread for a while that drewcam8888 lists above "adapter program to ......" and then make sure you change the registry settings as it describes for Valhalla in the posts from the past couple of days. I believe I posted #627 which has the places to edit for Valhalla. Listen to what others say to make sure you have everything right.
mine failed around the same time but using a different set of cab files which had worked flawlessly on both previous installs of MR1 . Is this perhaps something from verizon?....Anyway having not installed from a wrar file before how do you install the valhalla cab when the redirects disconnect from the server?
I have a xv6800 and i got it last week, the person that i got it from updated the rom. a couple days ago i cleared the storage, which i guess is a hard reset, but i wanted to know if that resets my Rom
thanks
Tyve
resets to a fresh install of your current rom. It removes all none rom files.
so do i hav to re-hack the rom to use google maps?
i have no idea wut im doing,
thanks
Yes you do
dang, that sux. thanks a bunch
my ROM version is 3.57.605.2 does anyone know if that is hacked or not?
Not it is stock verizon MR2
ok, do u know an easy way to hack it, im only 14 and i suk at hacking it
Is this possible? And how?
Modaco has perfomed some great work but I'd be interested to know if the unfettled ROM cures any of the issues I have with my phone.
I'm relucatant to use the RUU as people say it overwrites the boot part of the Hero making it very difficult to apply future custom ROMs and root your device.
Thanks
I would also like to know this as well as whether its safe to fudge the download serial number process and use the RUU to upgrade my Orange branded Hero ?
Settings I can make a note of and set my self - APN's etc.

Very safe -- because it won't install
To be honest, it feels better to go for the Modaco update. I did it this morning and it was very simple -- much less scary than the same process on WM. Have a look at: http://android.modaco.com/content/h...m-is-here-2-versions-based-on-the-new-update/
I think you've misunderstood, or mayb I didn't explain myself properly.
I already have Modaco's 2.2 ROM but wondered if the official ROM will sort my MMS issues.
Surely HTC wouldn't release a ROM that failed to send or deliver MMS messages without having to manually disable mobile data, so i'm wondering if Modaco has unintentionally caused an issue with his changes.
Been reading this forum all night on how to update an X2. Whenever i run SEUS and try to update, i always end up at "You have the latest version" with no other option except Exit.

what software version and language region are you currently running????
If you try to upgrade to an SW-version that's not relesed, then you indeed have the latest software-version installed. But if you know that you should have an update available, then install the needed "language-faking-cab" from over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684323
I tweaked the language-cabs to fake that the phone has R1AA097 (i think this was the MR1-version.. Please correct me if i'm wrong!!) installed. This makes SEUS to upgrade to the most recent version.
Hi
I just checked Device Info:
Software ID 1235-3922
Software Ver R1BA014
Customization ID 1236-0080
Customization Ver R4A
Software Language English (US)
Sorry if the question is too newbie. Flashing the X1 and other HTC phones were easy for me. But this X2 seems to be so different.
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
Same problem....., any solution ? Already trying all possible things described there with no success.
still trying to understand the other threads here. been trying the language cab -> reset after calibrate -> force update option...
but still no force update option.
is there still no solution to this?
Hi,
I've just updated my Legend to the 2.03.403 version. So far i noticed that there's a new version of the quickoffice, improved performance and battery. Most Important multi-touch (pinch zoom)for Google maps!Has anybody figured out any new / additional feature beside what i mentioned ?
Without a garantueed method to root this update or a pre-rooted version I won't touch this even with a ten-foot pole.
Just convert your sdcard into goldcard. That's it. Launch the official RUU file...install it... and you're ready!
No, I was not talking about "How can I do this" but about the implications of that update.
There is no root-version of it for now, or is there?
The version is unrooted. Nothing will be rooted. You're using an original version with no changes... should be totally fine.
If you flash this to your rooted phone, you loose the rooting..
I didn't have rooted it. Just goldcard. And yes you loose the root.
this new firmare is out from today? WHere can I read my firmware version to check what version I have?
Settings - About phone - Software Information

No OTA for now, you have to flash this like a normal rom, but you might need a Goldcard.
So:
Create Goldcard (It's somewhere on this forum)
Put the Goldcard in your phone
Turn on the phone
Connect your phone to your pc
Run the RUU from your pc and follow the steps
It should flash the new rom, but remember that you'll loose root!
If you haven't rooted, there is no problem
One change I've noticed is that I can now use the map background from Terra Time - it would not work before.
Now that I have installed this update does it mean that I can no longer root my phone?
Another change - I can now open up the full youtube site when tethered instead of getting palmed off to the mobile site.
Hi, Can anyone tell me if the new firmware has Cyrillic keyboard?
Nothing for Italy at this moment....

It has Russian keyboard, but it is hidden (at least, on my phone).
I had to set my locale to Russian with MoreLocale. This switches the entire UI to Russian unfortunately, but enables Russian in HTC IME.
Same was true for my original 1.xx ROM.
...
just updated on ger unbranded legend with win7 pro 64 bit without any problem... now testing ;-) ...
Is there swedish language included in this?
Is this ROM have English lang available on it? I bought my legend from india (1.32).
Will i be able to get OTA updates from HTC after flashing this ROM? I guess i ll also lose my warranty?
Please tell me as i want to flash this ROM desparately.
Hi everybody. My first message here...
I just upgraded my Dell Venue Pro to WP 7.8, step by step following: this method and I have a probem with fix camera translation. I tried THIS and
THIS method and nothig. Plase make me sure: In both of methods I need to install on my DVP or RootExplorer or some kind of Registry Editor Tool, yes? If I have my DVP unrooted/not unlocked there is no chance to do this?
Maybe somebody know how to perform this?
Venue Pro doesn't have a working registry editor so you can't unlock it anyway.
Anyway? No magic tricks?
Somebody know good camera app in this case? :crying:
Something new in case or still the same?
Old topic but just to make sure: if you update your Dell Venue Pro to WP7.8 manually, you cannot fix the camera settings into your phone??? What about if the phone is updated via Zune (which I couldn't do)? Will those camera settings appear there via "official" update method?
Thank you very much to anybody who bothers to answer this question:highfive:

As I know there is no option to update your DVP without broke down camera functions.
You couldn't update your phone via Zune.... because you couldn't
??
