modifying gtalk to notify once every XX seconds? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I have a small gripe with the gtalk sound notification going off for every message that comes in. Since its a chat, you get usually a bunch of small messages shortly after eachother which also means you'll hear a lot of "DING!" or whatever you have as a sound notification.
I miss a setting where we can set gtalk to only have one sound notification for every, lets say, 30 seconds. Is this a hard hack to do?

SMS ringer lasts forever

Does anyone know how to stop the ringer for my text messages to stop ringing so long? I cut it like a regular ringtone, so its like 20-30 seconds and I can open the message, slide up the screen and send a reply and it will still be going. The only way to stop it is to lower the volume while its ringing and turn it back up after its done. Is there a trick in the settings or a way in the registry??
Also, on my A630 I was surprised when I first found out that, for instance the ringer that goes off for my girlfriend when she called would also go off when she sent a text message...on this phone, which is far superior, only the default text message ringtone plays no matter who it is, is there a way to change that??
It will play the entire SMS wav file. no way of stopping. So, put a short one there.
No, as far as I know of customizing SMS alert tone to contacts.

Text notification sound keeps playing

I have a clip that's a girl saying "message.. message hoe.." and it keeps going until she gets mad. it's maybe 15 - 20 seconds long.
On regular phones, when you open the text, the sound stops. However, when I assigned it to my text alert, it continued to play until it was over. I even deleted the text after I viewed it and that didn't help.
Is there anything I can do? I really would like this as my text alert. It's funny, yeah, but it also is more than just your standard "ta-da" so in case i don't hear it at first or if i leave the room and come back, then i'll know I have a text.
Any way to make it not have to finish the entire thing?
any ideas please?

Strange tone every now and then

Hi, I'm sorry if this has already been brought up by someone.
Every now and then I hear an unknown notification for something. I can't find what application is doing this and it's obviously something you can't set at the normal sound settings menu (all the tones I've selected for receiving SMS, ActiveSync, WiFi networks or any other app are different). It must be some kind of system notification, but I can't find out what is causing it, because it happens when I'm not even touching the phone.
(BTW, I have the LED notification installed, and it doesn't light up when this tone sounds).
does it sound a little bit like a bird tweeting? the twitter tab makes that sound when it auto updates.
Thanks for your quick reply!
Yeah, I've thought about that, because I thought it was Twitter in the first place, but I've checked and there were no new tweets when I checked after hearing the sound.
(But thanks a lot, it definitely is the Twitter notification sound, I just checked!). Now when does it sound... that's the question
It makes it even if there are no new tweets, it's just to tell you it has checked.
Well, ok then. But then it's not very consistent, because it should check every 5 minutes and I don't get notifications every 5 minutes

Sounds for missed calls, emails etc etc

Is there anyway to get the htc to beep when there are notifications like email/sound etc etc that are unread every minute or so.
I am thinking specifically when you do not have the phone at you and you miss whatever is incoming. for exmaple, getting out of gym.
I want the phone to beep if there is anything waiting to be read.
S2U2 v2.40
S2U2's most recent version, v2.40, has a new Reminder setting section which allows sound or vibration notification for missed call/unread sms/unread mms/unread email/unread voice mail.

Limit number of notifications by time

Hi,
I have been using WhatsApp a lot more than usual lately and there's something that's bothering me. While the screen is off, there's a notification for each message received. So, in case I have someone messaging me 20 times in a row, I will hear the notification tone 20 times. I know some apps limit the number of notifications by time and I'd like to do this with WhatsApp.
Is there some way to do this? To make it clear, I'd like to be able to set an option like "Only ring once for whatever number of messages every 30 seconds".
Thanks

I've seen this in custom Roms but not in Stock.

You can limit notifications frequency in light flow. I am not sure if that's exactly what you want or not, but I have it set so if I get more than say 2 texts in a row within 10 seconds that it doesn't play the sound or vibrate more than once in that time frame.
Thank you so much @frigidazzi ! I already used Light Flow to manage the notification led but never used it to manage notification sounds. I just configured it to only ring once every 10 seconds and it's working perfectly.
Again, thanks a bunch!
