Availability in Dubai / UAE? - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi All,
Has anyone managed to purchase the phone in Dubai or UAE? Despite Samsung launching the phone here in May, they still haven't made it available for purchase in the shops. According to Samsung's help line, they're having problems with Arabic on the phone. This means that it won't be available until the 15th of July.
I don't need Arabic however. Anyone find it in a shop here?
Cheers,
A.

I heard that it is available at Axiom retail stores in UAE, if not then try Expansys.ae

bought mine in Dubai from Axiom in ibn battuta AED 2,699 for 16 GB
Enjoy

Upgrade of ROM for Magic from official HTC website

Hello. I've bought HTC Magic recently. It is version 32a, as it has 288 MB of RAM.
Currently the build version is 2.16.*
So I wanted to download and upgrade to latest rom version 2.20.401.2 from HTC.
After putting my S/N HT97******** it shows me Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device..
Is here anyone who could help me please?
If you **** around too much on the htc home pages you do not get to download any update. I do not know why it is so but so it was with me,
So turn off your browser to try again. or get a new IP address
Or **** in the slow updates and root your phone it takes five minutes. Then your phone will be double as fast .???????????
OK, I've tried changing the browser, deleting browser's cache, reconnecting to the other wifi (so other IP), but all without success.. Thanks anyway Any other suggestions please?
Try to morrow.
Kk, but I don't think it's the reason because it didn't work already when I visited HTC website for the very first time and as I wrote, I tried it with different IPs, browsers etc.. but anyway, I'll give it a try
Is the update for your phone, ie the country its from? Otherwize sn will be wrong

New Firmware Released : I9000ZSJF7 (Hong Kong / Taiwan)

I bought my SGS on Saturday, 3rd July, 2010.
The Firmware was I9000ZSJF4
A new firmware I9000ZSJF7 was released today morning.
This is a Hong Kong Official unit.
Changelog:
1. Added a location Tradition Chinese : Hong Kong
Other than that, I do not see any difference compare to the previous version.
And we all have to install all apps and setting again.
I will report if it solves the WIFI bug after standby mode tomorrow morning.
Do you use Kies for official upgrades, or an unofficial prog?
Bought mine on Sunday, already pre-loaded with I9000ZSJF7

Kies...
The Sensitivity of the Monitor is much better compare to JF4
At least I don't need to sweep couple times to unlock now.
Hedre in Norway the latest version showing up in Kies is the version the phone was shipped with; JF3. Any newer version out there with Norwegian/English language and how to get my Kies to choose that version?
And more importantly: Is the lag problem gone?
how can i download it ?
Does this firmware have Thai Language? Could you please check for me?
Thanks

Great news.
Two things:
1) Is the lag problem completly gone?
2) I just don't understand how you install this upgrade. When I start Kies and choose upgrade it says there are no upgrades available. My version is jf3
I am dying for the new firmware upgrade. Please, please tell us how to upgrade? I cant even get the Kies to connect man!!

As I know this upgrade on kies only in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

I can make call presumably on the 1900 band and get an edge connection but no 3g. If anyone has the firmware that i need please post or advise. I feel like this hardware is wasted with a crappy edge connection. Thanks.

[Q] U8180 Rom for New Zealand?

Okay, so I bought the Huawei X1 phone, which is a great little phone.
But, it wasn't long before I started to tinker with it, and in the process I lost the stock Telecom rom and ended up having to flash with an Aussie version.
The problem I'm having though, is that nearly all roms I've found so far will not register properly on the network, and as far as I found out, it's because these all came from 900mhz providers and not the 850mhz like XT.
So heres what I would like somone to do f they are keen enough...
Use SuperOneClick to root their phone.
Install RootToolBox.
Flash with recovery-RA-u8160-v2.3 (you may need a file manager like ES file manager)
Power off then on holding both power button and volume up until recovery menu comes up.
Perform a nand backup of boot, system, and data and then...
Please please please upload the files somewhere for me!
Thanks.
Or if anyone has the U8180 Telecom New Zealand rom, can you please upload?
I've tried getting it from wiki.modaco.com Huawei_Firmware_U8180
But none of the links work, or I can't figure out how to get them working.
You've got the wrong forum mate...This forum section is for U8800 - X5 and what you've got is Huawei Ideos X1 - U8180.
Yeah I know, but for some reason I can't find the right forum?
Able to point me in right direction?
You owe me a beer for this
http://androidz.jimdo.com/roms-x1-u8180/roms-u8180-x1-gaga/#.Tlrayl34K08
Not really mate, those roms are the reason my phone is now stuck on the 900mhz version baseband and not the 850mhz version like I need for telecom.
I'm desperate for the NZ telecom version!
Ups, sorry mate, wasn't aware that NZ is 850mhz.
Can you not change the baseband in *#*#4636#*#* menu?

You are confused, the baseband has nothing to do with the 3G frequency, you cannot change a frequency because it is in the hardware not software.
My question is: did it worked before the update? (im assuming that you are talking about 3G frequency bands)
Sent from my U8800Pro using XDA App
Oh I guess I am confused?
Yes it did work before the update.
And no I don't see an option to change anything in the menu.
How would I go about repairing this?
Maybe contact Huawei NZ? via http://huaweimobile.co.nz
I tried that yesterday.
Got some angry little asian man who wanted to know how I flashed the phone and was no help at all
Noticed before that the phone model isn't actually U8180, but rather U8180-7...
I'm guessing there may be a hardware change for NZ?
Can anybody point me to more info on basebands and whatnot?
I don't really understand it all, I was under the impression that baseband=operating frequencies?
Why don't you take it back to Telecom shop and see if they can flash it back? I doubt you'll have much luck on this forum as it's for a totally different phone that runs on only 2D and Vodafone in NZ
you'd be fine if the Huawei links weren't broken, all the links I've tried for multiple models are broken. Keep an eye on them they might come right soon.
Flashed it with U8150 firmware for a laugh, going back to shop today :S
hey there -
I've got the U8180-7 NZ Telecom version if you want - uploading it now to mediafire and will post it in a bit.
Will you return the favor ? I need to purchase a couple of these phones in NZ and have them shipped out to me. But haven't found a way to do that yet.. nobody seems to want to ship overseas or even have DHL pick on my expense from their shop..

[Q] Revert back to Orange UK Mango Build from DFT Sammy Rainbow - Omnia 7

Hey everyone, first post here on the forums!
My friend wants to revert back to the Orange UK Mango build of wp7 from the DFT Sammy Rainbow ROM he put on his Samsung Omnia 7 earlier today.
I've had a look around for him and the ROM file is hosted on multiupload.com , which is down (how helpful!)
Here is the name of the ROM and the url for the download link for clarification.
Samsung Omnia 7 Firmware XXJID ORANGE UNITED KINGDOM
(multiupload. com/KLDXGK59X0)
If someone could shoot me a link my way with a download of the rom, a method/the programs needed to put that rom back on the phone to revert it to the way it was before, it would me immensely appreciated!
Thanks!

p.s There wasn't a backup of the original build made from the phone, sorry

I was looking around for absolutely ages and couldn't find it anywhere last week. Hopefully someone here will be able to help your friend get that specific one.
I actually managed to find the UK retail one mentioned in the thread with all the dead links...

Included providers CSC's:
XEU - Retail United Kingdom
It took hours to find on some weird korean site that google translate wouldn't work on..it works perfectly on both Orange and o2 (with carrier stores showing and what not) if you want I'll mediafire it for you, but I'm not doing it unless you need me too, so let me know!
