CM6? - Droid Eris Android Development

While idling in #cyanogenmod, someone linked me to this: home.thisisnotajoke.com/CM6.zip
They said it was CM6 for nexus one.
Can someone verify this and possibly port it?
Thanks.

I can verify it. Cyanogenmod 6 is a cyanogen version of froyo, and was released as an alpha version for the N1.
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/home/cyanogenmod-6-progress

me and conap have had it for a few days already
i caught it the day it came out
we are working on a vendor tree though

A Cyanogen based Froyo Rom? *Drool* The version Kaos is working on is already quick, so is this one going to be telepathic or something? Seems new exciting things have been popping up more recently than they have in the past couple of few weeks. I can't wait!

sweet.....

can't wait for a full release FroYoCM +1,000,000 to first dev/team complete for eris =)

this rom will the sweet

Mine already has CM6 bits in it.

froyo roms

just curious as to the status on these, havent heard much in a while, not pushing anyone just curious
installed stock froyo on my friends droid and loved it myself, so fast
Yea I am in the same boat. If a FROYO rom based off the source is released in the next few days Ill want to try it if not I'm going to try out KaosFroyo V10.
i have a feeling that as soon as kaos gets froyo perfect that then they will start from there, beings that we don't seem to be getting an official OTA update.

I believe some devs are working with the source that Google released for 2.2. While kayo's is based of a dump from another phone that is being ported.

Ok thanks. I didn't know. That would explain how so many features started working.
I think the last is FRF 83 ???? I seen to be working with no problems

currently wifi, blue tooth, gps, jit and mms don't work. possibly camera too, not sure. other than that it is a very smooth build. kaos is on vacation until next Monday i think he said, so won't be any updates until then.
also shouldn't be too much longer til cyanogen 6.0 comes out, cyan froyo.

You have to understand 2.2 wasnt made for our phones. Kaos is working on it.. Patience... trust me we at AndIRC are very anxious for more improvement on this rom.
I have been using Cyanogen Eris Lightning Bolt 2.7 and it is a terrific rom. Once the good folks over at cyanogenmod.com release their froyo port the dev said he will begin work for the next update of lightning bolt. In the mean time I seriously suggest you check out this rom. Should be about a week.

That was my understanding at least. Because as soon as the source was released we had sound and lights and overclocking. But honestly the cyanogen mod froyo release gives me goosebumps to think about how jit is honestly going to react once its on the correct setup.

Jit will likely be in the kaosfroyo 11, he already made reference to why it wasn't working. Also darchstar had it running in his froyo for the hero for awhile now.

Is there a froyo port?

Hey guys,
I have been kind of out of the loop with the whole froyo port for the incredible. Is there one(a rom) currently being developed for this?
same here was coming to post the same thing any info?
no. but there is a search button! its super sweet.
Ill just wait for some one more informative to tell me.
Not yet.. Keep an eye on the dev section. Don't ask questions about it, but as soon as its out it will be all over the place.

Well...technically..
Cyanogenmod 6 is in the works currently. If you check their website they do make mention of the Incredible, though it doesn't exactly sound like the most promising thing ever. However, I believe since Koush ported 5.0.8 over to the DInc, it's fairly likely that he might port 6 over as well.
Cyanogenmod 6 is FroYo and since they opened the FroYo branch of the AOSP, things are looking good.
Check their website if you want to read all the juicy details for yourselves.

[NOT for Vibrant... yet] CM6 beta for GT-I9000, NOT FOR VIBRANT!

I exaggerated the "NOT FOR VIBRANT" so that no one goes excited for nothing. I just wanted to say that a CyanogenMod beta has been released for the Galaxy S international version (GT-I9000).
Here it is on xda:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=842159
Original post on official CyanogenMod forum (closed, no discussion):

Not for Vibrant! The Vibrant version will be coming soon from thedudesandroid. Follow his twitter feed!
Not really a build, more of a port from my understanding? Either way great news, I believe barak & eugene will be working on this for the vibrant judging by baraks recent tweets.

It is a complete build. Codeworkx posted all the source code on his github page and anyone can grab it and compile it. Also since CyanogenMod is completely AOSP and not closed-source crap from Samsung, it wasn't ported like all the other ROMs we currently see here, it was directly fixed to work on the Galaxy S. This is the reason why CyanogenMod for Galaxy S took so much time to work on.
This is absolutely great news! All I want to see is a list of what specific things are not working in either this build or TheDudesAndroid'd Vibrant progress. Thanks for the heads up on barak's twitter, I'll check it out. It would be nice to have eugene and barak working on this project, they have good experience

HELLS YEA! BTW, this build for the GT-I9000 got a Quadrant score of around 2000 WITH RFS! THAT is how FAST this build is with RFS... now imagine with EXT4! IT'S GOING TO BE EXTREME! I wonder if someone already posted a Linpack score, that's something I would really like to see since the Samsung Froyo builds are getting around 15 MFLOPS while other similar Android phones are getting around 35 or 40 MFLOPS.

I thought they have replaced the entire filesystem with EXT4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9194633&postcount=10
EDIT: only data and dbdata, oops, a la Voodoo fix.
EDIT2: Linpack low score is due to JIT not being optimized for Hummingbird, remember the Android dev phone is Snapdragon, I hope the code gets optimized for Hummingbird in the nearest future, hmmm and now with the Nexus S on the horizon I can see a really bright future for Android
in response to OP. in your signature section where you list your ROM etc. You have AOSP *1.2* listed. this is making me go crazy cuz i love that ROM and it would be cool if there was an update.

lol I haven't updated my signature in a long time, I used to use AOSPish, it was a nice build and quite stable. Right now I'm using Bionix Final R1 for stability and the updates put in by Team Whiskey. I recently tried AOSPish JK2 1.1 and Bionix Obsidian V3 and were happy in the beginning but they were buggy (like Obsidian V3 crashed every time I restored my apps using Titanium Backup, or AOSPish JK2's notification tray wouldn't slide down at all, etc). I do love the AOSP theme and I wish we had 100% AOSP instead of Samsung crap, which is why I'm waiting for CyanogenMod 6.1!
I CAN'T WAIT FOR CM! Keep it up TheDudesAndroid!

Hmm I have AOSPish 1.1 jk2 with one of Eugene's OC kernels and OCLF and it works awesome. I haven't run into any problems yet, but I've only been using it for a couple days. Idk about the notification problem you had, mine pulls down like normal. But yeah I have tried bionixs jk2 and Eugene's but I just got sick of twiz and its nice to take a break. And I can't wait for CM also, I think they have a version for the international galaxy s, so it shudnt be long. :0

I feel like the Aria is slow with developments. NOT COMPLAINING, I love liberated and CM6 (awesome, btw) but when do you think new ROMS are going to come out?

New ROMS based on what??? We have HTC Sense ROMs for Eclair 2.1 and Froyo 2.2 and AOSP CM 6.1. What else are you looking?
Personally I hate visiting the other device forums because everybody and their brother has 'cooked' up another ROM (mostly just new themes or added favorite apps). IMO who has time to stiff through all the various ROMs and threads? I find it much easier to review 3 different ROM threads and try to help others than to try and go through 10 or 15 threads and seeing messages such as 'well this worked on this ROM but it doesn't on that ROM, why not?'
OK, I'll get off my soap box now...
I agree. Plenty of good variety in the ROMs we have.

There's nothing wrong with that actually. Sometimes it's a good thing because there are more people developing towards something greater. We have 1 or 2 guys doing all this work. There are some pretty badass ROMs for the more popular phones out there. If we had more people developing and cooking, we'd no doubt have something better than what we have even now.
Screw those giant phones.
But a little more ROMS would be cool, we just need more people with the Aria.
It's not a bad phone...hah.
What would you like to see in a new ROM?

Not too sure, as I have only had the Aria and used the two ROMS.
it's not a bad thing that we may only have 3 roms, but they are actually good quality roms, not just thrown together, and they are constantly being updated, but it would be kool if they had more help with them. Although i wish they had some people creating or porting themes, if i knew how i would, if anybody wanna help me learn, i wouldn't mind contributing by making themes for the aria, cause i kno i'm not the only one wishing they could have a theme to try out

I recently rooted and installed CM6.1.0RC2, and only thing I'd say it's missing is Flash Lite compared to Sense. Wish there was a way to get Flash Lite on CM, sadly not possible. Still loving CM though. Might test Sense again when there's an official Froyo update from AT&T and attn1 has taken out all the bloatware.

Wait... why wait for the official ATT rom? It's going to be near identically the same as the Gratia ROM with 2.2 in it. You can go download it and flash it now.

Agreed. Waiting for the AT&T ROM to be released and then having someone remove the bloatware is pointless. What you will end up with is available now as Liberated FR07...
Sorry didn't mean the rom, meant the source kernel for attn1 to add and hopefully figure out why track wake isn't on plus all the other little things that's on his list that aren't in the current build.

That's right folks- get your supercharged Froyo sense goodness now with the newer kernel source released by HTC for the HTC legend. Everything works as far as I know, except for the built in wifi hotspot app for which we have replaced with the working Wireless Tether app thanks to the work of shakerhero. Final thanks go to attn1 and jznomoney for their hard work on the CM kernel, ladios for bundling up the kernel, trackpad wake fix, and wireless tether in a single, proper package.

For anyone thats interested, if you havent been following, i would start following Ultimate Droid... He was the very first developer to release an built from source full AOSP rom for us (before even Obsidian came out) and he facebooked as well as tweeted that TONIGHT he is going to be releasing another built from source, AOSP... GINGERBREAD 2.3 build for us tonight.. Not a theme... but the real deal the actual AOSP full rom.. so stay tuned

It can't be a direct port, because gingerbread uses. 35 kernel and we are stuck with a. 32 kernel...
Its just gingerbread parts built from source I would gather.
U can't port the whole thing without the kernel.
so. stoked.
is there an ETA for tonight? I see the 3.0 beta's have been posted.
idk where the OP gets his info because nothing, i repeat, NOTHING, has been said about the x yet but since other 3..0.0 betas have been released we could hope for the x 3.0 soon

As someone else mentioned, I don't see how this can be called a "true" gingerbread ROM without the newest kernel, etc to go along with it. Sounds more like applications taken from the source and changed to work on 2.2.1.
